I fully paid for a nonrefundable hotel booking (Hotel Amadeus in Krakow Poland) through Travelocity in Jan of 2020 prior to Covid. Booking was for late June 2020. Post Covid, All travel plans to get to Poland were canceled by the cruise lines the airlines etc. 100 of all the other vendors in this Travel Chain refunded deposits and payments 100%. (Iceland Air, Seven Seas Cruises, Whizz Air, Lot Air) The only ones not to refund were Hotel Amadeus and Travelocity. Travelocity has not paid the hotel yet but says they cant refund the money because the hotel refuses to give Travelocity the authorization to refund. In this case why even use a third party service like Travelocity to book when they wont hold unscrupulous vendors to account. Will never use Travelocity again as they add no value to the Travel chain.
I booked a flight from Taipei to Cape Town a couple of weeks ago through this website. Everything was swell until Singapore Airlines changed my itinerary on me. I contacted Travelocity by phone as soon as I found out. The first customer service operator found a flight for me that suited my needs, but she said she couldn't book it at the moment because she couldn't reach Singapore Airlines. She said she would contact me within 72 hours to provide an updated itinerary by email and call me to make sure that I am satisfied with the updated information. 4 days later, she still hadn't emailed or called. So I phoned in to see what was going on. I expected to be transferred to her when I called, but the second operator took over. I just assumed that he would start from where the first operator and I left off, but he started from the very beginning. After two hours, he told me that all flights were fully booked. I was forced to cancel my flight. This second operator said he would fully refund the money. Hopefully I get it.
We booked a condo in Taos, NM for a ski vacation in JULY 2018. In NOVEMBER 2018, Travelocity called and told us that the condo that we booked had closed down for good. We later received a phone call from the general manager of the condo stating that they had NOT closed down. We found out that Travelocity did not send them our booking until November, at which time they were fully booked. The manager stated that this type of thing happens on a regular basis with Travelocity. He called all of the other condos on the mountain to attempt to find us another booking, but since it was one month before peak season at this point, he could not find us anything else and we had to cancel our ski trip.
I booked a package that included flights and hotel with Travelocity. Check in to the hotel was for Feb 10th -2023... when I arrived the hotel was closed since January 9th 2023. I got in touch with Travelocity on Feb 11th and till today I requested a refund for the hotel since they advertised it and I paid for it on their site and they have been giving me the run around. They claim they are waiting on the hotel to respond to confirm closure and no one has responded... duh! The hotel is closed! I told them I paid them and did not book directly for the hotel. They refuse to take responsibility and told me the hotel needs to refund them in order for me to receive a refund. SCAM is the proper word. I will never use them again and I hope people do the research before considering them as a booking option. Terrible service...
Good luck trying to get a hold of customer service... been on hold a total of 8 hours counting all the times they dropped my calls or the call went to a fast busy... do not use them..
I just used travelocity for the first time. They say best price guarantee but they do not follow through. I am vacationing with friends, we ordered the exact same flight itinerary less than 24 hours apart and I was charged $90 more ($45 more a roundtrip ticket). I called immediately after placing my purchase. I had to call the customer service phone number three times before it worked and the woman I spoke to basically told me "thats just the way it is"; unhappy with this response and lack of professionalism, I asked to speak to a supervisor. She took my call back number just in case we were disconnected. I was placed on hold for 15 minutes, when the supervisor finally answered he accidentally hung up on me. No one called me back. Later in the evening I sent an e-mail to their support since I did not want to relive my terrible phone experience. I received a message 3 days later informing me to complete a "Travelocity Price Guarantee Application Form"; I completed it and explained my situation. They denied my request because apparently I paid as a guest and did not create an account (I do not recall selecting 'guest' as an option). SO basically I am out $90 and Travelocity DOES NOT guarantee the lowest price. DO NOT USE.
Atrocious customer service and complete unwillingness to assist. Covid-19 lockdown resulted in an inability to travel and have been waiting over 6 weeks for my refund. They say they have been unable to contact the hotel, however the hotel dispute and have in fact emailed direct, with me included as a CC. The refund policy states 24 hours for a Covid refund, however this is clearly a blatant falsehood.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
This is a very secure site to get book hotels, flights, vacations... I have checked other sites in the web and I always find the best prices here. I would recommend this site.
I have used travelocity a lot for work. It's been a great way to get a good price at the last minute. I've never had a problem with the reservation, so definitely happy with the service.
