ABSOLUTE SCAM

Absolute scam. Asked for security check. Sent back email with info on time. Tried to call, constantly on hold for more than an hour. TEN hours later they email me that I did not send reply on time and that the price of the ticket increased for 100$. I took screenshots of the emails I sent and pointed that they were sent on time. They tried to weasel out, I just lost my patience and cancelled the transaction. Total fraud, they get you to commit with low prices, then later they ask for more money.

Hi, Branka Panic. While processing your reservation, we received a notification of High Risk because you were not the cardholder and the cardholder's name was Eli Mohamad. In addition, the cardholder is different from the passenger traveling. It is our responsibility to make sure that this charge is not done fraudulently. In this example, the passenger was found to have no connection to the cardholder. This raised our suspicion that the card may have been stolen and as a result, we requested additional verification. Although we received the Authorization form in a timely manner, we did not receive your Security Check response until 4 am EST the next day. As stated in our email, we need to receive both the Security Check and Authorization form by 11:59 pm EST, as fares are subject to change. Since the fare had gone up, we notified you of the fare increase. As we discussed, you were not willing to accept the cost of the ticket. As a result, we went ahead and canceled your reservation. Honestly, I have booked with so many other online travel agencies such as Vayama, My trip, and Expedia and this has to be the worst of it all. I booked a reservation online and maybe 5 hours after, before receiving even my e-ticket or any confirmation, I tried to cancel it. It was so hard to get in touch with someone from their team and when I finally did, the person answered and said there is a $15 charge and when I asked what exactly the charge is for, he said he will speak to his supervisor and hung up on me.
I called back a few hours and was put in touch with a Supervisor, Michael, who was no help. He just gave me the company policy off a script and there was no reasoning with him at all.
What I don't understand is that what are they charging his hidden fee for when the reservation is being cancelled within 24 hours of the booking? And a ticket hasn't even been confirmed at this point so what is the point? Honestly, this taught me to always pay a little extra and book it directly with the website or go through a very trusted online travel agency.

Irresponsible.

I had purchased two way air-ticket for my family(my wife and two kids) via faredepot.com on 20th/21st Feb 2018 for 2954. 45. As a travel agent - they need to be on top of everything. There is no way one can request "special meal" or "seating request" even when we are paying very high for the air tickets(we made the booking well in advance). On top of it - multiple times - our itinerary got changed by KLM/Airfrance and Delta and these folks(faredepot.com) are clueless - they are telling us when we are already aware of it. So what exactly they are here in this world for? For every air ticket - agents and website get some commission and it's being expected that they will provide some services - but they didn't provide any services at all. 5 times our itinerary has been changed and we have to change our plans. If our trip is increasing - that defeats the very purpose of buying tickets at higher rate or in advance.
faredepot.com might say airlines can change it any time lablablaah... but - what kind of customer service they provided. We have to deal with 3 airlines - JetAirways, Delta, Airfrance and when the itinerary got changed in the past... to deal with Joon also... they never helped us in anyway... look at the overall itinerary that have been booked by them... its' full of issues.

Booked a flight, they claimed my bank needed to provide authorization on the charge. I called my bank and they did, then emailed them. They claimed they never received my authorization and now the ticket is $200 more.

Consumer Affairs should investigate their business practices.

Horrible service

Worst customer service
February 9, 2018

Horrible experience with their customer service. I needed to change my flight dates or cancel it depending on the costs for the dates I was looking into due to a medical appointment falling in my flight duration, they would ignore my requests for the dates I requested THREE TIMES. It took three emails referencing the dates requested before they would get me cost estimates for the dates. And even despite that, they still only got me the cost estimate for 2 out of 3 dates. Additionally, they would say that they had contacted me over the phone to discuss options when this never happened. NOR did they even have a phone number to contact me on file. They are the most unprofessional travel agency I have ever dealt with. In the end, I could not even cancel my flights since the costs difference for the dates they provided was ridiculously over budget (an additional $1200-$2200) I requested to cancel (my flight is in Apr 2018). And despite this request being sent starting from end of Jan 2018 and going into Feb 9,2018 (that's how long this whole process has taken). They told me the airline flights are non-refundable... despite how on the airline cancellation policy, it said that any flights cancelled in that timeframe should be refundable... JUST A HORRIBLE COMPANY. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. COMPLETELY RIPPED ME OFF. I WILL NEVER BE USING THEM AGAIN AND WILL BE TELLING ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

Incompetent service

The original flight was canceled by airline. FareDepot offer replacement via Washington and we agree but the actual reservation shows connection in Chicago. They refuse to admit their mistake and now we have to spend more hours in flight. Very incompetent team. Spend hours to explain the situation and 14 emails. No help at all. Never to use again.

Received an email stating my wife and 2-year old son's airline e-tickets were confirmed along with a record locator number. On the day of our trip, when attempting to check in, only my 2-year old son's ticket was purchased and not my wife's ticket. Faredepot claimed my credit card was declined. I received no correspondence from Faredepot stating my credit card was declined. Even though they claimed my credit card was declined, they still sold me my 2-year old son's international ticket WITHOUT an accompanying adult ticket. Children under 5 years of age may not travel alone under any circumstances. Yet, Faredepot sold me a ticket for my 2-year old. My wife had to pay for an adult international ticket at the ticket counter of the airport on the day of their flight which cost over $2500. They claimed they contacted me immediately about the declined card. I was not contacted. I contacted my credit card company and they have no record of my credit card being declined, only a single charge for my 2 year-old son's ticket without an accompanying adult. They told me they would refund me my money. They never did. They claimed they would investigate and they would get back to me. They never did. Liars and deceitful business. DO NOT do business with Faredepot.

