I used Travelocity recently and booked my stay at the Wingate by Wynham in Richardson Texas while I looked for a house after I moved from Charlotte NC. While I was there I enjoyed my peaceful, clean and very comfortable room and the continental breakfast was the best I've seen. But what really stood out to me was the courtesy of the staff. The cleaning ladies were very sweet and so helpful with great attitudes. And the manager was very helpful too but the best of them all was the front desk clerk named Brandon. He was a great help and went beyond his normal duty to make my stay a blessed experience. Whoever hired that guy deserves an award. Ive never known of an employee of a hotel to be that nice, courteous and concerned about my stay. Even down to if I knew where I was going and what to eat In my area. Without me asking. Thats what great customer service looks and feels like. I congratulate the owners of this hotel and I commend the staff on a job extremely well done especially with the choices in hiring your staff. Great job cleaning ladies, Joe and super great job Brandon. And thanks Travelocity for giving me this great choice. Thank you all ---- Rev. Darreyl Hunter

DO NOT USE TRAVELOCITY!
November 3, 2015

I tried booking a flight the cost went up twice before I called to complain, I spoke to someone who couldn't help me, I asked for a supervisor, I then was kept on hold for 35 minutes before someone picked up, she said she would check flights and kept me holding again for 15 more minutes before it seems she hung up on me. It seems the website offers flight combinations that the airlines don't allow and in the meantime the pricing for the other flights continue to rise. Very disappointed, Travelocity lost me as a customer.
I just went to my credit card account and saw Travelocity CHARGED MY CARD 11 TIMES and told me I was not charged at all!

I booked a room through Travelocity. When we arrived, I was told the room I booked (2 double beds, at a higher rate than 1 bed) was overbooked and we were given a room with 1 bed. I asked the hotel for a price adjustment based on the rates I was quoted online when making this reservation, to which I was told I would need to call Travelocity. I called, told a woman my problem, who unknowing to me, transferred me to some man who did not identify himself with a company when he answered. I told him the problem and that I requested a price adjustment, he had an attitude with me the entire time, even though I was calm and telling him how much of an inconvenience it was to my family as we needed 2 beds. He cut me off, told me he was going to get someone who could help me with this and put me on hold. I was on hold for over 20 minutes until I disconnected. I didn't want to waste anymore time on hold when I figured no one was going to help me there. Worst customer service I've ever encountered. Will never do business with Travelocity again.

Credit for changed flight
December 7, 2021

So we realized well within the allowed timeframe to make changes to your flight, and also had the flight cancellation protection on the trip. So long story short, the flight was for the wrong day for the return flight. I went in to change the reservation which told me to click here to change my flight. I did that and it literally ran me back through the whole
Process again and charged me for another flight. I called customer service and he told me I would receive a credit for the first flight. I never got an email and I never received a credit. I called Travelocity and went theough 4-5 people and finally asked to speak to a supervisor. Advertised send that there was not a supervisor to take my call. They put me on hold again. Disconnected me and I called back. Now we are at the 2 hour mark! I'm still on hold and when I tell you, do not EVER book through Travelocity I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Imagine, I typed all this and I'm still waiting for a supervisor for a s one time. They're calls are outsourced to another they country and I can barely understand them. So, with all that said, after two hours I'm just going to chalk this up to a lesson learned and the app is being deleted from my phone as we speak. Again, "DO NOT BOOK WITH TRAVELOCITY"! Screw these people!

Dont buy their insurance
February 4, 2016

First i dont want to come across as a whack job traveler. Business is business... not everything works out... thats life... but decieving people... hiding the facts while pretending to be open... honest isnt right...

Travelocity ad said..."we understand things happen so you need to change your plans"... so i paid $39.95 for insurance to cover what the ad said could be because..."changes for any reason"... should have known... if it sounds too good...

So i take the first leg of my trip... arrive ok flight hotel as promised by them... great... now... i need to change my flight home... sorry..."insurance only covers first flight"...

