I run an independent consulting firm and used Yellow Pages for marketing online in my area. The online portal almost never worked and customer service was unresponsive to complaints. When I called to cancel, which should be a fairly straightforward request, the agent seemed confused and then put me on hold for over 30 minutes. They either hung up or waited until the call dropped and didn't bother to call me back, and then continued to charge me for their services.

Yellow pages has been nothing short of a nightmare, we have had them to do our email and made a website for us. email rarely works, website looks like a child made it and they also have the absolute worst customer service out there... good luck trying to understand or have what your saying understood. I think 98% of their customer service people dont even understand english. Just absolutely terrible in every single way. I would do the best i could to stay away from this horrible company and horrible customer service.

Worst experience ever

Stay away from these guys. They sell you on false claims, and then fast talk you into verbally agreeing to a year contract you don't even know you are getting into to. Do not ever agree to anything verbally, ask for a written copy and sing it then send it back. Once the contract is verbally signed, you get ZERO support. When my listing finally went online, my logo was missing, the company name was wrong, and the add was listed in the wrong city. Don't believe their exaggerated claims of their connection with GOOGLE, it's all sales tactics to get you money and then leave you in the dust. Do yourself a favour and advertise elsewhere to save your money and wasted time! 0/10

Biggest CON ever
November 23, 2017

Help us and take Yellow Pages to court! They are now sending emails threatening to send our file to collections, lawyers, court etc. We refuse to pay Yellow Pages! Avoid Yellow Pages at all costs! If they call, email etc DO NOT answer do not reply! They will record your voice as a signature and use it against you if you ever try to cancel. The 12 month term contract is a joke. We have received nothing but computer generated emails from fake people for jobs. SCAM!

This is by far the worst customer experience I've ever had while in business. These guys deserve the ratings found here, believe me, I'm a very reasonable person but this company makes it very difficult to remain diplomatic on the phone. No written contract, just a yearly invoice and a manager which promised to fix the issue, which never happened. Save your time and effort and skip this company entirely.

Beware of using Yellow Pages for reviews. I own a business and have a huge problem with competitors placing fraudulent reviews on sites. I have never had a company tell me there was nothing they can do and refuse to remove a fraudulent review but that's exactly what they did. If I'm listing my business on a site I expect to have some sort of monitoring software being used in order to prevent this from happening. If they just allow anyone to post from multiple fake accounts then it defeats the purpose of reviews Beware!

Terrible
September 19, 2019

I was contacted by a sales person to advertise my business. They made all kinds of promises to help me advertise. Only to find out that they took my money, Ive never gotten one phone call or customers contacts through YP services. I am now in collections because of YP and no business came through YP. Do not use them, they will just take your money and not get you any business st all. Ive gotten more results from Social media channels for free.

What a waste of time...
October 16, 2020

Reverse phone search only lets one know that other people are receiving calls from that number then you are asked to write a review. It does offer a search of cell numbers for a price, please be careful with that, the free trial need to be terminated or they will extract money using the information supplied by yourself.

Where to start - even after my CC details changed somehow they still withdraw money. Contracts lock you in for one year and renew automatically renewing for one more year. Then when you try to cancel your contract they not only hassle you verbally but charge you for the remainder of your term.
They claimed they sent an email asking if I wanted to renew --- they did not. I would not have renewed!

These people are thieves and should be avoided at all costs

I took over an apartment business but not continue the apartment. I've got lots of call asking for monthly rental, and overwhelm for summer worker rental but I didn't do it. I contact YP to delete the listing but instead they replace my contact phone to their obsolete business and phone number listing. Then ask me to pay if I need another update such as a business name or change of service detail. I wished I'd never contact them as no one that want to contact the apartment will reach me. Kept their obsolete non-existing number on the list. It's only annoying.

Biggest scam going.
June 13, 2017

Contracts are impossible to break and renewals are pretty much the same. 3 month notice required. Written via registered mail is the going route. I've not seen any company run on such a rock solid scam system. This place needs to be shut down and the owners should be sent to jail.

This is pretty much the boiler room.

Do not sign anything with them and never agree to anything over the phone. Ensure if you do cancel you get a written notice or they'll renew it on you. Quite often the reps just lie.

Extortionists
February 21, 2019

Got me into a verbal contract for a year, which I honoured by paying the amount in full. Instructed them to not renew the contract. A year later I get a call from their Accounts Receivable saying I have outstanding balance. My ad is not even on their website. Huge waste of time and money. I am writing this review while on hold for the last 15 mins with their Customer Service department.

Never again
October 1, 2020

Due to the pandemic the travel industry has been hit hard. Called to cancel and they say there was an email sent out to auto renew for the year. I did not receive the email. They will not let me cancel without a 3 month penalty. All they kept saying was that this was the only option and this is their way of helping. I have no problem with a 30 day cancellation but 3 months is way too much. When things pick up I will be finding another way to advertise.

Scammers

This company is not what it used to be, and i don't know how many people run it now, but I can tell for sure that they are not honest people. I signed a contract with them for a year only but they kept charging my credit card. Even though I made them send me an email before I sign saying that it was one year contract only. After illegitimately charging me for a few months I asked them -many times- for a refund, and every time they came up with a reason for not refunding, and now they are saying it will take a few months to get the refund to the card! Obviously, they want me to forget about it. So dishonest. Stay away from these guys.

Yp Not recommended, not effective and misleading phone sales tactics done by commissioned sales staff to trap you in a one year contract. Customer service is very poor, YP has never returned the money I overpaid and they misspelled my name on the invoice. Average wait time on the phone is about 20 minutes for customers service and ni follow ups?

Do NOT use this service

Yellow Pages is the worst company to use for advertising and marketing. They do not follow any ethical business practices and do not follow through on the advertising they say they will do. They misspelled my business name from the beginning but never fixed it, despite promising several times that it had been fixed. They constantly penalized me for "late" payments when I paid my invoices as soon as I received them. The mail strike caused problems and I was penalized. They continue to penalize me for "late" payments. Awful company. Don't get involved with them. There are much better marketing and advertising tools to spend your money on. No one reads Yellow Pages or uses them anymore anyway.

DON'T sign anything with them. When every second word is CONTRACT you now you're screwed. They refused to admit to an obvious wrong and my agent. That I thought was a pretty decent person refuses to return any correspondence, the one person that knows the wrong that's been done and now I'm left to deal with the excuse givers they call customer service. What a rip off, scam, joke, you name it! Their lack of ability to deal with this issue has lost them both my companies and all my respect for them.

The worst response and reviews I ever had in my life. Asking to speak to a manager I was told it is not possible, asking for the recording of my conversation and telephonic contract when I set an account up at YP the agent promised to sent it but then cut me off and discontinued the call!
As a consumer I should be able to cancel my account at any time. But it is automatically renewed and apparently it is on your verbal contract, which they could not provide to me.
Yellow Pages sucks.

Everything about this company is wrong. All the stats the employees give is complete lie. Yellow Pages is NOT the biggest directory in Canada. Not even close!
YellowPages digital solutions are very out dated and no use to any business of any size.
They lock businesses to one year contract and renew without any notice.
