DON'T DO IT!
January 13, 2022

I was purchasing an existing company so I wanted to see what kind of digital footprint they had so I could see what improvements could be made. I saw there was a website but the SEO was listed for the area they were located in and nothing within a 20km radius. When I took the business over I realized that there was a digital marketing company in place with Yellow Pages. When I saw the bill I was floored! They do NOTHING for the amount they have been billing this company and they refused to cancel the contract! It even says in their Terms that any account must apply for their services, to which I did not. They wouldn't talk to me as my name was not on the account, until they realized the bill wasn't going to be paid unless they spoke with me. Then they refused to release the domain until the bill was paid IN FULL! I specifically requested their digital services to be terminated ASAP but I wanted us to be advertised in print. They couldn't even do THAT right and cancelled the entire account! Absolutely shameful how these guys treat their dissatisfied customers, and in my case, I wasn't even a customer as I hadn't signed up but because the business changed hands that was deemed as a continuation of their contract!

So before you pay for advertising with yellow pages. We ere contacted by what sounded like a very nice fellow from yellow pages. He was trying, naturally to sell us a package. Even told us he could give us the "silver" package on a deal, as my husband was hit by a bus a few years ago ( yes, really), and is trying to start a new business on very limited funds. He said he could give us the silver package, and a counter, for $67.16. This contact was to include:

Great deal. Right? Yet check out what the ad actually looks like. Even the phone number is wrong. Yes. I have reached out to the original representative who sold us the package. He has so far declined to answer. I have called the yellow pages number, and after spending 10 min on the phone, waiting for someone, then being hug up on, I called back only to tell them I was not " authorized on the account and they could not talk to me". I'm the person who made the agreement for the contract and used my credit card to pay the bill. The company was told right form the beginning that all advertising comes through me. You may want to think twice. Or three or four times. Before buying and advertising from this company

Cheating company
December 31, 2018

I send this writing a year a go direct to them:
Peace be upon you

Nearly since two years ago, I am under tremendous pressure by Yellow Page (YP) to pay them a money which sounds like extortion and blackmail. Emails that have been exchanged between me and YP which I have the copy of them truly show that YP outrageously wants money from me for no reason. I never showed interest in YP to put an AD for my business. I had told them that I did not have money to pay them and asked them to stop pressuring me. I told them I had no interest in doing business with them. I had told them that I was paying Google $200 and kjiji $15 and that those ADs are enough for me. Those ADs are mine and I could edit them as I wished.

Unfortunately, the company YP did not pay attention and continued to insist and tried to force me to pay the money. Few days ago a person called me and with intimidating tone told me that my AD is in YP and that I have to pay. I explained but he did not listen and then i have received a letter asking me to pay them $2532. 63 otherwise they will ruin my credit.

Yesterday I went to court to file a complaint, because apart from pressure that the company brought to me, I have to close my shop. The shop that I have built with the money I have borrowed from my elderly mother. Now I have to lose that investment. God knows how shall I make my life at age 61? Is this what I get in this land of justice and democracy? Yes, I am going after defending my rights through law and court of justice to defend myself against this scam. I have fled from tyranny in my origin country and have come to Canada hoping to find peace, equality and justice here. I am going through tremendous psychological torture. I am reaching out to you with hope that you can provide me with some help to defend myself against YP or if you can direct me to the right place where I can get support to deal with his extremely unpleasant condition.

The worst!
November 5, 2014

The worst! I signed up for a free online listing and was immediately contacted the next morning for paid advertising pitch. I agreed, and I fulfilled my end by submitting photos, keywords etc. and we were to follow up and confirm before launch. The confirmation didn't happen and after many emails on my end, I gave up and let it go. My site was not listed. Then after a couple of months, I signed up for the free online listing again. Nothing happened. All of a sudden, 3 months later I get an invoice for the initial contract! I go online to see if my site is there and the bare bones are there. Basically the free listing and my logo. I call yp, and get the run around that they will find a resolution and definitely get back to me that Friday. (they don't) I get a call the next morning though, from the initial sales girl (Priscilla) acting like she doesn't know what happened and would I resend my pictures? I tell her no, I'll wait for my resolution call. Then the next month, I get another invoice! I go online, and miraculously my photos are online! Coincidence? They've been there all long? Yah right. I call again, and finally get put through to the director's voicemail with a promise of a return call within 48hrs. Again, nothing. Sent an email to the business outlining my issues, and nothing. Luckily, I haven't spent a dime and I will not be. This is such a poor outfit. Oh forgot to mention, I received a call from 411.ca. After my call into a director of yellowpages. Shane specifically said he was not affiliated with yellowpages, but guess what? They are. My warning? Be careful what you sign up for! Still not resolved almost 6 months later... I'm sure my next invoice will be arriving soon.

