Be cautious when signing with Yellow Pages. They make many promises but deliver little in ways of increasing calls and customers. I've recently sold one of my businesses and the new owner isn't interested in taking over the contract. The options presented by the representative were to keep paying until the contract ends because even though the business is sold, the contract is now owned by me personally, or amalgamate one business into the other and then I'd continue to pay for just the one business, however, it would now extend the other contract by another six months. This business is also for sale so I didn't want to do that. These were my only options. I am waiting to speak with a manager to find a resolution. For the time I've been a customer with YP, I haven't found their services to be of great value and I find there tactics tricky and a bit underhanded and this rule of providing 45 days to cancel before the end of contract unreasonable (if you can actually get through to anyone). 30 days should be sufficient. Overall, I'd really consider whether this is the right channel of advertising for your small business, whether it's worth the money or the hassle if you sell your business.
This Company and its sales team are a bunch of liars and scammers. I will be taking them to court over a contract I never signed. Just look at there rating at BBB or any reviews other than the ones on there website. If you hear the name Sonny or Adrain in the Vancouver/B. C area hang up
I got ads started with yellowpages in August. I told them at that time that I couldn't afford the ads after December. They billed me for January and February and added some other charges. I have no money to pay them and it's March. They advertising is awful. If it actually worked then I would honestly have money to pay them but I don't. They've been truly brutal to deal with. I wish negative stars was an option
I had a very disappointing experience with Yellow Pages. I sought to promote my small business, and while they were quick to take my money for an advertising campaign, the service was subpar. They didn't have a technician who could assist with my existing webpage, so they created their own site that went live with incorrect information, including the wrong business address and services.
To make matters worse, the advertising campaign launched using the wrong services, which misled potential customers. Their contracts are heavily one-sided, offering no protection for clients against their incompetence. After realizing they failed to perform their contractual obligations, I canceled the service, only to be hit with a $3,565.53 bill from the Credit Bureau of Canada for work that was never completed properly.
If you're considering using Yellow Pages, I recommend sticking to their free options until they improve their customer service. Save yourself the hassle!
This issue is without a signed contract only verbal, buyer beware.
Don't waste your money or your time with this scammers they did *******$ damage for my business by not advertising my business just stealing your money
They will call you every day to sign up sine you in they won't do anything from there promises your business won't be on no platform and good luck to cancel or remove your name from there scam platform
They are definitely scammers. If you receive a call from someone claiming to be from Yellow Pages, hang up immediately. If you don't, you might lose your money--potentially hundreds of dollars, as I did. For small business owners, the consequences could be even more severe.
This is a scam company. You pay them for a service they do not provide, and they trick you into a contract that, even if you close your business, still requires you to pay for the whole contract they tricked you into. I will never use them again. I would look for a marketing company instead.
On top of that, they were promoting me in an area that is a 45-minute highway drive away and not locally. They also targeted keywords that were spelled wrong and were not relevant to my business at all. They obviously just copied and pasted and AI spit out instead of actually doing any work.
Was promised that YP advertising would generate leads. Since Feb 2023 NO LEADS or SALES that can be attributed to Yellow Pages.
Was promised a account consultant, seems he quit within weeks of my signing on, now I receive no help.
Was told I would get metrics, never did. Was told I could log onto dashboard, no such luck.
If you are contemplating using Yellow Pages, RUN AWAY!
I can t even begin to describe how robbed I feel after paying this crooked company money monthly for the last year and a half. I feel conned/scammed. What do they do? I have no idea! Horrible and I mean HORRIBLE customer service team.
We signed up for a contract with Yellow Pages including their NetSuite marketing program that was apparently going to get us so much business and #1 on Google. We received NOTHING for the entire time we paid, I tried to get it cancelled numerous times and they wouldn't help me. We are a seasonal business and have zero income 4 months of the year and with 4 kids it's really hard to scrape by. They wracked our bill up to $3000 and expected us to pay it right away, would not work with me for a payment plan whatsoever. I started to make payments and then spent a month dealing with the death of my 4 month old niece. They then transferred our account over to their lawyers without even contacting us and now we're being threatened of being sued and they're adding on another $3000 for legal fees. ABSOLUTE CROOKS and worse than the government! If you're a small business owner, I highly suggest to NEVER get in business with Yellow Pages. They do not care about anything except getting you into a contract there's absolutely no way to get out of and screwing you over for even more money in the meantime while your business will suffer immensely and they walk away scott free. It should be illegal and I wish I never even answered the phone when they called with their sales spiel.
Trash service, trash placements, trash results. If you want to waste your money there is not much better ways you want advertising and exposure there isn't many worse than yellow pages.
After I sold my business, I called yellow pages office 4 times in 2 months to cancel our service, every time I was told that the manager Mr. Salam would call me back, but no one bothered to call me back, till I had to ask for his direct email to send him an email about our cancellation. Still he would not cancel our contract even though I told him there was no point advertising our business on Yellow Pages Website if my business is non-existent. That is false advertising. But he did not care, they only want your money. He said I still have to pay till end of the term, which would be 8 months to go. I felt threatened that when he said, otherwise, it would go to collection office. I guess with their ineffectiveness and bad customer services that they are losing money, so they need non-existent businesses to support them. By the way, Yellow Pages is the only company that is not willing to cancel contract. All other companies my business dealt with were happy to cancel their contracts as soon as I told them we sold our business. Be smart, you judge whether you should start advertising with them.
