It rejects true feedback and manipulate the thing on their own favorite, not in the interest of general public that they serve.
Worst possible customer service in every way. They won't even return phone calls to discuss the problems they created on my website
We cannot find anything and need to have an account to get some info. WHY Microsoft is using that crap?
Absolutely horrible customer service. Weve been dealing with them for months trying to cancel, and trying to get a manager call us about it. Every time, they say they will have somebody contact us and it doesnt happen. Our bill somehow doubled and when we contacted them to get answers we had them tell us they had to look into it and they would call us back. After several attempts to resolve this problem, and having people continue to tell us they will have to look into it and they would call us back, and after emails from us asking for answers and to have management involved, we got a call from their legal department threatening to sue us, and informing us that our bill jumped from $2000 to $5000 and that we had to pay it by the next day at noon or else legal action would be taken. They also informed us that if legal action was the route we wanted to take, they would add an extra $7000 to our bill. Absolutely HORRIBLE. On top of that, they told us when we signed up, that our website would be up right away and it took OVER THREE MONTHS for it to be up, which we were paying for. I cannot believe how awful this service was.
Demand letter through his lawyer asking Yellow Pages to cancel his verbal contract and reimburse him for payments made.
I contacted yellow pages to ask them to remove a website they have listed under the business I work for as it's not correct. AND IT WAS THE WORST GUEST SERVICES OF MY LIFE, I've never felt so patronized and not listened too, would not recommend in a million years.
I mentioned that the URL was being hosted through the yellow pages, the owner did originally set it up but no longer remembered the email associated with his business account...
Here is some of the things an agent said to me through the chat...
Agent - Hey, I understand your request but we have nothing to do with it. This is google were talking about...
Me - No... I think you've misunderstood. The information for the [business website] is all the same information as the store, it's not a different website.\
Agent - It is a different website as I have both in front of me and neither are the same.
Me - Same address, same number. Can you pass me onto someone else
Agent - Oh yes, I see that. Well someone on your side probably made a free website with Wix.com
Me - No, the Wix one is the one we're currently working on [other website] is owned by the gallery but is hosted through yellow pages, I just wanted more information around this, and to also remove the [other website] from the yellow pages website
Agent - Contact the number I provided earlier.
When you signup they behave extremely polite and tied your hand with legal contract over the phpne in a rush by saying "yes i agree" eventhough you do not understand the full meaning and fine lines. Once you tied in contract there is no option to get out of contract till 12 months, not even paying penalties to get out of contract. You have to have pay them every month till 1 year no matter what. They are con-artist and run the business not to hel[p client but to trap people. I called the customer care to cancel my monthly payments and they told me "NO" she argued me why you said yes on phone at time of signing contract, you have to pay till the year end. I request to cancel with penalty fees but they denied. She was such rude and mean over the phone. Worst quality people are sittting in customer care, i never seen anywhere like this kind of worst people. We should stop using yello pages because this is run by a bunch of con-artist and there main business is not to help but infact traping people for the whole year.
We have been trying to cancel our service for the last year & a
Half. And every year when the renewal comes around I tell them over the
Phone I want to cancel. They are super aggressive and rude,
Telling me I'm basically an idiot for cancelling. I told them point
Blank, CANCEL OUR SERVICE! They gave me an end date, April 1st, 2018. I
Asked for something in writing and they told me they don't do that but
The service would be cancelled. April 2, I called, took forever to speak
To someone & they told me my service was auto-renewed. No way to
Get out of it due to the fine print and we have to pay another year. 2019
Has rolled around, same thing: CANCEL OUR SERVICE. Again, my rep has
Horribly rude & aggressive. "Are you not the marketing manager? Do
You not make marketing decisions? Do you understand how ridiculous it is
To cancel this service?" I told him I didn't want to argue with him
Just cancel my service IN WRITING. He said he would "send" something and
Hung up the phone. I've called back to get a definitive answer if our
Service has been cancelled and every person I talk to gives me the run
Around. Bottom Line: IF YOU ARE A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER, DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THE YELLOW PAGES!
Hi Carly, we are terribly sorry to read about your experience. We would like to speak with you about this and have the opportunity to make things right. Could you contact us at 1-844-875-4290? Thank you.
I'm not wasting my time on a long review. Trust me, just say away. They suck you in and then takes you a year to cancel.