I have been with White Pages for a couple years and I wanted to cancel and they said I was under contract. They said they Auto Renew there service but they did not send me an email notifying me this or they did not get my authorization to renew my contract. I thought I was on a month to month term after my original 12 month contract expired. What a BS service, Yellow Pages is so useless, Google is way better as everyone uses it, save your self the money and if you want to boost your online presence use Google as your service

I run a dental practice and if you want to throw your money away then use them.
The previous owner signed a contract with YellowPages and it was tied to the Telus phone account and business number so there was no way of getting out of the contract even though the service they were providing was subpar. We agreed to pay out the contract. But now Telus is billing us for Media Advertising and telling us that they do not generate the charges they are only a 3rd party that does the billing and debits the bank account. We have paid YellowPages directly and the former dentists account is still getting debited because YellowPages is still sending charges through Telus, and Telus is still collecting for them because they said they have a contract with YellowPages to collect the amount they say is due. It's completely Ridiculous and the worst of it is Telus won't help and after waiting on hold for 1 hr I could not get a hold of anyone who can help from Yellow Pages either. AVOID AVOID AVOID this company!

The yellow pages company is the absolute worst I have ever dealt with. At the time of starting my company I thought it would be a great tool to try out for advertising. 9 months later they hadn't really done anything for me and when I had a concern and needed to contact them I waited on hold on the phone for over an hour (learn from my mistake and use email because they are now going back and telling me phone conversations I had with them never happened). Ok so 9 months into my contract (January 2018) I am ready to cancel and I know I have to let them know 3 months in advance (which is also bullcrap if you ask me), I contact them via email to keep my paper trail and begin the cancellation process, they continue to send me bills in the mail and every time I contact them to have the bills stopped they tell me that they will charge me then reimburse my bill have it total 0$ which is where my account should sit.

After months and months of calling and emailing with one of the manager Kalvin L and he assured me time and time again that the contract for 2018 was wrongfully opened on their end and as of May 2019 all the bills would stop and the contracts would be done. Now that it is June 2019 and I DID RECEIVE a bill for May of 2019 I am back to arguing with him that I still owe money from 2018 (a year that I did not even have a contract with YP).

Please please please do not ever sign a contract with YELLOW PAGES they are complete scam artists and will never let your contract end regardless of what you do, who you talk to, what you pay, you will continue to receive bills from them.

Beware of this scam!
January 28, 2018

They will lie to you and force you into a year long contract. Told me countless times I would recieve a certain number of leads per month. In the entire year I did not recieve one lead. Recieved thousands of spam calls and emails though thanks to Yellow Pages. I tried to cancel my contract the day I saw the first bill that I was not expecting becuase I never fully agreed to their terms. Their scam artist working there * (beware of this guy seriously, he will lie and cheat you) told me that in order to continue the conversation to get more information I had to consent to their services. I told him I would say yes but that I will not commit to their contract until certain terms were met. Those terms were never met and instead they without permission locked me into a contract. When I confronted them about this and attempted to cancel the contract they would only send the 30 seconds of the conversation where I said yes. They refused to send the other hour of the phone call where I repeatedly stated that I am not interested in the services until certain things happen on my end. They pretended this didn't happen so they could steal money from a small business. Yellow pages makes its money off scamming small businesses by lying to them. Now if I dont pay my credit will be screwed up and to pay is going to really hurt my business. Yellow Pages told me this would grow my business, instead it has driven it into the ground. I have never in my life had a worse expereince then working at Yellow Pages. I hope nothing but the worst for every single person who works there. They make no effort to help situations. Their only focus is on sucking the most money out of you they can and they will go to whatever lengths they need to achieve this. Even if this means lying to you about their services.

They don't care. Pay for nothing service
January 24, 2022

I am very weary when it comes to signing up for contracts but they got me. The sales agent had been in touch with me for months, each time I asked more questions to reassure myself that the purchase was a good decision. He made a ton of promises, I was told he would assist me with setting up the back end and to send him a whole bunch of information and keywords. I had reached out to past clients for reviews and they happily agreed to fill out a review using the YP link. Once I had accepted the verbal contract POOF he was gone no answer. Then I finally got a hold of someone and they said they were in another department now. 3/4 reviews didn't stick to the profile, YP said the reviewers were to blame because of a final step they didn't do. The backend keywords were not setup and I was left to figure it out. An additional feature didn't work all together and 6 months later someone would actually enable it from the YP side. In addition they didn't have my correct information so life went on and eventually I would get a call reminding me that I had a balance to pay. Trying to figure out what happened I would connect to several more people who would offer apologies but no solutions. Finally I was told I would be speaking with someone who could fix everything on the backend... this individual was yet another salesman who's ultimate objective was to sign me up for more AMAZING and ADVANCED services that no other competitor was doing yet. I wasn't falling for it yet, I made it clear that I wasn't going to be upgrading and that person quickly lost interest and we ended our call without answers. I have asked numerous times for proof that the online profile was actually converting leads, one representative said they would email me the actual phone numbers that showed up as inbound dials to cell phone... nada. The people I complain to are just doing their jobs I can tell as they have no solutions and like clockwork refer me to my verbal agreement and the fancy backend that shows activity that doesn't really exist. I will eventually have to deal with them in court and I have a ton of emails that show the incompetency and lack of an actual service. Don't fall for the sales pitch, its old school sign you up then move on to the next sucker.

