Took my money and sent me a voucher. When I got to the hotel, there was no reservation. I was the second customer of otel.com turned away that day by the hotel, which had no available rooms and confirmed that Otel.com never attempted to book a room. otel.com told me they booked me at an alternative (inferior) motel for the same price, 3 hours away from where I was. I told them to screw off and refund my money. They haven't refunded my money and I have reported them to the Federal Trade Commission.

Was searching their site with the filter to allow pets... booked a property and called the hotel direct to reconfirm pets allowed and told NO.
Immediately (5 minutes) tried their customer service number which did not operate so used their live chat feature and explained the error and asked for a refund. Was told NO.
By the way, the confirmation form says under Cancellation Policies in BOLD: Free Cancellation - 2 Days Remaining. In fine print below it says "this product is non-refundable at this time"
I now have lost my $368 needed for a room to escape the hurricane approaching. This company should be ashamed of their practices!
I booked the Coco Key hotel in Florida at Dec. 27 2018, but when I check in and they said the booking was cancelled by Otel.com, I stay outside without hotel room with my family for few hours and didn't got fixed, they didn't help us book another hotel and didn't refund to me yet, I must book another hotel and paid the full price by myself. I waste another $200 to called Otel.com customer service because they just put me on hold, They are in Turkey, it charged international call, very bad service. I will report it as most as I can, and ask my lawyer anything we can do?

WARNING: Do not do business with these scammers! My wife and I booked a hotel through Otel.com. When the pandemic resulted in border closures, we were forced to contact Otel.com about receiving a refund for our trip. Several weeks later, we finally received an email from MetGlobal (parent company) informing us that the hotel would issue a refund and therefore, we would not be refunded by Otel.com. We contacted the hotel directly and they advised us that 100% of all bookings had been cancelled and refunded in full to all third party booking companies. We were also told that a booking was never made by Otel.com and that the voucher number they provided to us was invalid. After this was stated to Otel.com, they hung up the phone and will not return emails. Our credit card was charged in full by Otel.com. We are currently pursuing legal means to be refunded.
Fraud! Tried to book a hotel for Vegas through Otel.com. Once I selected the law rate and entered all of my information and credit card information it redirected me back to the start with almost double the cost of the same room! I clicked to speak to a customer service representative. I received Tolga out of Istanbul, Turkey. Tolga was absolutely the WORST customer service representative I have ever dealt with. They said there was no manager, 1-800 phone number and if I called Turkey in the morning to speak with a manager Tolga said he would be answering my call. I would give no-stars, but it does not let me.
This is FRAUD! Stay away!
I booked with Otel.com and then called the hotel after only receiving a "voucher". The hotel has absolutely no information about me or my reservation. When I talked to someone on live chat the they told me I would need to submit a request. I am extremely nervous I will go and not have a room. Will never use Orel again...
I booked a fully refundable hotel for a stay in May 2020, which I cancelled almost 2 full months before we were due to arrive. When cancelling and requesting a cash refund, the cancellation confirmation email stated they had automatically converted it to a voucher and I'd have to email to request a cash refund.
After several back and forths over email with them offering +10% and then +15% on top of the voucher, they eventually agreed to process a refund which could take up to 60 days.
60 days have passed and, despite chasing several times I hadn't had a response, so raised a dispute with Amex. They upheld this until Otel.com disputed it and send back all the documentation and emails PRIOR to my request to cancel and states I broke their booking terms. They failed to include the numerous emails which confirm they are processing a cash refund.
I get travel agents and low cost booking sites are under significant strain right now, but this behaviour and attitude is sly and underhanded. Judging by the amount of reviews on here along the same subject - I'd imagine I'm not the exception!
Someone should do something about otel.com. It's obviously a scam and they scam people everyday. They ruined my family vacation and i had to pay again for a room. No one responds to emails. Impossible to reach them. A scam.
They stole more than £1500 from me. During the pandemic, unable to travel to London, I was forced to cancel my booking. They never replied to any message, never answered the phone. Grabbed my money, and hid in their caves. THEY ARE THIEVES! But beware, because they are still operating!
This company is very unscrupulous. I booked a room for 5 nights, for an event that was subsequently cancelled due to COVID-19. I called the hotel to find out if they were open, because a lot of hotels were closed. They said that all of the reservations had been refunded, but that my reservation had been cancelled by Agoda.com, which is an agent of Otel.com. The hotel said they had not received any money for my reservation. I had never requested cancellation, nor had I ever heard of Agoda. I sent several messages to Otel and they said that their booking agent would have to approve a refund. They didn't tell me who that was, but since I already knew, I sent Agoda a message. So far, nothing has been done and I haven't received any more communication. There are many people in this situation and there is a Facebook group for people scammed by Otel, trying to help each other get what is due us.
A scam operation. It appears the they make their money by keeping what you pay and not passing it on to the hotel. I cancelled a reservation a week ago which the hotel says is fully refundable, but they had not received payment. These guys are trying to hang onto the money and not pass it on to the hotel. My bad for not reading all the other bad reviews. When I told them I would post bad reviews if they didn't notify the hotel of the cancellation they said they had passed my money on to the "hotel supplier" but they refused to tell me who that might be. They won't tell me why it is not refundable when the hotel says it is.
They cancelled my room without a reason and they still didn't send the money back!
On their facebooksite the reviews are even worden!