No where does it say that... says "before departure"... yeah... your first one. Spent an hour on the phone with a rep from travelocity... then a supervisor TC... real name?

Again legalieze... insurance fine print... but honestly why dont they say..."if you make the first flight"... your insurance is of no value...

So if i have a sick daughter... am at my vacation spot first flight over... and need to go home early... i wasted my money on a useless insurance policy... fine print.

Would the president of travelocity or TC... the company line quoting guy... buy this insurance?

Dont think so and now... i know. Dont buy the insurance. I wont use travelocity or expedia... yeah they are related... again sad... i used them and trusted them but can u sell something that is deceptive... and not be affected?

Terrible experience. I booked a flight for my partner from Atlanta to London. Paid for a premium economy ticket. He wanted to change his return flight so i called Travelocity to make the change. The first agent I spoke to didn't understand the simple concept of a day change and asked me if I would consider another airline. I told him no I simply wanted to change the existing ticket I had already purchased. He told me he would have to refer me to his supervisor. 40 minutes on hold later and I got through to a supervisor who changed the flight. Only problem - he downgraded my partner to an economy ticket erroneously. I only found out when I went to the airline website and saw his seat in economy. Their Itinerary still said premium economy. Imagine if he had gone to the airport and been told there? Awful. I called Travelocity again. Once again had to wait 30 minutes for a supervisor to deal with me. He acknowledged that the change was their error but I had to call back when corporate was open to make the change back without it costing me. I have now called back for a 3rd time and have been sitting on hold for 62 minutes and counting without anyone actually being able to connect to a supervisor. DISGUSTING that I have to be inconvenienced this way to fix something that was THEIR error. I will NEVER use this company again and would advise any one else to avoid like the plague. The few dollars you save on the flight is not worth the hassle. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Cannot express how strongly you should avoid.

I wish I would have seen this site before I booked. Travelocity and their "guarantee" is bogus! They do NOT reimburse, they do NOT help, they do NOT respond to emails, and customer care is a JOKE.
I booked a flight to Vegas, and then the next day I seen THE SAME FLIGHT, SAME HOTEL, SAME DAYS for $200.00 cheaper. I "submitted my application" for refund of the difference and $50.00 travel coupon, received a generic email reply basically saying, Go on your trip, come back and we will issue credit. BULLKRAPP!
I am still waiting, I have contacted customer service, I have replied to the email- who in turn told me to call customer service- who in turn told me to contact the guarantee division (apparently, they don't have a phone in that department) via email, and got another generic reply... they WILL NOT issue credit. Something needs to be done about their lies, and bogus claims! NEVER BOOK WITH THEM unless you are sure you want to see your trip cheaper, and NOT get your money back!

Booked a vacation for one price, got an email the next day informing me it didn't go through. I then called Travelocity and was informed that we could no longer get that price, because the deal was only for the day we booked it on. Tried to resolve the issue on the phone, was informed that a supervisor would call back; supervisor never called back. Called Travelocity back myself to try and resolve the issue. Came down to a Travelocity agent saying there was a communication issue between them and the cruise line and they can not do anything about it. They were kind enough to give the option to down-grade rooms and pay a higher price (sarcasm). They do NOT honor their advertised prices, even after you book a trip. If something is messed up on their end, the customer pays for it, or doesn't get it. They do NOT take accountability for the mishaps on their end. Currently have plane tickets and no place to vacation. Thank you Travleocity for being more concerned with your own pocket book, than the consumers satisfaction.
What I took away with my experience: Go directly to the hotel, cruise, or airline and book.

