Almost immediately, I received an urgent request from GearBest stating that they now admit that my package was "lost during the custom clearance." Not sure why they say "custom clearance" since their shipment was sent from within the US, to the US. At any rate, they offered to re-send my camera, OR, they hoped that I would accept a GearBest credit so that I could buy some other item.
I toyed with the idea of giving them another try at sending another camera, but I found the holding my $122,38 hostage distasteful.
I contacted them and said, ok, re-ship.
PayPal had already abandoned my request that since GearBest wasn't going to make things right, perhaps PayPal should.
So when GearBest wrote back "Could you please help to close the case first so that we can apply for this reshipment? When it is a case situation, we can not apply for the reshipment due to our policy and system." I felt tricked again. PayPal had already shut their case down, so what is this GearBest plea about?
I was still trying to keep my blood-pressure under control when I by chance noticed that my PayPal balance had increased. Turns out, that without notifying me, PayPal reversed my $122.38 payment to GearBest. They offered no information as to why, though I suspect it may have something to do with my sitejabber statement.
I'm pleased, but grumbling, that PayPal finally took the moral high ground. GearBest could learn from them.
I wrote GearBest back and told them I will not be doing business with them in the future *because* they dragged their feet every step of the way. Some people MAY be having success with GearBest. I most certainly did not.
I'm done with the whole issue. I wish others success.

I saw an advert online for an action camera from Gearbest for a very tempting price, it had A LOT of 5 star reviews with comments such as "better than my GoPro" so I thought I could trust this site and this product... how wrong I was!
The shipping took only a week to England and on first glance the product looked great, I proceeded to charge up the camera with the usb cable provided, the camera turned on however would not charge, the screen was green and fuzzy and if I were to take the cable out it would turn off immediately. It also makes a recurring beeping noise as if a button were held down. My item is evidently faulty. I have sent photos and a full description to Gearbest who then replied telling me I would have to wait a few days for them to contact the supplier... two weeks and nothing, so I message them again. I have received a reply saying that I have two options; keep the camera and receive 15 dollars credit to put towards another item or to send the item back to china (at my own cost) and pay for shipping again so that they can send me another camera.
Seeing as the camera cost 30 dollars giving me only 15 that I can only spend on a scamming site is totally unacceptable and if I were to send the camera back it would cost me double just in shipping to receive probably another faulty item.
After reading many reviews I have seen that I am not the first person to fall into this scamming companies trap, and I am not the first to fall for their bogus reviews.
Thought I'd give an update, after writing this review I filed a dispute with Paypal and requested a refund which gearbest first declined. Then it seems Gearbest have read this review and decided to change their minds and refund me the full amount. So if anyone has had the same trouble as me I suggest you be persistent and you may get your money back as you deserve.

Maybe its just my back luck. Ordered a ThiEye T5E action camera from Gearbest and received a defect unit (couldnt record sound) so clearly their QC/QA process isnt perfect.
GB customer support initially requested me to send an evidence video clip (to prove no sound could be recorded) with file size below 2M. They have no idea about the file size of HD video camera and clearly they dont understand the product they are selling, maybe due to poor product training.
With my complaint they then offered me RMA but sent me two different RMA numbers (one of them is correct) and the return address is a personal contact in Shenzhen China. Multiple reviews in TrustPilot.com are related to never-received RMA (lost?) incidents that scared me. I finally decided to keep the partially working device and save the hassle (post back the device) and the risk to return it. I then rejected GBs offering of $20-30 refund as it wont compensate my upset and actually I am blaming only myself for making the wrong decision (buying from GB).
GB might be a place to buy gadget with competitive price but people need to be aware of the potential risks (defect units and less optimal customer services and troublesome RMA/Repair process) especially if you are located far away from Shenzhen, China.
I, also am having a problem getting help from Gearbest. I ordered a quadcopter drone which took over a month to arrive... broken. Yup... right out of the box with a bad controller board.
I immediately emailed them and hence started getting the standard form letter reply. It took a couple of emails to simply get them to understand my item was DOA when i got it. I cant begin to tell you how frustrating the back and forth has been with Gearbest. There product arrived defective and they want me to pay for shipping back to china on it! And then wait another month and hope i get a good product. Shipping alone would almost be the cost of what i paid for it!
At one point I was told I would get $100usd credit; of course i was leary of this but i jumped on it and agreed to the terms. I waited and waited... nothing. After three emails and no response i started a new ticket crying for help from someone... anyone! They pretty much blew me off and im still waiting.
Its so maddening when you get ripped off like that and feel helpless. Im still emailing them hoping they will get tired. I even told them to just mail me a new controller board and i would install it myself. Anything... something.! Geez. Its only fifty bucks but then again; fifty bucks is fifty bucks.
Sad thing is ive ordered from them twice before but i guess they dont care about repeat customers. My advice would be make sure you dont order anything electronic because if its broke, chances are youre screwed!

Update. Contacted Gearbest via Paypal and they agreed to issue me a refund. At least I've got my money back. Glad issue was solved by Gearbest after some hiccups. Hopefully it was just a one off bad experience.
I used to have a good impression of Gearbest and made several orders from them but what happened with my last order, left me extremely disappointed. Their customer service is a waste of time and they always repeat automated responses. I made an order of 96 Euro for a Yeelight LED Lamp that should have been delivered from their Czech Warehouse to Malta with DHL. Here the problems start.
My item is marked to have been delivered on the 3rd of November, however I haven't received anything. Strangely enough on the tracking info it is written that it was delivered somewhere in Germany. I have contacted my local DHL and post office in Malta and they told me that parcel never arrived to Malta.
When contacting their customer service someone with the name Pamela keeps repeating that my parcel was delivered. If so it's certainly not to me. Moreover I was abroad at date of suppose delivery and at home was nobody. I have airplane ticket proof that I was abroad from 1st November to 5th November.
I am extremely disappointed as I always thought Gearbest was a high reputable company and recommended it to my family and friends. Thanks to their behaviour they managed to lose several customers.
I also did insurance as thought would cover me but according to their customer service, if the parcel is marked as delivered even to a wrong address in a wrong country, it doesn't cover me. Even worse I can't have a refund. In other words it's just another scam and waste of money.
Stay away from this company especially from very advantageous offers as most of the time, items are either out of stock or worse never arrive.

I am going to share about a big scam and fake retail shop GEARBEST.COM
If you ever try to purchase anything from gearbest, thinks twice. No no don't even think so.
I had very bad and eye-opening experience with gear best.
So story started as i ordered a sweat shirt at 25 NOV 2016 with value $11. I got tracing details too, but after 12 days 7 dec 2016i wasn't able to trace my product.
I contacted support team more than 100 times to product deliver. They assured me I will get my product.
After 1 month when i didn't receive my product, they told me to wait for 2 month i, e till 26 Jan 2017.
If i don't get my product after 26 Jan 2017 they will offer me better solutions.
As expected after 2 month i didn't get my parcel.
Now this is the best solutions they offer which was unbelievable.
1). They will credit only 40% cash back as wallet from my total amounts what i purchased from there on line site.
2). Case back will be in format of wallet money that means i could only use it to buy something from there shop only what i can't do it.
Supposed if i again order something will have to suffer for 2 more month afterwards they will again give cash back of its 40%.
Sounds like scam. Doesn't it?
And the good thing is from 26 jan they stopped to respond me what i can easily guest why.
I have sent multiple email to them, they were frequent to response back before 26 jan, now they are completely avoiding my emails.
