Though I had no urgency, I still wanted to purchase my tickets to Canada under my budget. It’s always good to save money. When my manager recommended I search on google, I found FareDepot.com. As I browsed the website I found it to be a decent travel site with all the usual things you see. I searched for a round trip ticket for 2 people and surprisingly, the tickets were very affordable in my budget compared to the other searches I did. I jumped on the deal and am glad I did.
Booked two tickets for overseas. They attempted to charge my credit card 8 times. Four times cleared, the next was declined because it was over the limit and the last three times it was manually entered attempting to charge. Spoke to two different people in customer service they had no clue. Finally spoke to Robert, a manager. Advised him all pending charges, almost $8,000, had to be removed immediately as I have several bills set up for auto pay on that card. Advised me it was taken care of. Three days later charges still on my card. Discover card had to intervene, remove the charges and issue me a new card. This was so not worth the aggrivation!
I've booked with faredepot this morning, and received my booking confirmation and itinerary. I called my family and arranged everything for holidays. After 5,6 hours faredepot send me email requesting me to pay additional $150 for some other flight, because they dont have seats on my flight. Thats not my problem and its up to them to find me some other flight for same price. That's not how you treat your customers and do business
It took them 3 days to book us a flight after ours was denied. And still didn't do it! Don't even think about buying tickets through them. They tell us allow us 1-2 hours already 72 hours!
It's the old Bait & Switch. They quote you one price, then charge a small amount to your card to "verify that it's your card", but even if you immediately verify, OOPS -- price went up. I had almost $5,000 in bookings that they tried to increase the price on. I told them I did NOT authorize the charge (and called my bank to tell them the same) and they charged me anyways. Now I have to fight with the bank to remove these fraudulent charges. I have no idea how this company gets away with this. Read reviews online -- MANY people saying the same thing!
I have received the most abysmal and unprofessional customer service from Faredepot.com. Not only will I lose hundreds of dollars on a cancelled international flight, but the lack of follow up and broken promises to respond to my calls and emails, is absolutely astounding. They have a customer service line that must be overwhelmed with volume/complaints because only 1 of my 12+ calls have ever been answered by a representative – the other calls go to a voicemail i. E. black hole of nothingness.
I travel internationally at least 4 times a year. I will NEVER book with faredepot again. I do not believe nor can I trust that they are equipped with the right resources or business ethics to assist their customers with basic queries. I will be advising all of my network – including my expat friends living overseas – to never use faredepot. I am confident I can source equally priced flights with far better service.
FareDepot.com is the best website that has happened to me whilst, I was searching for one of myonline flight booking to India. Not only did the website provide me with cheap air tickets but also prompt services in terms of email notifications and customer care. My travel booking was seamless.
Hi Christian,
We're glad to hear you had a pleasant experience. Customer service is very important to us! Feel free to use the Promo Code: JUN15 if booking your next trip in the month of June to get even more discounts. Thanks!
Sincerely,
The Fare Depot Team
Be mindful of the fact that FAREDEPOT will always try to find an excuse like failing email connections, failing calls and other tricks, not to honor the agreed ticket fare and that they will lie over and over again and the reps will contradict each other. Horrible customer service.
If you are crazy enough book with them and loose your deals. I wished I had used another online service like cheapoair or expedia to book by flights.
Avoid Faredepot.com
Purchased airline tickets on 04 September 2015. Credit card processed transaction completely. Received email confirmation that flights were ticketed.
I'm parallel company sent email to secondary traveller asking for a credit card verification. This appeared to be pretext to cancel tickets once price went up.
On 08 September 2015 received cancellation email. When calling to solve, they only offered to sell tickets at higher price. Feels like a bait and switch tactic
My mother who is in her 70's was not comfortable to fly. I tried to ensure that I would take her for the family trip comfortably. So I shared my problem with Kevin from FareDepot, who understood every bit of my problem and did all the necessity to make my mother's travel a comfortable one. My mother was extremely satisfied with all that was done for her and now she feels like travelling through
FareDepot.com. Thank you FareDepot.com for making my family vacation complete.
Worst customer service company I ever dealt with. I believe that iit is a scam of a travel agency. Please DO NOT BOOK your travel with faredepot.com. Spread the word around so that we can get faredepot.com out of business ASAP. I am still fighting with them to get back my $4100. They are registered in Delaware and that should be a Red flag.
Great prices and prompt service would make anyone a loyal customer. The same applies for me. My first booking with this website was when I booked my tickets to France, which was an urgent one. And I got my tickets to Europe within my budget. Now I have to travel to Turkey for a long family vacation. Though I am not in a hurry, I would love my tickets to be cheap. So I got it done through FareDepot.com for a second time now.