Fraud me pretending to sell leads
December 12, 2023

They had a call center call to promote my business and have qualified 10 leads call me per month for purchasing and selling homes in my area as i am a local realtor. 2 weeks in there was no leads so i contacted them directly wondering where and how the leads will be sent as i was yet to receive anything after the sales rep sold me the contract and they shipped me around to 3 different managers that would call me back. They had said the sales rep who committed to my year contract left the company and they do no provide leads nor ever had provided any leads to clients. So they wouldn't let me out of the contract and they terminated me with full pay for the year after it was obvious they scammed me to sign on for something that didn't even exist. I asked over 10x for the voice recording that they are in possession of to send to my lawyer to clearly show the promise of minimum 10 pre screened and qualified leads monthly for a year. There never was one lead sent nor any leads ever going to be sent as agreed upon with their call center rep.

Manager Charbel Abou Harb *******@yp.ca gave me a lawyer contact that would respond within 48 hours. That was 3 weeks ago and 6 emails later with multiple voicemails to contact me regarding the fraud they had done to me. Not one lead and hundreds of dollars spent with absolutely no leads in sight and thousands that will be spent over this term for absolutely nothing. They dont ever respond to any emails or calls its a literal scam from the beginning that im shocked i ever got myself into. At first i signed up for 3-4 leads per month at 90$ per month. Then when he told me about the 220$ package for qualified vetted and sent 10 leads + monthly I quickly jumped on that package to upgrade for more potential clients for the business. Not 1 lead was ever sent. Only thing I received is bills and more bills for absolutely nothing. Its crazy how a professional company like this would be scamming people in this fashion.

LIARS & SNEEKY SNAKES
January 29, 2018

* at yellowpages is very rude, pushy, and one of the most annoying people Ive ever dealt with. She tried to make me feel stupid when I complained that *, the guy who signed me up, failed to tell me about a 30 day cancellation policy! * did NOT mention that the month to month ad would require 30 days cancellation, so when I realized what a scam this was with only scammers from google calling us amongst other solicitation calls/e-mails and tried to cancel, I was sent to *, the manager who should really be called Madam Rude! She was snappy & e trembly rude with me & said yes I was told about the cancellation policy when I in fact was not. Then she switched her mood & offered me an additional value to my package that would include a free ad to appear in a nearby city. She said to give it three months and that she would guarantee some awesome leads & new business but after the 3 months I was fed up with scammer calls contacts ting us! I tried to call & e-mail * (from the welcome team) 8 days later, * e-mails me that I need to be patient and that * would be contacting me even though I asked for a different manager to deal with because * attitude was horrid & her voice was very annoying to listen to with her high pitched, high pressure tactics! So now I am being billed an e tea 2 months! And I did call * to confront her on the awful service & tell her I found this to be a waste of time & money. She got all rude and said, well, we cannot guarantee any leads (LIE!) and we cannot control scammers; then she has the nerve to say that I received 40 new contacts from my ad! Lol we received zero contacts and only a pile of baloney scammers! I told her this and asked her point blank why the statistics lie. She stammered then said that the month to month is no longer being offered & that I needed to sign up for the year. I said, thats strange, the month to month just started last September. She said shes going to forward me the e-mail she received from her management. I did not receive an e-mail, nor have I heard from * since then. I warned my credit card company of yellow pages trying to charge me for the two months after I had cancelled as well as any new charges. They are going to help me disputes the charges and I am reporting the yellow pages to a government website that posts companies that fail to deliver promises for services/goods.
Keep your money and stay away from yellow pages! They are the worst scammers out there!

I got ads started with yellowpages in August. I told them at that time that I couldn't afford the ads after December. They billed me for January and February and added some other charges. I have no money to pay them and it's March. They advertising is awful. If it actually worked then I would honestly have money to pay them but I don't. They've been truly brutal to deal with. I wish negative stars was an option
