Dot & Bo has a good-looking, functional website, and stylish items. I have a couple great rugs, but I've been really disappointed in my last two (relatively expensive) orders. I would return them, but the size of the items and the hassle to repack (and pay for shipping both ways) isn't worth it. I'm sadly done with Dot & Bo. My side table stools have big chunks of wood filler where the original wood was chipped, the lack of coating makes for very easy staining, and they're top heavy and tip over very easily. (Not great with a toddler in the house.) My wing chairs are IMPOSSIBLE to assemble: too-short screws don't reach their intended connectors (had to buy new ones at hardware store), dried wood glue is stuck to chair and visible, the wood was scuffed out of the box, the "leather" seat and backs are CHEAPLY made, and the styrofoam packaging disintegrates and gets everywhere during unpacking. They even packed the wrong size allen wrench for the hex screws. That's it for me.

Bursting Cosmos Serving Dish
December 17, 2014

Bursting Cosmos Serving Dish - I'm generally not a great fan of plastic dish ware but this serving dish was the pattern of my ceramic dishes so I thought I would give it a try. It was on sale for a very good price, the package came to my door within a few days, and it ended up being sturdier and looking prettier than I expected it to. Really, what's not to like about the experience?

I received an email that my order has arrived. Went to front door... nope. Reread email, it was send to the wrong address. Attempted to contact company and there is NO phone number. No phone support. And responses take 2-3 days. First response acknowledged they sent to wrong address. That was two days ago - no contact as to how they will fix this. I have to go through credit company to get refund. Terrible company.

Bummed...

I bought the garden tiered table top fountain which, according to the ad was marked down from 100 some dollars to 26 dollars. I did not expect to get a plastic fountain I could get at the dollar store. The base of the fountain was uneven and the candles sit askew. I have gerry rigged it to be aesthetic but it is not worth even the 26 dollars, more like 5. I am disappointed because their catalogue looks like it has nice things but I am reluctant to order anything else from this sight.

In late November 2015, I ordered and paid for a bed. Once I was noticed that it was to be delivered, I waited another few weeks. When it was delivered, the carton was clearly marked 2 of 3. The delivery guys, of course, know nothing. I call Dot & Bo and am told they are looking into it with the shipper. After email and calls, I am told I have to wait for them to investigate. At this point, I am not willing to wait. They have over $750 for an item that I have not received. I guess I have to dispute with my credit card company and go through that ordeal. Terrible experience. Would never order or you strongly suggest no one else does. Lots of customers with the same experience here.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and cannot apologize for this less than ideal delivery expereince. On January 22nd 2016, our shipping partner delivered 1 out of 3 boxes. As soon as we received your call, our Customer Relationship rep escalated this order with our operations team to get to the bottom of things. Unfortunately, our shipping partner reported the remaining boxes lost. This has been noted and corrective action will be taken. On January 28th, 2016 at 2:14 PM PST, we processed a full refund which should post to your account in 5-7 business days. That same day at 3:07 PM PST we followed up to confirm a pick up with Pilot Freight services has been scheduled. Again, this is not the type of experience we want for our valued customers such as yourself. We hope you can accept our sincerest apologies.

SCAM!

SCAM! This place is the classic bate people with less expense stuff hoping they'll buy bigger furniture that never comes. I ordered a credenza on 5/16 with a expected ship time of 2-3 weeks. When I thought I was getting the shipping confirmation they send an email stating they would need another 6 weeks. Now 6 weeks later Dot & Bo is asking for another 6 weeks. Complete SCAM! DO NOT Order

Where are my products?

I purchased three items, one of which was received but have not received the other two. I then received an email stating the company ceased all operations as of 9. 23. 16?! There was no customer service line or explanation re: items already purchased!

We ordered a couch that we were going to use in our boutique for a TV/sitting area. A month after we ordered it I got a notification stating they were canceling the order with no explanation why. Now we've missed opportunities to buy other couches that would have worked for us. Not happy at all!

Not what I ordered
August 1, 2020

I ordered this shower curtain on July 11th 2020. Received it today August 1st 2020. This shower curtain looks nothing like the one in the picture. Where is the butterfly and the other insect on the shower curtain. What a waste of $26.80 I will be contacting my credit card company. No customer service number to call. It's to late for me to return it.

