I was excited when my son showed me this site because I love a good bargain. I immediately started bidding on items that seemed worthwhile. I bought a white gold plated necklace that looks good. Unfortunately, that was my last good item. When the 3 piece aluminum bowl set I ordered arrived it was a set of cheap tiny tin bowls that were so dented they were not usable. The biggest disappointment was the Thomas and friends train set. I kept bidding on this because my grandson loves trains. It is a cheap little knock-off that I would never give as a gift. None of these items have return information and it would probably cost too much to return them.
I won a bid they took the amount out of my paypal and never heard from them again.im going to go to atty. General and bbb and to the news paper and go online to everyone I can to show people what a rip off how do they stay in business beats me. But I will do what I can to show people they most likely wont print this review.

Auction pictures sometimes misleading, picturing four of the same item, but you only get one. Other sellers down right lie about gemstones being 100% genuine and set in sterling silver with no markings. Other sellers sell US coins as collectable rare coins and they are fake. You can return items, sure, but there is a limit. Once you hit the limit, you must return items to CHINA AT YOUR EXPENSE. The quality of the items is reprehensible, just cheap plastic. Clothing has to be ordered one to two sizes above what you would normally wear. Don't waste your money on this website.

I won a bid for a pair of Tennis shoes. I live in Torrance and the product was shipped from Carson, Calif. I contacted the seller and was told because I only paid $1.00 plus $8.00 shipping that they would lose money. I was then sent a size 11 shoe instead of size 13. The seller then told me to keep the shoes, and I would get a refund. Tophatter then told me to return the shoes. The seller then called me back and explained that because they did not want to lose money that this is the reason why they sent me a $4.00 pair of shoes. This site is like a gamble, they have shill bidders.

As you can see from the words, the ad states camera & monitor. Only camera came. No amount of bs from TopHatter can refute this. Look at the pic. It also shows camera & monitor. TopHatter tried to tell me multiple times it was only the camera and that I should have known (really) by the wait of the package at shipping that it wouldn't have had the monitor. Give me a break. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Never again. Please do not waste your time & money. They should be shut down. Maybe a consumer group or watchdog could do this.

In 2 days I won bids on 3 different items, all with deceptive or blatantly false listings. I reported (there is no option for wrong info on the why you need to cancel btw) and cancelled all 3, but apparently this kicks in the 7 day auto-ban feature. I contacted them and explained what was going on, and asked that they please remove the ban. They told me I was free to use the buy-it-now feature, but they would not remove the ban.
Need I say more? Ok, here goes... made cheap, all dated from 2010 and older (electronics) un-upgradeable, NEVER any instructions or plug ins for pc or wall power... if you can trust a stranger then please trust me... STAY AWAY from tophatter

Order was placed in September I got a notification saying the item was delivered on oct 13 I never received the product I email too hatter multiple times they said there was an error with the delivery posting and that it was still enroute and allow up to 40 days it is almost the end of November and I still havent received my product I won and paid for! To top it off I got banned from placing bids after cancelling a bid I won and accidentally placing a bid on a product I didnt want! I will never do business with this merchant and will not recommend wasting your time or your money!

IF I understand this correctly, you are only allowed to return a certain number of items before you have to start paying to return other items that are broken when you get them. I have purchased 15 items from Tophatter, 5 of those items were damaged when I received them, either due to poor quality or due to the fact that it takes almost a month (or longer) to get these items in the mail. The whole time the postal service has the packages, they just get thrown around and they don't care because the sellers are paying the lowest amount of shipping possible, even though we pay the seller for the shipping. I have even been told that it can sometimes take up to 3 months to get the packages because of the low amount of shipping paid by sellers. In my opinion, IF I am paying a seller shipping, it should not take a month or longer for my package to arrive, and it should not arrive damaged, or in some instances just get an empty box in the mail. I should not have to pay more for return shipping than what the item cost to begin with only to get a partial refund, if any at all! It should not matter how many items that we request a return on, it if is junk or damaged due to poor packaging, or just doesn't work, then we should get a refund no questions asked. That is what BUYER PROTECTION is for! If you do not receive your package in the mail, you should get a refund, no questions asked, even if it has been marked delivered! Just because something gets marked delivered does not mean the purchaser has gotten the item, it could have been a mistake. With tophatter if you have a package that gets marked delivered and you don't get it, you don't get a refund or replacement. You are just out your money! If you tell customer service that they are doing a very bad job taking care of their customers, they ignore you from that point on. If you leave bad reviews on the Tophatter facebook page they will remove your posts and block you from commenting or using the like buttons. I know this for a fact because it has all happened to me in the last 24 hours! It all happened because I refused to pay 15.00 shipping on a 12.00 dollar lamp to return it. I just threw it in the trash. I have 2 more items left to come in and then I will NEVER do business with them again!

I brought 16 items totaling $345 Australian dollars including ridiculous postage which arrived a month after ordering. The last item I received today was called a Stare master flashing light which was a piece of plastic crap. The silver chains I would not even fit on a doll. The Drone with camera did not even turn on and all the watches were a load of rubbish. All in all a waste of money and will cost an arm and a leg to send back.

The things they sell are junk! THEy retail their items for 100s of dollars and they're all fake. Bid on a hummingbird engagement ring retailed at $800. Checked with and I could buy it there for $1 without the bidding. I can't believe businesses like this are legal. Do yourself a favor and hi just use Wish.

Living out in the country its 25 miles to the nearest real town. Tophatter has become my go to place for many items. It would take lots of driving time to even find some of the unique items. TH has an excellent return policy, and refunds are given for items not received within reasonable guidelines. For trinkets, costume jewelry, earrings of all types, crafts and much more there are endless choices. The available items are constantly added to so I check in at least monthly to see whats new. Fun place to shop.

I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.

So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
