The company has garnered a mixed reputation among customers, with notable strengths in its engaging auction format and a diverse range of products that some users find enjoyable and affordable. Many appreciate the responsive customer service, which has been effective in addressing issues and facilitating refunds. However, significant concerns persist regarding product quality, with numerous complaints about receiving damaged or inferior items. Additionally, customers have reported frustrations with order cancellations and difficulties in the returns process. Overall, while the platform offers a fun shopping experience, it must improve product reliability and support to enhance customer satisfaction.

This site is crap 99% of the stuff on the site can be found on wish.com for $1... so its junk! If you do happen to bid and buy something hope and pray that your item is to your liking because if there's an issue you won't get a response about cancelling or trying to get a refund. My advice is stay away from this site!
All the auctions sell crap. The "buyer protection" offered by top hatter is crap. Save your time and trouble and just flush your money.
I was looking at ordering from this site, but when I looked on here most of the reviews are horrible. My only question is most of the negative reviews say they ordered multiple items from the site. If the site is so terrible, why would you continue to order from them? I had a bad experience ordering from Wal Mart online and haven't ordered from them since. Why Keep Ordering?
I wish I would have looked at the reviews but I've been ordering on top hat for quite some time now just received some jewelry and like you guys all say the jewelry looks a lot bigger and is really small when you get it and it says diamonds I don't see no diamonds anywhere on it
Don't be deceived by the MSRP, it's bull.
"High end" jewelry is made in China and shipped in cellophane bags.
Keep your buds very low.
Shipping costs are where they make their money, pay attention.
I bought items on this site many times. Once I bought from MNwatches and revived fake euphoria parfume. After few emails back and forth they refunded my account and I have to send back parfume. They send me prepaid label for $2.31 and when I went to post office to mail it back it was $6.40 to mail it so I had to pay the difference. Few days ago I was gonna bid on the item from same seller and I couldn't do it so I email Tophater support and they told me I was blocked because of negative review I left for MNwatches! What? Of course I wrote review based on my experience and I wrote everything that happened. What am I supposed to do? Give them positive feedback on horrible experience I had. So basically if you are honest and write riview based on their experience they can just block you from placing bids in the future. Don't buy form MNwatches their item are not authentic like they claim to be!
It was my first time on Tophatter. I bid on Chanel No. 19 and Chanel No. 5- so I thought. I won it for $65 each but when I got them, the packaging looked fake! If it looks fake, it IS FAKE. DO NOT EVER bid for buy from this site. They are deceptive and UNETHICAL!
Report the website@ www.stopfakes.gov
I have bought and returned perfumes that were fake
And they refused to refund my money. I reported the site but one voice isn't enough.
I wrote a review about Tophatter earlier and how they mislead people by making the jewellery look a lot bigger, so you thought you were getting bigger and better jewellery. On their site, they have various sellers. One of those sellers is a vender called Edmond Inc. On the site, they tell you the status of your purchase, and the tracking number of your purchase. This seller only posted that my purchase was Untracable. Basically, they had lost it. I bought and paid for my item on the 20th of January, I have made 4 attempts to contact them, but they refuse to respond to any communications. Tophatter is supposed to have buyer protection, but they haven't done a thing. So, I'm out my item and my money. Stay away from this site! It is one big rip off, scam site.
Dont buy from tophatter, I bought 6perfumes and all of them are fake, very poor customer service, no one will answer you if there is a problem
I have trying to get a hold of someone for two to three weeks. Doesn't any one answer. This out rageous. Costmer service really sucks. I won a ring, but yet to receive it. I wanted to use my debit card, but can't. I can't even bid on anything.
What a horrible, scummy, greedy site! Theres not enough room to write how evil this place is!
Your paying for some rich stanford college boys to party on your stolen cash! Check for yourself
First 2 orders received pretty quickly. 2nd order still waiting on 11 days now and it's been stuck in Florida for the last 4 days, when it says should be here today. It's not! 3 Rd order still hasn't shipped. Not worth the bs you go through waiting. Cheap crap to begin with.
My wife baught me a beautiful LOOKING ring for christmas, the sight said that is was a half carat diamond and sterling silver. Its december 27th, and my effing finger is green and the ring is now brassy. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO CONTACT SOMEONE FROM TOPHATTER PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
There fragrances are fake. My family and I purchased around 9 fragrances from them. Some smelled good and lasted, but most didn't. I took the fragrances to the a local fragrance store and was proved that all were counterfeit. Just beware if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Also top hatter wants you to pay for return of product without compensation.
I to have purchased all sorts of items, from bags to glasses tote bags and even one time when I left a neutral review the seller went out of their way to not only contact me and apologize but she gave me another necklace free of charge to hold my charm I ordered this site rocks
I have a friend who had bought a few things from the site and wanted to get credit for referring friends, so she invited me to sign up via a link from their website so she would get credit if I purchased something and I would get $10 credit off my first order, well neither one happened so I filed a complaint with the BBB, I even have picture proof of the $10 sign up bonus claim, I really hope these dirtbags get shut down for being unethical.
Selling fake items, con artists. Too good to be true, because it's all fake. Never responded to my complaints. Never got a refund either. Be ready to be scammed if you use Tophatter.
I bought am apple laptop and it arrived in just a few days... the problem was that a key was missing... i applied for a return but the case closed in just three days... i sent the item back three days and the seller should have had the device the day tophatter closed the case... the reason given... i didnt print the label... i have no idea what was meant by that but i bid on the device on October 1st and returned it shortly thereafter... it is now November 8th and according to tophatter they are still reviewing the matter... i do not know what they are reviewing... they asked for a return tracking number and i gave it to them so at this point i have no device and no refund... the seller probably put it back up on tophatter and sold it to someone else... i frankly could care less what the seller does with the device as long as i am refunded the 160 dollars that i paid... in another incidence i bid on and won a colored showerhead and i received colored ice cubes... the seller will not grant a refund because he or she says i received the showerhead... i didnt pay a lot for the showerhead but the seller has some nerve to question me rather than try to make things right... my third and last gripe is that there is no way to talk to a live person at tophatter... they are cowards hiding behind their damn email system... if i want to talk to a live person i should be able to... they should bit be allowed to conduct business in this manner.
Answer: There is also the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION that can help with these types of problems
Answer: You have to read the descriptions. It will tell you if it's real or plated.
Answer: Do not deal with this company,,, all jewelery is crap n cheap
Answer: Tophatter will screw you over. Shop Amazon or overstock.
Answer: Good luck! Tophatter rippes off the sellers so they are not going to be very likely to return your money.
Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
Answer: Yes! Sale of counterfeit items is prohibited. If you are concerned about the authenticity of an item purchased on the platform, you may return it for up to 30 days from delivery. See full details on our return policy here: http://tinyurl.com/h7xokwj.