All of our flights were canceled due to a strike in Buenos Aires - we planned to stay at a hotel booked here. After the 2 day strike, we planned to go to the hotel but we couldnt get flights for another 2 days due to the backlog. We called there customer service several times of this hotel and they were really unhelpful and awful. We explained about this situation due to unforeseen circumstances but they were uninterested. We lost like $800USD!
This company is extremely poor with customer service and is not interested in helping anyone. Please avoid 100% this company! Never use them!
I booked an attractive deal with Bed and BREAKFAST and was surprised that it will be the same cost as Bed only but why should I care.
When I received the voucher, it had 'room only' and i did live chat but and agent (or a program) by the name of 'Ece' kept telling me that my voucher says room only and had the nerve to ask me for screenshots!
Seem like unlike booking.com, agoda, expedia, makemytrip, nustay etc. with otel you need screenshots or you will not get what you booked!
I tried to find the hotel I booked in again on their website to show them and take screenshots but, of course, it was not there any longer. However, I found the attached picture of another hotel showing how they scam people. As you can see, same room for same dates while if you take it with breakfast IT WILL ACTUALLY BE CHEAPER! Where did you ever see anything like that on honest websites. This is how Otel.com lure you and make you book without thinking like they did with me
I booked a room at the Chelsea Hotel in Toronto using Trivago. I thought I was booking through hotels.com, which is fairly well established, but it wasnt until I got my confirmation that I realized Id booked through otel.com.
Having never heard of otel.com, I did a search of reviews and felt a pit in my stomach when I read all the horrible experiences people had with this company.
Luckily for us, our reservation promptly went through to the Chelsea Hotel without issue, and the room was about half the price of what the hotel charges on its website. Furthermore, our itinerary changed, and we had to cancel our reservation. Again, the refund was prompt and painlessno questions asked.
I wouldnt hesitate to use otel.com in the future. Whatever issues the company was having appear to be resolved, and our experience was highly favourable.
I have made 2 reservations on 7 and 31 December from OTEL.COM When I called these hotels, they told me that my reservations were not visible on their system. I called OTEL.COM back quickly; however they stalled me for days. They finally canceled my reservations without any reason. They have still not paid my money back. Also I missed the chance of early booking. The price of related hotels rised and my loss was more than $ 500. I'm gonna have to go to court for all of these. During the state of this world we were unable to leave our state and the destination state was on lockdown. We could not goon our vacation. No refund given! Not even a partial! This is unacceptable and poor business. I would give negative 5 stars on this process from the beginning. The room couldn't even be verified until 2 weeks before the date. A week before we were on lockdown. It's not a sit i would recommend to the devil
Booked stay in Amsterdam for the 23rd March for 3 nights. Due to covid all travel was cancelled, so I requested a refund for the fees paid. Before this I had tried to print the voucher in the email confirmation, which wouldn't print( alarm bells). After five weeks got reply to request for refund, stating it was" not them, but the supplier" had refused the refund. Disgraceful behaviour hiding behind "supplier" in the current (or any) situation. Smells of total lack of professionalism. Please do not use this site. Read the reviews, I wish I had!
Unforunately even though you are supposed to be able to cancel, which you are not able to do thru the hotel, noone was available to cancel thru Otel.com site or phone number. Which has left me with a 700 charge on my credit card, no trip and my credit card says it is valid since I allowed the charge. Please do not use.
