When you book through this which is sometimes hidden in the hotels website or in the web address reservations.com. When you have a problem with the hotel the hotel says" this is a prepaid reservation". They can not adjust. I was charged too much and unable to get a refund for a bad hotel stay. It's hard to identify when you reserve so buyer beware!

They will over charge you claiming its taxes and fees and the customer service will not help you out. We paid 471 for two night stay at a $160 a night room. Like someone else said, they deserve negative stars. Worse company ever!

While looking for a room while crossing these United States. I thought was on the website Kayak but turns out it moved me to a website called rent a room. I picked a motel room that we had been very satisfied across the US. I put in Henrietta, Oklahoma. Went through all the steps to request a certain room and then pay for it with a credit card. Not till I tap that last button did I realize that it was Henrietta, New York. Then it was impossible for me to undo what I had done. It took 5 trys to get the refund.

I made a reservation online at a Hampton Inn. Unfortunately, I reserved a room in a hotel in Ashland, Virginia instead of Ashland, Oregon which is where I wanted to stay. I realized my error right away and called getaroom.com to cancel the reservation. I was told that there were no refunds possible. I explained to several customer service representatives that I had made the reservation in error less than an hour ago, that I would not and could not use the room, and that I wanted a refund. Each custopmer service representative refused my request, stating company policy. I appealed to them with reason -- I could not use the room, no one would be out money, and I again requested a refund. It was refused. When I received my next credit card statement getaroom.com had indeed charged me the fullcost of the hotel room.
Your company policy aside, charging me for this room was arbitary and unfair.
I encourage everyone to avoid using this company! They are sneaky and when you search for a hotel room it "appears" that you are booking directly with the hotel, but you are instead dealing with this sham company.
Do not use getaroom.com.

Took extremely long on the phone, hard to understand each of the representatives I spoke with. Specifically asked if I had met all the requirements to be able to enter hotel and go into my room immediately which they assured me I had. Upon arrival I was unable to check in and needed an additional deposit for which a chipped credit card was required with no exceptions or other payment methods.
Unable to locate my chipped credit card I couldn't secure the room and had to fight for a refund which is still 5 days later not in my account. Also didn't get a room.
Horrible service, had a lack of information and alaround rude and unhelpful.

I booked a room for 2 nights and paid for 2 nights parking as well but when I checked into the hotel was told the parking hadn't been paid for so I had to pay again. Not happy at all. Will never use Getaroom again and will be telling everyone I know to stay away from them

Horrible - I travel for my job... around 40 weeks a year and stay at various motels... this was the worst experience ever in making a reservation. The process was not streamlined for the ease of the customer. I had to review the location, the town, the motel, the type of room and the address of the motel multiple times, with the person making my reservation... it was like she had no clue what I was even talking about. Just kept asking the same questions over and over... each time I thought we were about at the end of the nightmare, she would read a disclaimer... I kept saying I understand... then she would read the disclaimer again. Never again!

I was not pleased when before reservation was complete, I was informed that the reservation was
No longer able to be cancelled. We were also not happy with the room. The a/c was loud and not efficient. The TV did not work. Although the desk clerk very kindly brought a remote that gave us a station, we soon discovered it could not be turned off.
Not a clear cost, paid more than what it was worth, told breakfast was available but no... tub was backed up and was interupted 5 times and never offered another room... carpet dirty.

The hotel, is run down, the outside is dirty. The hotel clerk told us that the hotel is located in the seediest part of town, and that is why there are homeless hanging out and sleeping outside of the hotel. The rooms are dirty, the bathroom is disgustingly filthy! I am disappointed in sitejabber, they should be more responsible toward their customers and know about the properties that they are dealing with. I have never seen such a filthy, poorly run hotel. I will never use sitejabber again, nor will I recommend that others use them.

We were greeted and treated well. Rooms were clean, attractive, and comfortable. Service was efficient and friendly.
I was routed to this site/business they kayak.com and booked a room complete with reservation confirmation numbers from Kayak. Upon arriving after hours of driving alone with a child, exhausted and ready to rest, that there was no reservation made in my name and that even though I had used my credit card to do so I would need to pay again and at that, an increased Leo d from what I had previously "purchased". The front desk clerk said that it happens several times a day and that this company was probably scamming me. I don't know who is doing the scamming but I most definitely did not get what I paid for through this site and after many attempts and avenues of contact, I ended up disputing it through my bank because I literally never once was able to speak with a human representative of Kayak or Getaroom. Kayak sh ou Ltd he held accountable for their choice to not verify the sites/services they recommend to you and Getaroom should be held accountable for the inconvenience/disturbance their "service" actually causes including monetary compensation for those they scam. Someone within this chain of command is responsible and I cannot honestly say I know which it is, but this experience caused me to discontinue use of Kayak and to warn everyone else against it. Have some pride and take some responsibility in what you do and stop scamming hard-working people out of their money.

When I called I was under the belief that I was dealing with holiday inn directly. The web site was very misleading. The person I spoke with did not speak clear English. I am not happy that I was charged $20 for a convenience fee. Very misleading

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