We purchased a 2 night stay through Travelocity with a hotel in North Florida. We had a long drive and didn't get to hotel until the early morning. We confirmed with Travelocity that our reservation was confirmed. We paid IN FULL both nights. Upon arrival the hotel told us that there was no room reserved and we couldn't do anything about it. We called Travelocity and they said it's the responsibility of the hotel. Well we put in a complaint with our bank because we paid for 2 rooms in full that we didn't get to use. Travelocity kept the money and didn't offer anything to us. MY FAMILY AND MY COMPANY WILL NEVER BOOK THROUGH YOUR TRAVEL SITE AGAIN. Worst customer service and completely unfair when it comes to booking.
After planning what is suppose to be a trip of a lifetime through your company, I am now totally convinced your company is nothing but dishonest, deceitful and downright liars. We were contacted by a rep from your company late Sunday to reach out immediately because of a dramatic change in our flights. We were told our flight from Madison, WI to Atlanta had been cancelled and we need to find other options. We asked for more time to do research on our options. Your rep informed us that we had a one time offer to change without additional costs. We spent hours researching new flights, new dates, new hotels to find out when we called back the cancelled flight was back on... and to change to our new flight, date and hotels was going to cost us thousands more! What? After many more hours on the phone talking to your internal team, we still have no resolution. No one there is willing to admit the original flight out of Madison was NEVER cancelled! (We reached out to the airline directly and asked) We were outright lied to AND now youre not listening and are in denial of what occurred. What a disgraceful company. Never again!
Do not under any circumstances use www.travelocity.com. They are a rip off like non-other!
First, they quote you a price for a trip say $2,500. If you dare make one small insignificant
Change the price for your trip goes to $3,500. In my case, it was a small change, due to their
Mistake or misrepresentation for a flight that was supposed to leave JFK to LAX on 10-9-2014,
And instead I got a trip from JFK to San Jose, CA and they will not change it, unless you pay
Them the extra $1,000. They can go to___ as far as I am concerned. Do not use them under any circumstances unless you want to get ripped off, your business schedule ruined
And other consequences due to their mistakes or misrepresentations. Use priceline, or booking buddy or any other reputable service, if the service contains www.travelocity.com
Avoid it, and use another service that does not have travelocity.com in it. You will be doing
Yourself a favor. By the way, check it out for yourself. Call travelocity.com at *******420
And when prompted, push the key to change your reservation. You will be asked for information. Do not give them any. Insist on speaking to a live representative. You are in
For a 1-2 hour wait. Funny, when making a reservation, if they screw it up or not, it takes them appx. 5-10 minutes to relieve you of your money. I will pass this on to every United States Government, State Government, and Local Government employee and/or contractor that I know, so hopefully this blight, known as www.travelocity.com will go away on it's own.
Up to date travel information for the Airflight consumer. Good comparison flight costing information. Good scheduling analysis, including liftoff and arrival times. Don't forget your Passports.
I purchased two tickets to Barcelona. I was informed by Travelocity in an email that my ticket was canceled. Weirdly, only my ticket, not my partner's. The email went on to offer me two options to change my outgoing flight. It made no mention of my return flight. I called and spoke to an agent who said I was able (and therefore my partner was also) to cancel our reservations since the new outgoing flight options changed our wait time in Dublin from 2 hours to 12. I said I wanted to discuss with my partner. I called back and stated we wanted to cancel both reservations. After a wait of 40 minutes I was told my reservation was canceled but my partner's was not because the problem was with my return flight! (my return was different than my partner's. This was not mentioned in the email I received. Their resolution was my partner would keep the same reservation and I could make a new one. There was no concern that this would cost me more since I was booking later. While on hold I visited the site of the airline providing the service and found shorter and less expensive options. You are not getting the best deal you can find through Travelocity. A little extra time on the internet to visit airline sites will find better deals. Expedia owns Travelocity, Orbitz, CheapTickets, Hotwire and eBookers. I suggest you stay away from all of them.
I have always had a great experience with Travelocity. I usually always book last minute and when I do I always get the best rates. I have also recommended this service to my customers as well.
Im disgusted. Last week I made a reservation for a hotel stay last night. I cancelled 2 days after making it. I made sure it was within the time frame to prevent charges. Then this morning I get notice I was charged $187. Called the hotel who said I was a no show. I explained situation and they referred me to Travelocity. I called. Rep was kind and tried to help but had to pass me onto supervisor. Supervisor was kind and tried to help but had to contact corporate. On the phone the supervisor explained corporate was able to confirm my activity online and that I tried to cancel. They said my cancellation was not successful. I followed the link texted to me to cancel the reservation. It seemed quite simple and took me to a page that said cancel this reservation and I clicked on it. There was never any indication that the cancellation process that i followed as instructed was not successful. Now Im out $187 for a trip I cancelled. And I repeat- corporate CONFIRMED on the phone call that they could see the cancellation steps I took... but it wasnt successful. Im in social work and hardly make the extra $ to just throw around. Im so disgusted with Travelocity. So disgusted.
