Thought I like to share my experience
October 13, 2019

I wanted to write this review after many months passed after I had a successful flight through FareDepot only to go over my experience and hopefully it helps someone. First of all, I believe FareDepot CAN (emphasis on CAN) be ok IF you do not make mistakes and remain vigilante. My experience as followed:
I reached them through Skyscanner and saw that they had a flight to Rio de Janeiro for $680 or something like that with United and layover in Houston from the USA. All other sites including United had the flight at $800 or more (apparently Faredepot was handing out a discount). I booked two tickets and I even picked my seats from the airplane map they had. Unbeknownst to me, I picked Economy premium seats or something like that which is extra. After I used my credit card (I don't recommend using a debit card), I googled the company and was alarmed by the negative reviews and bad experiences. I panicked. Luckily, I obtained my confirmation number and e-ticket that same night so I went to the United Airlines website and sure enough my reservation was showing up. However, I still called United to confirm and confirmed with them I had reservations. But, my seats were not selected ( i had selected them on Faredepot's site) so I was able to select my seats through United's website. I then expected that credit form some reviewers said they received or were supposed to receive but never did. However, that form never came (please have the person making the reservations use their credit card under their name or else Faredepot might have to verify with you that the card is not "fraudulent" and that is through the form you need to fill out). The next worry (based on reviews) was that United did not increase their price and or change the flight details (I ordered my tickets 2 months in advance). What I did was download the United App and I'm not kidding when I say I checked every day to make sure my confirmation number still showed up and the details didn't change. Well, fast forward to the day I had to fly, I was nervous thinking the worst (based on reviews) but luckily my brother and I traveled to and from Brazil with no issues and at a much lower rate. However, I was stressed for those two months before my flight so I don't think the stress was worth it. I think I was one of the lucky few.

FareDepot only gets you the reservation but if you need to modify ANYTHING from your reservations, that is when you may have issues (this included spelling errors so please make sure to check everything before submitting the payment if you end up buying with them). I hope this review helps someone out there. What's worse? Saving a few hundred or possibly losing thousands?

Good Experience for me!
May 26, 2017

Hi, just wanted to share my recent experience with Faredepot for others who were like me, who bought a ticket off Momondo and got scared after reading horrible reviews.

I was searching for multi-stop flights with a good (Japanese) airline company from SFO-NRT (Japan), NRT-SGN (Saigon, Vietnam), SGN-SFO and usually the price range for flights with ANA or JAL would be about $700-1000+. But to my surprise, I found one for $663.10 on Momondo through Faredepot. Mind you, I considered Momondo as a reputable app for locating good prices so I didn't think so much into it when I purchased the tickets off their site.

And like all the other reviews on this site, Faredepot sends me a booking confirmation email stating that it was not an e ticket confirmation and will send me a follow-up email with security questions if necessary. I thought that was strange so I just wanted to double check on google and saw massive amounts of bad reviews about Faredepot. I felt super bummed that I was perhaps scammed, but I wanted to see what happens next because I could totally go through my bank to resolve the issue if necessary.

The next morning, about 10 hours later, I received a e-ticket confirmation via email with all the reservation codes from the flights I have with certain airlines. So, I double check the reservation codes on ANA and United airline's websites and viola! My information was there from my seating assignments, to my meal plan, and my flights times/dates were accurate. I was thoroughly pleased to see everything was confirmed, but just to triple check if these codes were legit, I called ANA airlines to confirm my flight details and it was all there!

Not sure about everyone else's experience was, but mine was pleasant since there was no hiccups on their end and my flights were secured with an amazing price. I even double checked my credit card to see if they tried to pull a fast one there, and nope, they charged me the promised amount of $663.10)which is a steal)! Would I recommend Faredepot to my friends? Yes I would! But I would advise to always read carefully and to double check everything way ahead of your flight. Otherwise, it worked well for me! Thanks Faredepot, I will look forward to my next flight with you in the future.
P.S. This is my own review from my own experiences and I did not get any payment or discounts for writing this honest review. I just want to let others know about the legitimacy of this discounted airline tickets website and whether it works. Though I don't know about whether they respond quickly to their emails and phone calls if there were issues with their bookings, so I cannot tell you much there since I did not need to use those services.

