Blocked purchase after payment confirmation. They ask for due diligence (additional papers) after you pay. Avoid them at any price. This can delay a purchase by 24 hours.

I think that Avangate aka 2checkout aka Verifone is one of the only payment processor that block payment for due diligence after a successful paypal payment confirmation. After i performed a paypal payment on the payment page, Avangate sent me link to my email address to confirm my paypal email address. This is done AFTER the reception of the successful payment from Paypal to confirm the payment! Then, even after the successful payment and the successful link confirmation they blocked the delivery of the service (a VPN service) because they wanted more due diligence.

I really wonder if all of that is legal because their process isn't mentioned upfront. Since they are located in the Netherlands, it would be worth notifying the authorities in the Netherlands. It is like going to the supermarket paying by a credit card, receiving a receipt for confirmation of payment and the cashier would keep all the items you have bought saying, "now we have to perform additional checkups and i will keep your items".

They are also lots of complaints on trustpilot about avangate. This also includes people using avangate as merchants & affiliates. I also had a problem with them as an affiliate.

  • Stack Exchange

11/5/16

My advice:
Don't share your knowledge for free on Stackexchange, you will never be rewarded for it. Better create a blog. A blog can bring you job, customers, fans, money.

The information quality of this website is over-estimated. Normally, we should get answers from very wise users. However, they are users on this website who don't deserve their points and don't really answer the question. They just debate about the question without dropping a line of code.

From a technical point of view, many questions should be simple to solve. The person who answers should have the necessary lines of codes, lines of command or directives. However, Most of the time, some argue and you can do NOTHING with what their answer. They just fill up the blank. So, you read the 2 or 3 first answers to discover they aren't helpful for your problem. So it means that you wasted several minutes reading.

How it is possible since these answers get voted?

I am suspicious about the +1 those low-quality answers get. I wonder if some people didn't create bots just to get a better ranking.

You may read 5 answers thinking they are helpful and after thinking about it, you discover none of them are useful for your problem. Stackexchange is an ersatz of a support website.

Just like for Quora, people pretend to be knowledgeable about subjects, but they don't.

There is only a small percentage of knowledgeable people on Stackexchange, and those people are never rewarded just like they should.

  • Server Fault

Please consider another technical Q&A website if you want to gain reputation in the business. In fact, this website has stupid rules. For instance, if your question is too broad, you can get downvoted because some users have thought your question is too broad. If they don't understand what you mean, you can get downvoted and they can put your question on hold.

From a score system perspective, even quora is way better. At serverfault, i saw people with huge score and very little knowledge and i still wonder why they have so big scores. Some answers are stupid, some answers don't answer the questions and still get upvoted.

If you want to share your knowledge, create a blog.

  • StackOverflow

3/27/16

Don't trust stackoverflow. Be very careful when you copy and paste code from stackoverflow.

There are so many people on this website who don't deserve their score. They aren't knowledgeable at all.
1. Many posts don't answer the technical issue but they get well ranked which is a nonsense When it is technical it should be easy. Step 1, step 2, step 3. For example, when it comes to programming. Pieces of code can answer any questions.
2. Some contributors are rude and they answer "read the manual", however they get thumbs up. How is it possible?
3. Here is the most important, people who share brilliant ideas and answers are not rewarded. It is not normal to see brilliant answers at the bottom of the page.
4. Some people are arrogant and try to argue rather than being pro and get straight to the point.
5. There are -1 that are given to good questions and good answers. You may see people receiving minus one for no reasons.
6. The moderators are stupid nazis. If the moderation of stackoverflow was efficient, there would not be so much garbage on Stackoverflow.
7. People only copy / paste pieces of official documentation like php.net
8. People paraphrase the official documentation without understanding it.
9. Some people talk philosophy while we expect to see code. So, after reading 4 responses you discover that you learned nothing.
10. Some pieces of code can be dangerous and don't blindly trust this code.

Tip for consumers:
Don't share your knowledge on StackOverflow you will not be rewarded, better create a blog. Your knowledge has lots of value. Better share your knowledge on your platform where no one will criticize you and where you can at least earn a bit of money thanks to your knowledge.
Don't trust what you read on StackOverflow. Some advice can break your program, your system.
Ask a pro, hire a pro, read a blog it is a better source of information.

Products used:
When you google something to look for an answer about IT, prefer blogs because there a more reliable soure of information.

  • Fiverr

I thought the fiverr freelancers were good due to the score system. I wanted two simple drawings for my website. I have asked a designer and rather than giving me back 2 drawings, he sent me 1 drawing and it was only a slight modification of his drawing example. I have sent to him additional requirements. At the end, the drawing didn't match my requirement. I hardly believe that the 5-star system of freelancers is accurate. My requirements were very simple. I needed a drawing of a little character holding a letter format paper. However, none of them were able to deliver this basic requirement.

  • Gandi.net

I have experience with many many customer support teams from godaddy, bluehost & others... I didn't complain, but with gandi i have found them arrogant and unhelpful. I had a major problem and and they told me to do what i have tried already and could be checked from their end.
Also, i have not seen any whois privacy service. They only hide few information about yourself. Also their DNS editor is very complicated to use. The name of their servers is also complicated.
They provide free email service but today, the service is down for 3 hours.

I have tested their server cloud and found it was more expensive than other clouds.

  • IT Central Station

It looks like a Q&A for technology and IT decision makers. In fact, it is an IT consulting company that uses this website to attract IT services buyers. Also, i wonder whether the contents that experts add online is not used for commercial purposes.