I booked a trip through travelocity a few times. Never had any real trouble, but this last time the price that was on the site and what I was charged was about a $300 difference! I had already paid and couldn't get a refund. When I complained to travelocity, they apologized and offered "coupons" to use, not a refund. Ok fine. I figured I would get a $300 credit. Nope... they issued a $200 coupon, and a few $50 coupons. I had a year to use them. Well, I just booked a trip early this summer and wanted to use the coupons. I found out they couldn't be combined, and there was a laundry list of don't associated with them! WTH? So I booked a hotel for one night that was only $149. I HAD to use the $200 coupon, but didn't get the difference back! I couldn't use more than one coupon, so forget the $50 ones. Then on top of that, I had to PAY for the taxes! So I used the free "coupon" lost $50, and then paid $35 in taxes to the hotel! What a freaking rip off. Will NEVER use this site again. Coupons are totally useless, I had to finally call to figure out how to use them and find them in my account! They had to do it manually, they couldn't talk me through it on the computer and I doubt you could even use it on the computer. My only saving grace was that I wrote the coupon amounts and dates down in a book, so when I called I had info. This is a scam. Rather use Orbitz or another site...
I ordered a car paid through Travelocity. The company was closed and the car not available and Travelocity refused to give me a refund. I will NEVER use this again. Nor expedia, their parent company.
This is the 1st time I've used Travelocity and the absolute last time. I used Priceline a few months ago to book a flight (4 days, 3 nights, rental car, suite on South Beach Miami) it was a lot less than what I paid this time with Travelocity. I thought we were getting as good of a deal as our last vacation. BOY WAS I WRONG! The first room we went to at the Luxor Hotel smelled like mildew and all the way in the back corner. We overlooked the A/C's and no view outside. The bathroom light flickered on and off. The heating and cooling system is like the ones you see in older motels. No wall unit. We went to the front desk and asked for another room. I told them for the price I paid, I should get a very nice room. He said he wasn't sure how much I had paid, but this was the room that was booked through the Travel Agency (Travelocity). We were given a Wi-Fi passcode. My photos always back up over it. I took over 705 photos, thinking my phone backed everything up, I deleted my photos. Oh well, I still have the memories. But, beware -- don't trust the Wi-Fi. I'm not sure what we paid for. The rooms did not have a refrigerator, microwave, table, couch... etc for the insane price.
Prior to purchasing a very expensive travel package, I called Travelocity to confirm that if I spend hundreds of dollars on the travel insurance that said 'cancel for any reason', that I would get a refund. The representative I spoke to said yes, I was understanding the policy correctly. I went ahead and purchased the package.
Because of some personal situations, we were not sure if we could go ahead with the trip, so yesterday I called Travelocity again to confirm that if we decide to cancel, we will get a refund. The representative told me we would (I am quoting her) 'get a full refund'.
Today when I called to cancel, suddenly the situation has changed. We can only get vouchers for the trip, not a refund. My case has been escalated a couple times, but there seems to be no recourse for me. TWO separate Travelocity agents gave me the same information, from which I made purchase decisions, but now the company won't stand behind what I was told. Why is a training issue on their end MY PROBLEM? This trip was thousands of dollars, and I would NEVER have booked it if I had been told the truth by the two agents I spoke to earlier.
Answer: They tell you that you can use the credit within 12 months. When you try to book the flight, there is no way to apply the credit yourself, so you have to speak with a rep to do it. They place you on hold for hours! When you finally do speak with someone who can help you, you are told there is a re-booking fee added to be able to use the credit, making it cost more than if you just purchase a new ticket without adding the "credit"! Bottom line is that they say there is no penalty and that you get the credit, but you do not. They are liars and unethical, at best.
Answer: Bridgett, It is simply because this company has terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE customer service! It seems like the people who gave positive reviews have not had to make any changes in their arrangements--if they needed to change something, I believe their experience would have been negative. Who wants to do business with a company that is only a fair weather friend? Not me! This was by far the WORST experience I have had in dealing with a company. I will never use them again and I tell everyone I can to avoid them.
Answer: I don't know that. All I know is that I will not use them ever. They basically let me go after I had payed for the tickets. They are not an honest company. Good luck I hope you find your answers.
Answer: I totally disagree, you will never understand if you don't like to understand. If you try tonipen your ears and listen carefully without so much objections in mind, i bet you will understand. If you are a frequent flyer, you will know that these travel agencies has no control of the policies of the tickets, as they are implemented by airlines. And when you book a trip online, either from travel agencies or airlines websites, you will be informed of the policies. I bet you know how to read and understands simple english word, like non refundable right?