Do not book with them!
May 26, 2017

I wish I would of seen this website before I tried to book through Faredepot.com. I booked flights for myself, husband, kids and friends between 5:50am - 6:15am and received a "booking received" confirmation. At 6:17pm I still had not received confirmation so I contacted them directly via phone and was told by Omar (might be misspelled) that he pulled up my reservations and to stay by my computer because a authorization email would be sent requesting that I confirm the temporary charge on my credit card following a form I would need to fill out with my passport information. I did receive these request and within an hour of them coming through I responded and provided all they needed. At 11:15pm and 12:02am I received messages via email that they did not receive my response and that the flights went up $20pp. I had proof that I responded and also sent them proof which I'm sure they received when it was processed since the form is filled out in a program that sends confirmation that you submitted. Another issue I had before billing was at the time of checkout I was given a coupon code of "welcome10" which at checkout was an invalid coupon. However because I wanted to confirm my flights I followed up with them right after. I was told 3 different reasons why my code didn't go through; 1. Technical error, 2. Only for travel to Australia or New Zealand, 3. Only at checkout it can be applied (which is what I did)! Well clearly this was bait and switch they reel you in and then tell you oh sorry it didn't work we can't apply it now. I tried coupon again at checkout just to see if it works and still doesn't so they are not being honest. I'm very upset at their process and respected it at first but to say I didn't respond to their request is complete insanity. I was able to find my booking directly through united airlines and it clearly stated that the flights I had booked were going to expire at midnight therefore I could of been ticketed in time had they not lied that they didn't receive my form that they clearly did receive since I got confirmation. Faredepot said that the tickets went up and to respond right away so they can ticket my flights. How convenient now I should respond right away and you will ticket me at your convenience since you can now make money off of me. They are a horrible travel website and I will now have to contact BBB. Please do not book through them!

Faredepot is the worse site
August 20, 2015

One star coz there is no negative rating. I would not even want to rate them with the experience I had.
I am not one to post on any forums at all but my disappointment with faredepot.com has forced me to do so. I had planned a trip to India earlier on in July for something urgent that came up so just like everyone else I checked a few different websites for the best rates on a return trip and my travel dates were 7th August to 15th August and of course faredepot.com had the best rate. Sure enough I bought the ticket from them to save some money and within a couple of days after purchasing the ticket I got an email from faredepot.comt asking me to confirm that I had 2 small deposit between $1 to $10 on my credit card so that they can process the amount of the ticket. I kept checking for the small deposits and they never occurred but on the contrary my Credit Card was charged for the whole amount on the ticket which was $1766. 96 and I also got an email with the status of Ticketed. I then went online the day before I had to travel to check in and I see that my flight is cancelled. I then go to faredepot.com site to see the status of my itinerary/flight. I see that it says on their site that my status is Ticketed and I have a Confirmation number as well as an option to send myself the itinerary again. I then called emirates which was the airline I was using to see what was going on. They said that the site/agent that booked your flight had cancelled it and there was no reason why that had happened. I then called faredepot.com and they were closed as they were in the Virgina and I was calling out of office hours. I had no option BUT to buy a brand new ticket for a higher cost and not only that I had to buy a one way ticket at the time as a return for the same flight was costing me over 5k and I had no time to search for other combinations. I checd faredepot.com site again 2 hours before the flight time to see if the site was updated and sure enough "I was still ticketed" so I called faredepot.com to discuss the situation. The representative that I talked with at faredepot.com was straight out rude and not helpful. He told me my ticket was cancelled and I was sent an email about the cancellation. I told him I did not get any email about the cancellation at all and he was adamant that faredepot.com had sent it to me. We kept going back and forth on the dates of the email and if the email went to my spam and of course I did not have any cancellation email. I also told him that if I had seen the cancellation I would have called right away as the trip was an urgent one. After a while I asked him if faredepot.com cancelled my ticket then why do I see a ticketed status on your website. He tried to dodge the question and I demanded an answer to my question. His answer was outrageous which was "It is not our problem if the site says Ticketed. We sent you an email and you should have checked your credit card to see the refund." This conversation went on for a while and the I asked for a manager and he came back saying "the manager was busy and let me see what I can do for you." I told him that he has already told me that faredepot. Com already send me a cancellation email and that it was not their problem so I am not sure what much he could do. He told me that if you are recording this conversation then you can go back and listen to the conversation we just had to see that he never told me that a cancellation email was sent. So I insisted on talking to a manager right away. He said the manager is in a meeting so I asked "how long before he will be free?" and he said 1 hour before he will be free. So I said with this urgent situation I think he should come out and talk to me as I do not have an hour to wait and then again he said I never said that he will be out in an hour. I told him "I am sure these conversations are being recorded for quality so please go back and hear your own words and to stop lying." I had to catch a flight so had to end the conversation and at the end of this torterous conversation he said faredepot. Com would get back to me and asked for my phone so they can get in touch with me. I gave them my number, 2 alternative numbers and confirmed my email address for them to get back in touch with me. It's been 13 days since this incident and I have not heard back from them by any means and on top of that I had to buy a way more expensive ticket for my return along with the stress of being on an urgent visit in india without knowing that I could be back in a timely manner to start work. I want everyone to know that in case you EVER plan to buy a ticket from them they are unprofessional, rude, money minded and liars to say the least. They will spoil your trip and not even have an ounce of empathy towards you.
P.S. I have all the proof to support my story above.

