Booked a room a a "great price" until I got the confirmation and and discovered all the fees. I tried to cancel immediately and got the runaround. The agent would not let me speak to a supervisor. I would suggest that you do not use these people as there are so many legit websites that offer similar rates and no BS.
Had to cancel reservation due to COVID. Was told to cancel with hotel. After cancelling several days in advance, I was told there would be no refund from getaroom. After speaking with a customer service representative and explaining the situation, I was told I would be able to get a refund.

DO NOT USE! IN MY OPINION THIS IS A SCAM! 40% mark-up over contacting the hotel directly AND then they will not allow refund or cancellation! RIDICULOUS! THEY KEEP ALL OF THE MONEY - Don't even send it to the hotel if you cancel reservation. They will not provide you with a mailing address or any info about their company when requested.

Wife booked a hotel, was quoted $85/night. NO indication that these leeches were going to tack on a bogus $50 "taxes and fees" charge. When contacted, they said "you booked it" and refused to do anything reasonable. Yeah, that's a nice "markup" for basically doing NOTHING. From their reviews this is one company NEVER to do business with. I've booked with major sites many times, no "surprises". Never heard of these jokers, you do biz with them at your risk apparently. Confirmed with hotel that $85 rate is their regular rate... GetARoom refuses to refund the scam charges. AVOID THIS SITE!

We called *******732 under the impression we had called Hilton reservations. On the call we asked for Hilton and prefaced the call with our intent to use Hilton points; we had intended to book a trip with Hilton Honors points. The customer services representative introduced himself as working for "Guest Reservations." He NEVER indicated that he was representing getaroom.com. Call was placed on 7/19/20 at 19:23. When we asked if we could use our Hilton Honors points (again, under the impression that we were speaking with a representative of the Hilton), we were told, ON A RECORDED LINE, that the room did not qualify for the use of such points. It clearly didn't because we were booking through a 3rd party. When we arrived to the hotel, we were told that the reservation was made through a 3rd party (this was the first time we realized a 3rd party was involved). We had had no idea until then. The email confirmation that we were promised was never sent. The only way we even knew that the 3rd party was getaroom.com is because we called the number back that evening and asked for that info - it was reluctantly given to us by the representative with whom we speak at that time. So disappointing to be taken advantage of. To getaroom.com - you are dealing with fellow human beings, please be honest and transparent in your transactions. What a shame.

I made a reservation with what I thought was the hotel, only to discover when the charge came through that it was in US$. The Hotel, and I, are in Canada and the rate was quoted in CDN$. I immediately cancelled the reservation, but have received no refund, and NO help from the Company. This is a complete scam and criminal. But I have no recourse I do not believe.

I booked a standard room. Making sure that the man who I was on the phone with, made the room close to the lobby & everything was accessible for my handicap mom. We got here, checked in. Our room was on the 2nd floor pretty far down the hall. Also, nothing about it showed that it was handicap accessible. This was the last thing I wanted to deal with when I got to the hotel. I also feel bad for the staff! They had to do all of these extra things because Get A Room didn't do their part! It was very disappointing.

Please never ever use this website to book. Not sure how I got led from the hotel website to theirs without realizing, but they charged me an extra 300$ fora 2 night reservation which included a 218$ reservation fee which was20% of my reservation. On calling them about it they said it was a standard fee and refused to refund it. Also keep in mind the room rates and taxes they charge are much more than standard hotel rates and other third party booking websites. I have booked so many times before through Expedia and Orbitz and never ever been charged this extra exorbitant reservation charges. This website is a BIG BIG SCAM!

Somewhat satisfied. Wasn't comfortable enough with clerk as to know if this reservation is through the hotel and is reputable as I had never heard of this service before. Thought I was directly dealing with hotel chain services so am somewhat leery if everything in the reservation will work out smoothly. This reservation is for my daughter & her fiancé in one room and my hubby & Me in the other room before they fly back home so want everything to be a smooth transition!
Made a reservation to the wrong location I called literally 1 minute later and they said "I'm sorry based on the cancellation policy we can cancel but your reservation is not refundable this is just TGE WORSE website to use... be careful before y'all used this horrible website

If I had just showed up to the hotel the same day and asked for a room, which they had plenty of availability, I would have paid $124 plus taxes. Instead my total bill was $222. This is not adding up and feels like a scam. Do not use getaroom.com.

Was quoted $769.44 for 4 rooms for 2 nights which I consented to, and then they added $354.36 in fees for their service which I was not informed of and they refuse to refund the money to my card. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. Do not use GetARoom as they are dishonest and will rob you, and their customer service representative doesn't speak English and has a rooster crowing in the background! Was promised a return call when I complained. 3 days later, no return call. I called back and they said they were still working on it and to be patient. Still waiting...

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