  • JustAnswer

I have asked them a legal question and i received a very generic answer that i could have find online. The answer was accurate but i expected an answer with a better understanding that i could have myself as i am not a legal expert.

I have to say, their website is beautiful but more importantly it is incredibly fast. For instance when you do a domain name search for availability you don't need to press ok. Answers come right away. So it is really handy when you are looking for several word.
Then, their admin panel is really easy to read. I enjoyed the ID protection option. It works well and you know whether it is activated or not. You don't need to check in the whois to see whether you see your real address and email address.
Once again, when you are in admin panel, it is fast because everything is loaded at once. When you click on a tab for one domain, the info is displayed instantly.
Web severs owners will appreciate the fact that they can add IPV6 glue records to their server.

  • CureZone

It is a website that is old but in which reside good advices from people who chronic disease. Not everything is good, but i am forced to admit that i have discovered things about my diet that have been helpful today. This website i think saved my life and convinced me to stop drinking alcohol. I was not a heavy drinker but i understood it had consequences on my health condtions.

  • Airbnb

10/18/15

I think Airbnb can thank the medias that overrate Airbnb. In real life, many hosts aren't professionals. Airbnb makes you believe that the services of those amateur hosts is like hotels but that's not the case. We cannot consider that professional rentals and airbnb's are the samel. Many people who use airbnb must be aware of that. When a host wants you to change your arrival date. When they charge you a fee when you arrive late, we see a type of service that we never saw before. Plus, there is the same issue as for shared accommodation when you decide to rent a room. There are so many things that can go wrong due to host culture, habits, disease... For instance, you may go to a house where hosts smoke or get up at 5am in the morning or listen to music late... etc. Etc...
Also, many airBnB are overprived for what it is. For instance, in Eastern Europe, many airbnb host offers are overpriced. They think that since customers are German, Austrian, French, British or American they can increase their prices. When the rent for a week in Slovenia is twice the average local monthly income, you understand there is a problem somewhere.
I only use airbnb for short term accommodation but still it may take a lot of time for me to select the right places and avoid traps.

  • Namecheap

9/4/15

Namecheap has great prices and they are transparent about 2nd year domain prices when you first buy it. It is important because for some domain extensions, the prices can be doubled on the second year.
1. Now, at peak time during week days, the website is so slow so that it will take a long time to do basic domain maintenance. If you are in hurry that's not good. Sometimes the pageload just freezes and there is nothing you can do about it, you have to wait.
2. In order to get the authorization code for a transfer you have to wait 5 days
3. Namecheap is only an affiliate from enom.com

  • Numbeo

5/12/15

I think this website can be dangerous to people who want to move to a new state, a new country or a new city. They may think the figures of numbeo are correct and they may discover that it is not.
So, numbeo mentions that we should not blindly follow their figures. But if this website is not accurate, what should it be used for?

I think people don't need such a website because there are many websites that offer you real prices of things like online supermarkets, gas price, utility price...

It takes more time to find this information but it is more accurate to find real prices on the internet than average prices.
If you want to know how much it costs somewhere, you can also find a blog where people tell their life story about their expenses. I found that even a blog that is 5 years old is more accurate than numbeo

  • Quora

4/16/15

1/ Quora is full of fake questions and answers made by companies, startups, lobbies. Then, they answer themselves to usually advertise a website.

2/ Quora is also the place of mythomaniac sociopaths who want to get attention and play the sermonisers. For instance, some people want to be seen as millionaires, CEO of big companies but in fact they are unemployed, retired or students. I have investigated their names of people and their references to discover that they were much smaller than what they wanted people to think. Quora is packed with story tellers. They upload a generic picture and they make up a sensational fake story. So, then, they get lots of +1 and they are aroused by the high score. You read stories on quora, of people who made 1 million dollars in 1 month, people who helped their entourage. In the answers of Quora, people are the best. They are always rich, clever, welcoming, caring.

I think that this is just a big lie. I think quorans pretend to be rich but in fact they are poor. I think quorans pretend to be a PHd and in fact they never went to university. Quora is the matrix. It is a virtual world.

3/Some of them just paraphrase your questions in the answer. (i must admit they are talented at it).
They may answer with mainstream opinions that we can find on wikipedia.
After reading 5 answers you discover that you have no answer is accurate for your question. In 90% of the cases, you get no real answer to your question.

4/If you need an advice from an expert, don't go to quora because there are no experts there. Don't be misled by the nice references like Phd in theoritical physics... If there would be experts on quora, the answers would not be as simplistic as now. The Quorans pretend to be experts in everything. But when you read the answers you understand that there is a twist. How is it possible to see so many PHd, engineers, senior programmers, system architects, CEO, CFO on quora with so many low quality answers?

They are liars obviously.

I noticed that when I asked precise questions about a serious topic I had no answers. I had no answers to serious questions and many answers to superficial questions.

COnclusion:
If you are an expert about something, don't share you knowledge for free, create a blog. Otherwise, if you are a serious contributor on quora, by creating content on Quora, you help them to make money. You should better create a blog if you are an expert. You can also contribute to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not perfect but it is a better source of information than Quora.

Be aware that quora is a time waster. You should block their emails because every time you read a Quora email you are wasting your time. If let's say 90% of the answers of quora are useless, it means that You waste 90% of your time when you read answers on quora.

Tip for consumers:
Don't share your knowledge for free, create your personal blog.