Frustrated
March 14, 2016

I received my lights and the electrician went to install today. One of the 3 pendant light we ordered has a much smaller canopy than the other 2. It doesn't even cover the junction box to connect to. Also the light appears to be all scratched. It looks like maybe someone returned it and then it was shipped to me, or they just shipped me a substandard one! I would like to discuss with someone, but can't find a phone number anywhere... I want the right size canopy and unscratched pendant, I will continue to post negative reviews until I am contacted and the problem resolved!

I bought several items at once but only one was delivered. As this item was delivered broken I was in the process of a refund on Sep 23rd and in contact with staff member Craig. Unfortunately Dot&Bo stopped answering my email right in the middle of the conversation and I haven't heard ever since. My money has not being refunded. I am left with a broken item that it's taking over the living room and several items have not been delivered. Dot&Bo, it's only fair to say you need to provide assistance ASAP. This money does not belong to you!

Stay away!
August 29, 2019

If you need a return they wait until the two week limit is up. Then you are stuck. If you persist they then charge you for a return label. Then they send you the merchandise back saying it was damaged. It has no phone number no one to talk to. Worst service I have ever had. A scam company! You will find your stuff elsewhere. And be lucky to stay away.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE> We ordered what was described as a $1000 "custom made" Birch wood and painted credenza. What arrived was completely different. The "Birch" was simply a cheap veneer on the outer pieces of the cabinet. The "wood" doors were a screen printed wood grain that was glued to plywood. The color of the cabinet was completely different that which was displayed. Upon requesting a return for the item, on the basis of misrepresentation, I was told it can not be returned. There is no phone number to contact them, and they will not respond to additional requests. It seems from the comments that this is a completely normal experience with their customer service. Quality is low, prices are high, and customer services is abysmal. Very disappointed.

We treat any claims of misrepresentation with the utmost importance. If an item is misrepresented, we work with the designer of the piece to get updated photos. In this particular case, the images that you provided were reviewed by two separate teams and it was concluded the the credenza you received was appropriately represented on the product page.

As a gesture of our apologies, we did offer a partial refund on this piece as well as a credit. As this item is custom order and not eligible for return, this was a special exception.

They are exactly as hoped for and very attractive bath matts. We use to have a koi pond and have several pictures of the koi that I had enlarged and decorated our main bathroom with. These mats go well with our bathroom theme. Thank you.

Bought a sofa from Dot & Bo and had a problem with shipping as I was not home to receive shipment. Their customer service was amazing and rerouted my order until I was home.

Just received the item and it's simply perfect!

Will do business with them again and highly recommend.

Love love love Dot & Bo. They have really unique pieces and the prices are good too. I've been getting their emails for several months now, and finally pulled the trigger and bought some Buddha Bowls and a Paddington Lounge, and they're great. Both were shipped fairly quickly, and I appreciated the way their customer service rep kept me posted on expected ETAs. I look forward to shopping with Dot & Bo again and again.

I fell in love with Dot & Bo's website, but found them a bit expensive. When my sister in law gave me a gift card there I bought a book shelf that, while I felt was way too expensive, because of the gift card, I bought it anyway. It was a little smaller than I anticipated and the product arrived with no directions on how to assemble it. I am very disappointed in the poor quality-it's the 5-tier Hanover shelf. It's wobbly and the screws continue to come out of the wood. I am extremely disappointed with this. The metal brackets in between do not stand straight up. I am embarrassed to tell people how much was paid for this, and top of the regular shipping I had to pay extra for truck delivery. I would pay maybe $100 for this, but this poor quality is vastly overpriced. I do not want to pay the return shipping and dissemble it, so I'll keep it in the garage for storage, not in the main area. Very disappointed and will not order from this company again.

My experience with Dot & Bo has been disappointing. I ordered the Gordon Candleholders (set of 3) and, after getting an email informing me that they would be 10-30 days delayed, I got a follow-up email that the order itself was being cancelled. Apparently their supplier couldn't deliver on the product, Seems like a quality control issue that Dot & Bo should have anticipated.

Beyond that, their prices are not particularly good. I was looking at a counter stool and found that the same product is sold by Target online. Dot & Bo just calls it something slightly different (they slap a cuter name on the product and put it within a well curated collection).

Bottom line: don't waste your precious time. Order elsewhere to save yourself the frustration.