I'M NOT HAPPY WITH THE WAY YELLOW PAGES CONDUCTS BUSINESS. MOST CONSUMERS, IF THEY NEED A PLUMBER, FOR EXAMPLE, WILL GOOGLE WITH THE WORDS PLUMBERS NEAR ME. THE WAY I SEE IT, IN ORDER TO GET YOUR YELLOW PAGES AD SEEN BY CONSUMERS, THE CONSUMER HAS TO FIRST TYPE YELLOW PAGES IN THE SEARCH ENGINE AND THEN TYPE IN PLUMBERS -- AN EXTRA STEP THAT MOST PEOPLE DO NOT DO. I CALLED TO CANCEL MY YELLOW PAGES AD WHICH IS PAID BY PRE-AUTHORIZATION TO MY CREDIT CARD EVERY MONTH. YELLOW PAGES TELLS ME THAT 'ACCORDING TO THE CONTRACT' WHICH I SIGNED WAY BACK WHEN WHEN I FIRST STARTED USING THEM, THERE IS A THREE-MONTH CANCELLATION FEE EQUAL TO THREE MONTHS BILLINGS TO ME. I CAN SEE THEM CHARGING A CANCELLATION FEE WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF PROVIDING THEIR SERVICE, BUT THEY HAVE AUTOMATICALLY RENEWED BY CONTRACT EVERY YEAR (WHICH I DIDN'T MIND), BUT NOW WHEN I WANT TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT, I HAVE TO PAY THIS THREE-MONTH CANCELLATION FEE. IN MY OPINION, IT'S A CASH GRAB ON THEIR PART. SO NOW THEY ARE GOING TO CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD FOR THE NEXT 3 MONTHS FOR THE CANCELLATION FEE -- SILLY ME, I SHOULD NEVER HAVE GONE ON PRE-AUTHORIZED BILLINGS -- I SHOULD HAVE CHOSEN TO GET A BILL AND THEN PAID EACH MONTH MYSELF. I'M NOT HAPPY WITH YOU, YELLOW PAGES.
The cost is outrageous and the benefits are little to none.
Do not sign anything with this company.
The government should shut them down.
Hi there, like you guys, I got locked into a verbal contract with YP for a year. They billed the wrong credit card so I knew nothing about it until I saw the red letter for renewal in 2018. Went through Better Business Bureau and had to pay $500 to make it go away. Low and behold a year later (this January 2019) I get another red letter for $1200 for "renewal" even though I have emails telling them I don't want this service.
I asked them to SHOW ME EVIDENCE OF MY AD PLACEMENT. That's when they came back and said they had made a mistake.
If you are having the same problem ask to SEE EVIDENCE OF THE AD.
I'd like to add, that during this time I contacted CBC marketplace (*******@cbc.ca) as well as the ASSOCIATION OF CERTIFIED FRAUD EXAMINERS (*******@cfevancouver.com). However, they didn't respond.
Everybody should report it to these guys as well as the anti fraud centre
*******501, who also did nothing but hey, safety in numbers. The only way to stop these lot is by getting together and flooding the above with emails and calls until it stops.
Good luck. They know exactly what they're doing. I hope my trick works for you.
Hi Amy, we are sorry to read about your experience. We are proud to help Canadian small and medium businesses grow with a wide variety of marketing solutions. Our contractual terms are for a 12-month period (or a 6-month period for certain products). Customers are able to cancel their contract with Yellow Pages by providing notice 3 months before the expiry of the term. If not, contracts automatically renew, as mentioned in our terms and conditions. If the mistake you are describing in your review has not been corrected, we invite you to contact us at 1-844-875-4290, a member of our team will be happy to help.
Do not take their call. Ever. Hang up immediately.
Worst company I've ever dealt with. CBC, CTV News and any other consumer protection and regulatory bodies should look into and shut this place down.
(1) They lie. They take advantage of individuals who do not understand the technology by saying things such as- if you do not list with us you won't be on the internet. BLATANT LIES TAKING ADVANTAGE OF A SEGMENT OF THE POPULATION THAT IS NOT FLUENT WITH TECHNOLOGY.
(2) You cannot get out of the contact if you sign. They either don't pick up the phone, or they hang up when you ask to be transferred to someone.
I highly suggest anyone who has been scammed into using this product contact consumer regulatory bodies, CBC or CTV news. I have had enough people complain that a class action lawsuit could potentially be undertaken.
The other suggestion I have is IMMEDIATELY email/send by certified mail to Yellow pages in your city (basically anything in writing with a date stamp) a letter stating that you are stopping services and you do not want to renew your contract.
Lastly, the products they offer are found on Google Analytics/Business. For a FRACTION of the price, if not free. Do NOT fall into the Yellow pages scam. Do some google searches and learn about the products google offers. Educate yourself.
YOU DO NOT NEED YELLOW PAGES TO BE SUCCESSFUL.
They have been irrelevant for years and are using borderline illegal (for sure ethically and morally wrong) business practices to take advantage of small businesses and individuals who are not familiar with internet analytics.