After 30 years of business ownership there are a few services to be aware of when establishing a supplier relationship. YP has joined the ranks of the largest misleaders that are masters of setting up long term, auto renewing contracts. Waste removal suppliers, cell phone companies, Pitney Bowes & now YP are on my list.
My advice, run don't walk away from any Yellow Page service or sales effort. There are infinite amounts of better providers that are fair and ethical in the digital marketing game. They spin a great story but fail to deliver.
Yellow pages is a dinosaur that is losing market shares in marketing industry at rapid speed. The only way to keep in the business is by taking current contracts in hostage. Can't be cancelled and can't be downgraded eventhough they are able to offer new customers at 15x less of the old contract price. They outsource their "customer service " department to a company which operate based on bullying small businesses, not willing to work with their customer, yet claim to provide service. Small business owners, please do not subcribed with Yellow Pages, regardless what they offer. They are not a good business partner to work with if you want to grow your business.
YellowPages websites are cookie-cutter, fill in the blank, templates operated by poorly skilled content writers with poor grammar and have no skill with writing marketing content. They don't even realize or care when their photo doesn't match their text. See the picture of shrimp and they label it chicken or the photo of apple pie and call it a butter tart. Another example of green peppers that look half dead with poor green colour. They just like to use stock photos which are not representative and are misleading even though many authentic photos are sent to them. The liaison contact person does not follow thru on email communication regarding changes that are requested, and then plan to publish and go live with an embarrassing website with blatant errors that were not being being corrected after several email communications. It's like your time is up and they are done working with their customer/you! Then when you complain, rather than offer to make things right, and accept responsibility for not delivering what you paid for, they refer to their legal department and no chance of a refund even though they did not fulfill their obligation to deliver a personalized website for the business.
Did you know there is a difference between online and mobile online? I didn't and know I'm now being sued and supposed to pay dearly with my bank accounts being frozen, my assets ceased, and a lean put on house. The most, maybe, I can do is maybe get it down to the original amount if it can go to mediation. The lawyer I talked to said it sucks and they took advantage of you, but you verbally signed a contract and I have to pay not much they could do for me.
I should have stuck with my free Kijiji ad. This has been nothing but headaches and a waste of money. No one could find my ad I didn't receive a single phone call. I even lost money on a job and had someone put a review on the ad to see if that would help.
Stay away from Yellow Pages the dinosaur needs to go extinct. There are so many better options out there that don't take advantage of you.
Money down the drain and absolutely nothing to show for it. There is a 0 conversion from the ads And they don't care about it because they have a contract that can't be cancelled. See attached - from my email received today after 4 months of paying $500 per month and in a 12 month contract
If you are a small, medium or large sized business, please check your bank statements. Make sure you are not being charged $400/mth for Yellow Pages. If you, someone within your company, a former director, or former owner of your company signed a contract with Yellow Pages since the 1900's, you are still be charged. Yellow Pages auto renews their contracts in the hopes their clients don't notice. They don't communicate, they don't ask you to renew, they don't provide any marketing, this company is hanging on by the skin of their teeth and they don't mind taking advantage of anyone who once associated themselves with this dinosaur.
I have had adds with yellow pages since my business opened 10 years ago
Allways. On authorized renewal
This past December someone decided to renew without contacting me when I called to complain. Was told I was locked in for another year. And couldn't do any. Changes or cancel
They left me with no other choice other then retaining a lawyer
Yellow pages became a huge money grab and unauthorized renewals. I want no business with them ever again
Our yellow pages account has reverted back to 2011, a couple of addresses ago and we have no images. If we try to sign in to YP business, its a black page on Chrome browser with an iMac and the same on the Chrome browser with windows. Every time we try to upload, it comes back with a technical error. Thank god we don't need Yellow pages anymore really.
Answer: Hire a lawyer. They are scam artists... trust me. Stay far away from this company
Answer: Our contractual terms are for a 12-month period (or a 6-month period for certain products). Customers are able to cancel their contract with Yellow Pages by providing notice 3 months before the expiry of the term. If not, contracts automatically renew, as mentioned in our terms and conditions. We invite you to contact us at 1-844-875-4290 to discuss this further. Thank you.
Answer: They also posted my personal information to their site without permission. I recommend reporting them to Canada's Anti-spam regulatory body. You can report them here: https://www.fightspam.gc.ca/eic/site/030.nsf/frm-eng/MMCN-9EZV6S
Answer: My son in high school was harassed by a telemarketer and said no. He created an IT website in HS for a class. Two months later I got an invoice for $57 month. I told them my son has a Communication Learning Disability, a Medical Disability and is being treated for PTSD. They refused to help. I will go to BBB and ask my lawyer. My son should have hung up but they coerced him and he was too young and naive to know better. Shame on them!
