I have won 17 or 18 items. I have received 8 of them so far. The jewelry is beautiful. Have not used my ear piercing gun yet. It needs to have metal backs for the stud posts, not plastic or rubber backs. But I enjoy the bidding and the excitement of trying to win each item.
Ordered some magnifying glasses, just to see if they were any god. Product received badly crushed due to poor packaging, however, product was still serviceable to test.
Now, I'm an optometrist by trade, and make glasses for a living. I wasn't expecting much from these, but at least I expected they did SOMETHING!
In that, they failed dismally.
It is physically impossible for the product to work as stated.
You could not get a fused image
They were not adjustable in any real way
And they could never, ever function as stated.
Ever.
Their refund requires you return it.
I paid $7 for product, and $7 for shipping.
Shipping isn't refunded.
It'd cost me over $25 to return them, for a $7 refund, on a garbage product that neer worked, and COULD never work, anyway
What a waste of money.
At least eBay has some legitimacy backing it up.

Started using Tophatter just a week ago and was surprised at what I had bid on and won by the end of the week The bidding keeps you on your toes and you might want to set a top limit to bid on to keep from riding the escalator to higher prices. The bidding is very fast, not like brand "x" so stay sharp.

I only gave your ratings a 3 and Ill tell you why, a lot of the products I have received Im really happy with but the return policy is not good at all. Upon trying to return an item that was damaged in shipping you told me I would get free shipping back, well I would get a $16.00 credit for the cost of shipping but to ship it back for me is $65.00 by boat and $101.00 by air. By boat thats more than doubled what I paid for the item with the shipping. So needless to say Im not going to ship it back. I sent the photos of the damaged item and I believe that a new one should be shipped out to me at no cost. If this cant be done than I will terminate my service with you.

Found a variety of items on Tophatter. There is something to please everyone. Service has been very good. Some items I do not bid on because of, what I feel, are excessive shipping charges. Many times you pay more for shipping than the cost of the item.

Tophatter backs fake junk, they will NOT return your money. I returned my fake item to seller with confirmation still did not get my money back. Tophatter let seller have my money AND the junk they sell. Tophatter is a very bad site, i agree with alot of theses other reviews... you can get better stuff at the dollar store a lot cheaper.

When I bid on a jewelry set that was advertised as sterling silver and turquoise that is what I expected to receive. When the set arrived my disappointment was very real! It is neither sterling silver or turquoise. The earrings were also advertised as being feather shaped and they are not. I have not had this kind of experience in the past but now I no longer trust what the sellers say their product is. I live too far away from a post office to send it back with any ease so I will just junk it. The invoice number was #*******.

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