I have had the worst experience with FareDepot and...
February 9, 2015

I have had the worst experience with FareDepot and would not recommend this site be used by anyone!

On January 9,2015 I booked a flight from Toronto to Korea. When I reviewed my flight on January 14th I realized they had me flying from Toronto to LaGuardia with a one hour transfer time to collect my luggage, go through customs and then travel from LaGuardia to JFK Airport for 12pm to check in for my 1pm flight. When I contacted Faredepot the call centre advised me they would not have sold me a flight that I could not make. I contacted the airlines directly and they advised me it would be impossible for me to make my connecting flight, therefore I was sold a fraudulent ticket as it could not be used. I contacted fare repo again to advise the airline requires 2-3 hour connecting flight time between LaGuardia and JFK and the call centre agent was of no help. I had to email, Facebook and call #AirCanada, #AsiannaAirline and Skyscanner before #faredepot would actually make any changes. I was on the phone from 2pm-8pm without resolution.

The following day Faredepot informed me they would incur a charge of $300 for changing my flight, but would only charge me $150. I refused to pay this and the airline recommended I argue this point with Faredepot as they sold me a ticket that could not be used. After several more phone calls with the call centre agent, they waived the $300 fee and altered my flights. This was January 15,2015. I incurred an additional $100 charge on my phone bill for having to remedy the situation that fare depot caused.

On February 8,2015 I checked my reissued flight from January 15th. The flight was non existent and appeared on #checkmyflight.com as having been cancelled. I emailed, was advised I would be contacted the following day and was not. I called and left a voicemail. I received a phone call at 12pm and was advised my flight had been cancelled by the airline, was not provided any further details and was told I would be called in "a few hours". I was not. I called back at 6:50pm and asked they return my call as it would cost me, yet again. No one called me and I called back at 7:15pm. The staff advised they were working on my file and I would be contacted by 9pm.

In the meantime, I have emailed staff who continue to advise me that I will be contacted when this is remedied. However I have not been provided anything above and beyond my basic flight which I could have booked through any other more reputable company. They have not offered me any form of compensation as of yet, not even a seat assignment to ensure that I have a seat on the flight in the event it is overbooked. I am constantly being told that I will be contacted ASAP. However, this is the second time fare depot has had to remedy by flight and I leave in two days. I am terrified that a third issue will arise and have no power in the process. I await a response as to what happened that my flight was cancelled and what they are going to do, if anything to provide me compensation for having issues me a. A ticket that could not be used (fraud) and b. The reissued ticket was cancelled and they were unaware of this fact until I informed them.

I would not recommend this site to ANYONE. My friends and family are appaulled as should #skyscanner, #aircanada and #asianaairline also be for working with such an unorganized, unprofessional, disreputable and discreditable company.

Please advise me of what other websites and/or organizations I may contact to advise of this disgusting experience. I am sick to my stomach and fearful that somehow my flights will again be messed up and I will not make my trip to Korea. What is supposed to be an exciting trip, has turned into a repeatedly stressful and anxiety provoking experience.