Absolute scam. Asked for security check. Sent back email with info on time. Tried to call, constantly on hold for more than an hour. TEN hours later they email me that I did not send reply on time and that the price of the ticket increased for 100$. I took screenshots of the emails I sent and pointed that they were sent on time. They tried to weasel out, I just lost my patience and cancelled the transaction. Total fraud, they get you to commit with low prices, then later they ask for more money.
Hi, Branka Panic. While processing your reservation, we received a notification of High Risk because you were not the cardholder and the cardholder's name was Eli Mohamad. In addition, the cardholder is different from the passenger traveling. It is our responsibility to make sure that this charge is not done fraudulently. In this example, the passenger was found to have no connection to the cardholder. This raised our suspicion that the card may have been stolen and as a result, we requested additional verification. Although we received the Authorization form in a timely manner, we did not receive your Security Check response until 4 am EST the next day. As stated in our email, we need to receive both the Security Check and Authorization form by 11:59 pm EST, as fares are subject to change. Since the fare had gone up, we notified you of the fare increase. As we discussed, you were not willing to accept the cost of the ticket. As a result, we went ahead and canceled your reservation. We appreciate your understanding and feedback and we hope you give us another chance. You can call us at 866-860- 2929 or email us at Reservations@faredepot.com. Thank you, FareDepot Support.
It’s rare to find a travel website that always has a great travel package deal along with cheap tickets. FareDepot.com offered me the same all year round. Thank you for the offer & the deal I was looking for.
I had a budget to maintain for my last year annual family vacation. My wife suggested me to check out this website, and I did. I was stunned at the ticket prices and went ahead and booked six tickets for my family. I was not expecting this cheap pricing. It completely came within my budget. I am happy with this transaction and will come back again for another vacation.
I used FareDepot.com on a last minute vacation, and I was thoroughly overwhelmed. Their website was simple and easy to use, both mobile and desktop versions. I had no anxiety with tickets and the price was unbeatable. I have already used FareDepot.com in the past and am looking at flights regularly! I highly recommend.
Thanks,
Anthony G
They cancelled my flights less then 2 weeks to my trip and didn't call me to let me know or email me about it. When i called them to complain they were impossible to understand, and when i asked to be transferred to someone with an understandable English, the company rep refused and hung up the phone on me. I wont be using them again in the foreseeable future.
I wish I read these reviews before booking with them. I found them through Skyscanner booked tickets and they contacted me next day to verify card. I actually spoke to an agent which was a good thing. Then I wanted to change my outgoing date and I contacted the airline. They told me to contact faredepot. After numerous calls 4 days later they contact me. They then tell me it will cost $1,500 of change charges which they tell have nothing to do with them but to do with no fare available in my class and the airline change fee. I was shocked, they told me to fill out a credit card authorization form via email. I then called virgin Atlantic who are the airline they told me not only there are plenty of tickets in my class but they do not charge a change fee that's all fare depot. I then emailed back the dorm telling them what I was told and that I would like to speak to a manager. Still haven't heard back from them. I smell a scam!
Since I was visiting FareDepot.com for the first time, I had a couple of questions that I wanted to sort before proceeding with the online booking. I called up the customer care department and a lady named Liza attended my call and helped me out. I was happy with the co-operation she showed me.
Hey Faredepot, you know what? I was really hesitant at first to click to your website out of several travel websites I've visited because you have the lowest price around ($50 less). But I was really happy when I found out that the price quoted on your website was really true. Unlike other websites that will give their price as the lowest and then when you try to book it, the price instantly increases to about a hundred dollars or more. So I'm booked, confirmed, and a happy traveler. Thank you... Faredepot!

Answer: Don't think you can select your seat through Fare Depot. You have to work directly with the airline for that.
Answer: Hi Sarah. We understand your frustration. But, please understand something - Since we are dealing directly with the Airline, all the information you give us must be accurate and correct in order to fly. If there is something wrong with the information you provided, and we must make a change to your reservation, the airline charges a penalty fee. As it is our duty and responsibility, we provide you with the information you need and quote you the Airline's penalty fee as per the rules at the time.

Hi Cindy W. We apologize for the inconvenience in your travel booking experience. While processing your booking, we got a notification of High Risk. We sent a Security Check form to verify your flying and payment details and to notify that your flight is nonrefundable. We have clearly mentioned that this verification must be completed before any e-Ticket changes. For the reason that we have not received your acknowledgement in a timely manner, your fare increased and could not be processed. The instructions were very clear on what was expected from you. We appreciate your understanding and feedback and we hope you give us another chance. You can call us at 866-860-2929 or email us at Reservations@faredepot.com.