I have made a reservation on 08.10.2015 for 1 night stay at Hostel 44 and my cheking in was supposed to be on 11.10.2015. At 11:00 PM I arrived at 13 Kyrnigradska str. And was totally shocked to find out that the hostel (Hostel 44)does NOT EXIST!
Furthemore, according to the people who were living nearby, there was no such place at that address in the past at all or any other sort of accommodation. According to the neighbours, 5 moths ago at the same address somebody has given several rooms for rent (part of his/her apartment), but the Bulgarian authorities had shut them down.
So, at 11 o'clock in the evening me and a friend of mine, had to stay on the street in the pouring rain, without an idea where to go. Only the fortune, had brought us to a Jewish hotel ( Levitt hotel), which was completely full at that time ( just as several other places we had the chance to check before), but the staff was kind enough to leave us in the kitchen and saved us from sleeping on the street during a severe rain storm. The staff explained to us that this is not the only time they accommodated guests, who were cheated by booking.com
In my opinion, you are promoting fake accommodations in order to get access to my credit card details and to use them for criminal purposes.

Time was, when buying airline tickets online SAVED you money! Those days are past. Jut about all sites are showing the same high prices these days.
I've had two bad experiences with Travelocity:

I used Travelocity to buy transatlantic airfare, the was a problem with ticketing which I thought was resolved well before the day of travel, but re-emerged 24 hours before my flight- I was up at 3am with customer service getting it straightened out- which I was told it was... until I was in Germany waiting for my connecting flight and WHAT DO YOU KNOW... IT WASN'T FIXED AT ALL!

The second problem again happened when I was in Europe. They emailed me to let me know my return flight was canceled, but didn't take into account the 5 hour time difference! I ended up going all the way to the airport only to find out I wasn't going to be leaving that day!

Travelocity is non-responsive
June 3, 2024
Updated review

When a reservation is not fully honored on a pre-paid booking, Travelocity is not receptive or your advocate for obtaining a refund

Date of experience: June 2, 2024

Travelocity is not your advocate when a booking matter becomes complicated and unfulfilling. Beware of using a less -rated automobile rental agency such as Autovia (located off site at the Milan Linate Airport). This auto agency cancelled my pre-paid reservation of $126. On their site because I did not have an International Driving Permit ( one can be issued online in 3 minutes by AAA@ $45.00). Autovia would not let me purchase it online while standing at their site. Autovia told me to get my refund through Travelocity...who later advised me Autovia would not authorize the refund. Five times I submitted for a refund and nether company would refund the pre-paid amount. Autovia is evidently running a scam. Travelocity tried to placate me while asking for my contact telephone number — but they would not call me. Travelocity does not specify by the confirmation that Autovia requires an IDP along with a valid USA drivers license. I went back to Linate Airport and rented an auto for 8 days (@ $1,000.) from Avis without having an IDP needed — no problem. Boycott Travelocity and Autovia. Caveat Emptor.

I have been dealing with Travelocity since March 2020 trying to get back $470 for my flights that had to be cancelled due to COVID. I have called and messaged many times; I have been put on hold for hours, hung up on, texts closed out; I have escalated to supervisors and was shut down. I was told to go to JetBlue but then redirected back to Travelocity. They will not give the money back; they will not allow a family member to use the money; they made it an extreme/near impossible challenge for me to even use the money. The credit is noted to be "JetBlue" credit and subject to their rules which, means a family member can use the credit yet Travelocity is negating what it's stating and saying that, that is not allowed. They can not produce formal documentation of this policy and every time I asked I was either hung up on or put on hold. I have been patronized and ignored. $470 to this company is nothing. I have even tried to contest the charges but, failed. I have read through many many reviews and realized my story is exactly the same. This is not right and the sign of really poor, crook like business model. I am still fighting to get my money back but, in the mean time it is my mission to make sure I share my story along with the others to help prevent this from happening to others. Please do not go through this company. It is a terrible, useless 3rd party company that does nothing for you but, lock you in with red tape. You will be better off ordering directly from the airlines/hotels/car company's. I will never use Travelocity again and will continue to discourage people around me from using it.

