Ive ordered 18 items, 10 have arrived. The shower speaker is great, Im unable to sync either of the smart phones! Paw pal stuffed dog is felt not plush, I ordered 2 sets of earrings, only received on, and the post is 1.5cm in length, too long to wear. Italian 18k 3.5 stone ring arrived with stones missing, backpack seams are not sewn, night scope is plastic light does not work, pink smart phone wallet is beige not pink, the mini drones are a birthday gift, but I will have them tested before giving them, silicone baking mat, melted in the oven set off fire alarms.

I have bought quite a few things from Tophatter. Some have blown my expectations away with awesome items. Some have been ok. I did receive a damaged item once in the mail and was not happy with the quality of the item and TOPHATTER REFUNDED ME MY ENTIRE OUT OF POCKEY THE VERY SAME DAY... Awesome customer service.

I've liked about half of the items I received... I've received three watches...
All three have failed... the first in about an hour of use... The second in about two days... the third didn't work out of the box... I did not return them because the postage to china is more than I paid for them...
The items that worked and most of the jewelry has been great... I did order a pair of dangling ear rings and the wrong type was sent. Again not worth returning. I had ordered a body massager/stimulator that had 8 pads for 4 different positions... after many weeks the order was canceled and my money was refunded?
Overall the experience has been satisfactory because the items have been won on the auction at a very low price... at this point I wouldn't bid very high until these discrepancy's stop. I don't like it when the shipping cost rises after the auction is under way... this is sneaky... These are the reasons I rated the service three stars...

Tophatter will always process refunds for buyers upon receiving a valid tracking number from them indicating that the order has been returned to the seller. Tophatter offers Buyer Protection in the form of a 30-day Easy Return policy that will either: 1.) refund the buyer without return needed, 2.) provide the buyer with a prepaid return label, or 3.) present the buyer with the seller’s address to return the item, paying for their own return postage with valid tracking number.
On our platform, refunds or prepaid return labels are provided to U.S.-based buyers until the buyer hits a threshold for free returns. For internationally located buyers, we provide some store credit to offset the cost of returning the item at their own expense until the buyer hits the threshold.
The acceptable return threshold is continuously calculated as a percentage of the buyer's total purchases. Once this threshold has been met, the cost of returning the item to the seller with tracking will be at the buyer’s expense. When this happens, it is explained in the email buyers receive when they request a return, that they are responsible for the return shipping cost, and the buyer is provided with the seller’s return address to facilitate the successful return of the order.

I found Tophatter about a week ago and have purchased 37 items with only two that had to be returned because of damage in shipping on one that was not like pictured. Both were refunded immediately! What an awesome site!

I did not receive batteries with my muscle stimulation machine and have not been able to find the type it requires. I notified Tophatter when they asked me to rate the item but had no response. Also one jewelry set was not the quality I expected. I have been very happy with my other purchases.

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
