Our family business has been with yellow pages for well over 50 years. They have a revolving door of sales reps and absolutely no accountability for their service and products. I did not review my contracts and will spend my advertising collars elsewhere.
Cancelled my service, the agent on the phone had no issues with the request, but then I kept on getting billed as normal. Now it's gone to collections even though no contract was ever signed! Huge scam! Do not use! Waste of money!
Not 1 sale from YP over 6 months. They refuse to cancel subscription so they will continue to withdrawal $142/month from my account. No compassion for small home based businesses trying to stay above water even during the financial strains of life today. As long as they bring in the money who cares about the little guy. Worst decision ever.
I just called to correct my business numbers were printed with wrong addresses. They don't even have control of what book they print. The person said that I should call the local phone company. We do not use land line and wireless phones for business already have our correct information. So don't waste your money for advertisement on yellow pages. They act like they don't care about their errors.
Yellowpages is overpriced, they make you sign a 12-month contract probably because they know their services are terrible. I am not sure anyone uses Yellowpages online anymore. There are so many other options much better for ROI than Yellow pages business
Also, the customer service is terrible.
I've been on hold for over 30 minutes now, so I'm taking the time to write a review or two. This company is impossible to do business with. They are a digital marketing company, and it seems the ONLY way to get a hold of them is by waiting on hold for hours. Search as I might, I can't find so much as an email address on their web site. I'll save you from reading my long winded complaints about this company, and just sum it up with simple advice to save your sanity, and don't give these people your money.
Seriously.
I respected this company at one time. Now they are just out to scam a business as far as I am concerned. They do NOT listen to their customers. I could rant for an hour. I will sum up one part of my complaint. They have shady contract "Auto" renewal practices that they did not make well known. And... no no you can NOT cancel their yearly (auto renewal) contract unless you do so within a small window of time just before it renews again... and! Sure they can stop putting your ads on line. BUT! They will still be charging you. Because in my opinion they are not an ethical business anymore. Way to go Yellow Pages.
I set up an appointment with True Flame Gas Repair Services in Mississauga and Jeff came to repair my gas fireplace. After two minutes he suggested a remote starter for an astronomical price, to solve the electrical issue according to him I had. After opting out of his solution and telling him that I will call my electrician or another company. He stormed out of my house and he threatened me to issue a Violation Correction Notice so it will cost me a lot more. That he did. He is the one to come back to my house and charge me whatever he wants. I don not feel comfortable with him in my house. Now I am stock. Be aware of him and do not let him into your house. He is out to get you with the most expensive solution.
This is very unfortunate for all the responsible and professional service providers we have out there.
I signed a 6 month contract to get advertising done for my business. Its been 5 months and none of their advertising has worked. I have called many times and told them this. They always say they will do something else to get customers to engage. I feel like all the reports they show are fake. So far I haven't had any customers whatsoever from their advertising. I wasted too much money on them where i could have used this money towards something that actually worked. I tried to cancel my contract but they said it wasn't possible. So i waited out 6 months and made sure they dont re new my contract at the end of the term. I have about a month left and still NOTHING has worked! Horrible!
I've had absolutely no results, no return on investment from any of their campaigns, they automatically renew contracts without asking, with no respect for their customers. They refuse to cancel, I even got yelled at by one of the customer service reps for insisting that my contract be cancelled. Only to then receive threatening letters demanding payment for a contract that I never renewed, and asked to be cancelled. They obviously need money badly, very badly. I am a very reasonable person, but this company has nothing going for it, not a single positive point that I can think of.
Stay away from Yellowpages advertising at any cost. First of all it is out of date and their advertising barely works. Secondly they trap you into contracts with just a yes or no said on the telephone, you don't have to sign or anything. What they trapped me in was essentially useless and i just flushed 1000$ down the drain. I HATE this company with a passion.
This is such a scam! They have horrible customer service, I have tried to cancel several times, and I have been stuck on the phone on hold for at least 25 minutes EACH time. You would think that with high technology and primarily an online business, there should be a online help option that you can chat with a real person within minutes.
They did not review the terms of the contract in detail before signing people up, and sticking it to them. Once I *hope to get out of my contract, I will never ever go with them again and will never recommend them. The automatic renewal of the service should never be happening without a warning, but that is how they scam to get more money out of innocent hardworking business who thought this sounded like a great idea!