DO NOT PURCHASE TICKETS FROM FareDepot!

These guys are fraud and they send fake iternary and confirmation mails.

I tried to purchase a ticket yesterday to travel abroad and i saw ticket prices very less on FareDepot, so i gave my debit card details to purchase the ticket.

Then i received a mail saying my booking is received.

Later today morning i received a mail to confirm a transaction of 3.28 as a confirmation for "Security Charge amount".

I replied them by sending a screen shot of transaction of 3.28.

I received a mail saying that my booking is confirmed and my ticket will be sent shortly and i was charged 900 dollars.

I didnt receive any ticket from them and meanwhile my bank send me a mail that a fraud activity in recent transactions is being done and respond it.

So guys Don't Purchase anything from them.

Complete Fraud.

I wish i could just spent few minutes before purchasing the ticket.

P. S: I called my bank to stop that transaction which is in pending.
Also i mailed faredepot to cancel my reservation.
NO response, so i had called the customer service and asked to cancel my reservation and she cancelled it.

P. P. S: First time in my life i had given a review.
I took some time and effort to write a review for first time, so that no other person faces the same pain that i had gone through.

This website is not only a joke but also a fraud. I wasted over 2 hours of my time chasing tickets that were showing available ( 4-5 seats available) and each time I tried to book them they were no longer available. I changed destinations and pricing and nothing worked. When I called customer service, the girl was useless and unable to help at all. Wasted time! I used multiple travel sites for over 10 years, but this one is literally a joke. STAY away and don't waste your time.

When I read about all the customer service issues and unexpected cancellations, I was very worried about the FareDepot tickets I had booked. However, my $580 + $20 cancellation insurance tickets worked just fine and saved me a lot of money. I flew out of Portland, OR to London, and then returned from Dublin to Portland, OR. Just as a precaution, I went directly to the airline's website (Air Canada) and provided my passport information for the tickets and also created email notification alerts so that I wouldn't be caught by surprise if there were any changes/cancellations.

It sounds like you people fall into two camps with FareDepot. Those who don't experience any issues, like I did, or you run into hiccups and then it's a nightmare. It's risky, but for us it paid off.

Don't buy with Fare Depot if at all possible. Trying to get my ticket refunded and here's the deal:
Ticket- $800
Cancellation fee- $500
Total spent thus far- $1300
Total refunded to me- $500
Total money spent in all- $800.

And they cant see a problem here.

Oh my lord. They managed to drop my cancellation fee by $100 (So $100 refund so far) but are now saying I cannot be refunded at all because I lost my debit card and had to get a new one.

Told me hed send all the old card information and asked I contact my bank. I was like " Okay, tell me what they're going to do? They don't custom order debit card number its not like they can send me back my old card. Further more how are you going to expect them to at all relate to the policies of FareDepot? I'm not calling my bank that's ridiculous." None of this is in an aggressive tone, just incredulous.

I been trying to get this refund for weeks and my flight was supposed to leave Oct. 4th. It's Oct. 3rd.

No problems

Me and 3 friends traveled to Greece from southeast US in May 2017. We all booked our flights using the FareDepot.com app. We had no problems. When I first booked, I had entered my email address incorrectly and didn't receive a confirmation. I called when I realized what I did, was able to get someone on the phone fairly quickly, and they resent my confirmation without any problems. I kept track of my flights because the time changed frequently and I had no issues with the airlines. Seems like a lot of people have bad experiences but my experience was the complete opposite so I wanted to share.

Unorthodox billing

Booked flights thru FareDepot because of their price. All seemed to go well until later that night I received a [not so straightforward] email asking me to check my credit card for a charge and provide my bank with a verification code. Needless to say, the bank never heard of such a thing. I then called FareDepot at the number provided and was told that they were closed and to call back during business hours.
Next morning I called them and was told that I needed to reply to the email with the amount of the charge, and the tickets would be processed. Soon, to my surprise I received yet another email from them with a Word form attached asking for my credit card info to be returned via email. Plain old unsecured email. I called them back again, and although it was quite difficult to understand the person, I got the jist that this is the way they do business. I told them that I was refusing to send my credit card info unsecured, and he said "have a nice day".
I will NOT be booking any tickets with fareDepot again, no matter how much cheaper they are.

I don't understand how this company has such great reviews on Google... unless they are deleting them? We had a nightmare experience and almost did not fly. Fare Depot gave us inaccurate information about adding an infant seat to our ticket and it resulted in a terrible and extremely stressful 3 hours at the airport. I will never book through them again.

I'll give them 2 stars because the gentleman I spoke to during our 3 hour horrific ordeal at the airport was at least nice to us on the phone and agreed to stay on the phone with me until the problem was resolved (which was probably 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours). But he also threatened the airlines which made the airlines threaten him in return... so that's fun.

You can call and call and no one will answer. You leave a voicemail and no one ever gets back to you. That is extremely sketchy right there. They may be the cheapest and if you don't have any special circumstances, they might be easy to deal with as the cheapest, but if you do have special circumstances or are traveling international, buyers beware.

Bait and Switch

This company does not honor their own fares. They will provide you with a confirmation and then in the upcoming days tell you they have had security issues lately and they are unable to honor the fair, but they can still book the flight for you at a higher cost. Other travel sites do not seem to have these issues. The worst part is they don't even tell you if you don't reach out to them that they never booked your ticket. Customer Care is nil, they really only have what seems like an outsourced call center to book new flights. Even if you think you found the best fare on their site, beware as it will end up costing you more.