I tried to purchase a flight the other day but the site kept hanging up when I tried to enter the passenger info. I ended up calling an agent and she tried to make the reservation for me, but told me it wouldn't work because of a problem with AirTran's website. She had already taken all of my credit card info and told she would call me back when she could get the reservation made. She then called me back and told me she could not get the reservation to go through. She told me about a different flight with USAir for a slightly greater price, and so I took that. She made the reservation and sent me my confirmation email. I hung up and went to look at my bank account. Travelocity charged me for BOTH flights. They now have an extra 1500 bucks of my money! Taken out for a flight that they said could not be purchased and for which I did not get a confirmation email! I have been calling them everyday and they keep telling me that the earlier charges will drop away, but they still haven't. I am waiting until the 5th and after that I am handing the matter over to my bank if nothing is fixed. I am NEVER going to use Travelocity again!

We used Travelocity to book a flight and hotel in Washington D. C. Due to a snowstorm, we needed to leave a day earlier than expected. When checking out of the hotel, we inquired about getting a refund for the night we wouldn't be using. They told us that because we booked through Travelocity, we couldn't deal with the hotel directly. I e-mailed Travelocity when we got home but they said they could not do anything over e-mail. So then I called. After being on hold for over an hour and then repeatedly having to provide itinerary numbers, confirm numbers and flight numbers, I could see that they had no intention of refunding any of my money. Then while I sat there on hold for the beginning of the second hour, I was just disconnected. Completely dropped the call. And even though they have my phone number (I know this since they asked for it 3 times to confirm my itinerary) they didn't bother to call me back. I will try sending another e-mail (I WILL NOT GET ON THE PHONE AGAIN) but I'm sure I won't get any positive response. So lesson learned is NEVER book through Travelocity. You are so much better off booking directly with the airlines and hotels.

STAY AWAY!
May 1, 2014

STAY AWAY!
Stay Away. Use Travelocity to see what's out there, then book directly with the hotel.

I was double charged by a hotel which I booked through Travelocity. Travelocity has the attitude that it is between you and the hotel, even if you booked it through them. They don't seem concerned that their customers may be cheated by a hotel on a continuing bases. Their "customer service" is in another part of the world. They have difficulty understanding you and you have difficulty understanding them. I don't know how many times I had to explain to them that I was charged when I booked (according to my credit card statement) then charged again when I checked out. They will never call you back to see if the problem was resolved because THEY DON'T CARE! They wan't you to call them and then you have to repeat everything again. A GOOD COMPANY will follow the problem until it is resolved.

I ended up resolving this with little help from them. STAY AWAY!

Edit: Eventually, by working with the hotel and with total resistance from Travelocity, we solved the problem. Travelocity had purchased a small booking company (in Spain) and were transitioning their bookings into Travelocity. When I booked through Travelocity, it directed me (unknown to me) to the purchased company who charged me. Then Travelocity charged me again. Hence the double billing. It was totally the fault of Travelocity, yet they resisted doing anything about it until the hotel showed them their error. STAY AWAY!

Why can't I give travelocity 0 stars? Or negative stars?
These LOWLIFE TRAVELOCITY people put you on hold forever
The story: my flight was rescheduled for another day
I tried to call to cancel my car reservation; I still will be flying, just no car.
The TRAVELOCITY drones say that they have to call the car rental company directly, that they've already charged my credit card for a reservation I haven't picked up the car yet.
The car rental company (when I called them) says they haven't gotten any of my $, they don't charge until I pick up the car.
So Travelocity scumbags have my car rental money, and it's taking me hours on hold to get the car reservation canceled.
DON'T COMBINE A CAR RENTAL WITH YOUR FLIGHT. CALL THE CAR RENTAL COMPANY DIRECTLY AND YOU WILL SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF GRIEF AND TIME...
THEY WILL WASTE YOUR TIME DON"T USE THIS SCUMBAG COMPANY TRAVELOCITY SUCKS.
STAY AWAY STAY AWAY FAR AWAY FROM TRAVELOCITY!
NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!