I am a volunteer administrative board member of a non profit organization which offers help and support to individuals in trouble through a self help program. We are supported solely through volunteer contributions by our members and operate on a very limited budget. In February of 2018 we had recognized the futility of our "Yellow Pages" subscription and decided to cancel so that we could put our funds to better use. I was told we would have to pay until years end, and now they tell me our contract runs until the end of February 2020! The story continues to change, and they show no compassion or good will. Let your fingers do the walking away from these scammers!
Seems they lost credit card number... now looking to get it again. But sending receipts from time to time? No charges on card? Aggressive sales... slick over selling scam to dramatically boost charges/fees at sign up. Nothing good to be said about YP from me... poor deal all around
Absolutely atrocious service. We have tried to cancel unauthorized payments and they will not call. They claim an 'investigation' must be done before we can cancel and it will take 12 weeks to perform a cancellation investigation. Aside from the fact that I spent 44 minutes on hold to reach an incompetent agent who gave me the run around (Employee # *******) really pisses me off. They don't answer the phone when you call the toll free number and they are essentially a complete scam.
Hi Kelso, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
We are proud to help Canadian small and medium businesses grow with a wide variety of marketing solutions. We would like to apologize for the longer than usual wait times on our customer service line. Our contractual terms are for a 12-month period (or a 6-month period for certain products). Customers are able to cancel their contract with Yellow Pages by providing notice 3 months before the expiry of the term. If not, contracts automatically renew, as mentioned in our terms and conditions. We invite you to contact us at 1-844-875-4290 to discuss this further. Thank you.
I don't usually get annoyed enough to write a negative review but this time I make an exception. First off the cost of my add increased by about 46% when it renewed in May. I let that go at the time. But it is now September and the ad just is not bringing in business when compared to other less expensive ads so I called to cancel. I was told that I am locked into that amount till May 1 /20 on a contract that I don't recall agreeing to after the first year. The customer person did not care one bit that I was not receiving value for my money. Apparently to them the only thing important is the cash in their pockets. I regret ever doing business with them. I would never treat my customers the way they treated me.
It does not matter which of many 'phone numbers one calls, they are al experiencing a higher than normal level of calls. Bull$#*!!
Call a payment line and you get someone, ask to make changes to advertising, and you go on hold for ever.
This is crap. Bad company to deal with.
Hi Michael, we are very proud of our mission to help Canadian SBMs grow, and we are sorry to read about your negative experience. Very bad business, inflexible and misleading. They called us once about a free trial. They then made an online ad we didn't even know existed. It had our business name but linked to another business. It described the other business as well. We didn't know about it until one year later, when they also "auto renewed" it. So now they want us to pay for 2 years worth of a crappy incorrect ad we never wanted. Stay far away from YP. Hang up the phone if they call.
Hi Megant. We're sorry to hear you had this experience and apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced following this situation. We can very much understand your frustration. I run an independent consulting firm and used Yellow Pages for marketing online in my area. The online portal almost never worked and customer service was unresponsive to complaints. When I called to cancel, which should be a fairly straightforward request, the agent seemed confused and then put me on hold for over 30 minutes. They either hung up or waited until the call dropped and didn't bother to call me back, and then continued to charge me for their services.
Yellow pages has been nothing short of a nightmare, we have had them to do our email and made a website for us. email rarely works, website looks like a child made it and they also have the absolute worst customer service out there... good luck trying to understand or have what your saying understood. I think 98% of their customer service people dont even understand english. Just absolutely terrible in every single way. I would do the best i could to stay away from this horrible company and horrible customer service.
Answer: Hire a lawyer. They are scam artists... trust me. Stay far away from this company

Answer: They also posted my personal information to their site without permission. I recommend reporting them to Canada's Anti-spam regulatory body. You can report them here: https://www.fightspam.gc.ca/eic/site/030.nsf/frm-eng/MMCN-9EZV6S
Answer: My son in high school was harassed by a telemarketer and said no. He created an IT website in HS for a class. Two months later I got an invoice for $57 month. I told them my son has a Communication Learning Disability, a Medical Disability and is being treated for PTSD. They refused to help. I will go to BBB and ask my lawyer. My son should have hung up but they coerced him and he was too young and naive to know better. Shame on them!