I tried to cancel my contract with Yellow Pages as I might be suspending my business for a period of time. I called todayJune 19ththe representative stated that my contract was automatically renewed on June 12th. I asked to speak with a manager as I believe this to be a completely unacceptable practice. The representative refused my request to speak with a manager, although I asked him numerous times, stating I can only speak to him and not with a manager about cancelling a contract. As it seems I am unable to cancel my upcoming years contract I have asked to have the following years contract cancelled. I apparently now have to wait 24-48 hours for a representative to call me back. If/when I need any advertising I will never deal with this company again.
This is an addition to my original post above. I called Yellow Pages again and spoke to a different representative. This represesentative checked my file and has now agreed to cancel my current contract based on information she found in my file. (I believe when I spoke with them last year I verbally told them I was not ok with an automatic renewal). She has stated that although it will be cancelled it will take a couple of billing cycles to happen but that I will be reimbursed the funds. I hope she is true to her word. I do have the phone conversation recorded so Yellow Pages will not be able to deny making this statement. Although, it seems there will be a resolution to my situation Yellow Pages will not receive any more of my advertising dollars.
After spending $500-$1000 per month for 17 years, when I discontinued the service, which I did IN WRITING and ON TIME, they have sent their legal department after me for over 2 years. First, they tried to squeeze over $4000. 00 out of me, with threatening letters from their accounts department, and then their lawyer. Each time they harass me, the amount they are ILLEGALLY trying to BULLY out of me changes (it's now at $400!). This company tries to operate on the premise that if you sign a contract, then AFTER that contract expires, even if you declare in writing that you wish not enter into another contract with them, they will treat you as if you did in fact sign a new contract, even though you did not. Next, they will sue you, and send you to a collection agency to try to harm your credit rating, as they have with MANY OTHER Canadian Business owners. The courts continue to rule in favour of the business owners who do not sign new contracts, but Yellow Pages' business model is dependant upon people just capitulating to their BULLYING TACTICS outlined here.
DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY KIND OF CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY. THERE ARE FAR MORE REPUTABLE AND ETHICAL ADVERTIZING COMPANIES TO DO BUSINESS WITH THAT CAN GET THE JOB DONE MUCH BETTER.
Accountbook Professional Services Anas took my money to do my tax and never did it. He stopped communication.
OMG, they charged me $10 interest for a $15 a month listing, and could not cancel my listing for another year, pls don't do business with them, a total SCAM company.
Dear Carla, all the work stated in writing and documented (signed by your husband) was done as estimated, and is within industry standards. The use of recycled (used) parts is a generally acceptable way to repair a vehicle - as was explained verbally before the work was done - and your estimate reflects the recycled parts cost, to keep within your budget, again as explained. There were items that were NOT included in the estimate, and these items were clearly outlined and explained to your son as the job progressed and were approved as you are aware. There are no expectations for any business operating to add parts or services beyond the estimate that was written, and provided to you. To be clear, the mechanical issue that was discovered after the fact - that was not a part of the estimate - was offered to be repaired at OUR LABOUR COST, if you would pay for the part only, which is STILL OUTSTANDING. Our business record speaks for itself. We conduct business with utmost integrity, and we have done so with your vehicle.
Started a new business in 2016 and got Yellow Pages for marketing/advertising purposes. They charged $******* for 1 year, we did not get a single prospect from YP, not even a phone call. Our business did not do so well in the last year and we had spoken to our rep to ask for some leniency with payment and we were granted a payment plan yet we kept getting calls more than once a day from different people harassing us for payment. We kept asking them to put it in our file that we had spoken to our rep and was granted another payment plan but they continued harassing us.
Fast forward 1 year later we decided we were not going to renew, we called our rep to shut down our account. He informed us that our Bell phone line account was connected to our YP account and if we cancel YP we also have to cancel Bell otherwise they were going to renew our account. So obviously we quickly cancelled our Bell account, however we were under a 3 year contract with Bell and thus have a $900 cancellation fee with Bell now, we found a copy of our contract with Bell and nowhere does it even mention YP. I really think the YP rep lied to us to try and scare us into renewing our YP contract. This company has very bad business practices, they are rude and customer service is no help. They give you the run around until you are exhausted. They just want your money and will send threatening letters to sue if you're late with payment, one of these letters was sent to us in an unsealed envelope, so unprofessional. We are completely livid and fed up with this good for nothing company. I would recommend people to really think ******* times before dealing with these ignorant people.

Answer: They also posted my personal information to their site without permission. I recommend reporting them to Canada's Anti-spam regulatory body. You can report them here: https://www.fightspam.gc.ca/eic/site/030.nsf/frm-eng/MMCN-9EZV6S
Answer: My son in high school was harassed by a telemarketer and said no. He created an IT website in HS for a class. Two months later I got an invoice for $57 month. I told them my son has a Communication Learning Disability, a Medical Disability and is being treated for PTSD. They refused to help. I will go to BBB and ask my lawyer. My son should have hung up but they coerced him and he was too young and naive to know better. Shame on them!
