Sounds like the company has issues and your customers are unreasonable to the company. Daring your customers to be unreasonable and that is the customer you want is drawing attention to service problems.
We have had services issues even after technicians spending 3 hours at our house trying to figure out why we have sound with no picture and vice versa, spooling screens and voices that do not match up with the person speaking.
Made a phone call to reset the email address. Once we had the email service reset on their end, told the guy what I really wanted was to fix my dropping service. He viewed their record, told me the signal was weak, set up an appointment with a service tech only a day later. Service tech was here & spent a good amount of time running down the problem with the weak signal. Seems ok now, we'll see. Disappointed that in the last 24 hrs, got six robo-calls reminding me of the appointment.
My internet service worked well for years, but in the past months is dropping more & more frequently. Tech support phone guy took forever to even understand the problem I was telling him about (Kept recommending changing my WiFi settings when the problem was uplink connectivity), then insisted their system was showing nothing wrong with the connection (a lie, I am quite sure). Insisted that because I owned my own modem, that they could not and would not be able to help me at all (a lie, I am quite sure). Trying to get help through the website, came to a point I had to verify my Spectrum/TWC email address. It didn't know my old password, took forever to do a reset password, then would not let me log in with the new password. I've forgotten what it was I needed their captive email address for. Hours spent, no progress.
Zero stars... my service was interrupted I called at 7:19pm a representative gave me a certain amount to reinstate my service. Then called back spoke to a different representative to make the payment of the amount she quoted. The representative did not honor what the previous one said. I asked to speak to a manager and she gave the worst customer service did not help at all. I asked them to hear their phone recordings as they say they monitor them but still did not care. Looking for another company... They rather loose a client than to help. Well May God Bless Them!
Advertised speed 200 actual 65 still good. Modem top speed 120. Once and a while I get 105. If it gets cut anywhere it doesn't work. Pole fiber bot cable to the house.
I wanted to turn in my cable box and service before the end of August. Our local Kitty Hawk, OBX Spectrum store is closed on the weekend of 8/24 & 8/25. I turned in my cable box and cancelled my service at the Kitty Hawk, OBX Spectrum store on the morning of 8/26. I asked if I was all closed out and no more billing? The Spectrum rep said oh no you need to pay $235.00 for the month of September (8/26-9/25). I said that is crazy, may I speak to the manager. The rep said she is not available. I said is she here? He said she is out back training a new employee. I said please go get her I'm not leaving without speaking to her. The irritated manager came out and said I will have to pay the final bill before 9/15. She said that Spektrum does not offer pro-rate refunds. I said I'm just one day late and the office was closed the past two days. She said there was nothing she could do and was unwilling or unable to make an escalation call for a waiver of the final bill. When I went home, I called a Spectrum HQ support number and spoke to a person, and they said the boss that could waive the final bill was out of the office and that she would send him an email with my request and reason. It appears that the only thing that happened was the bill went from $235.00 to $227.00. In conclusion, it appears that Charter/Spectrum's only game in town arrogance continues as demonstrated by providing an overpriced marginal product and poor customer service. Thank goodness there is now Ripple fiber.
Fair warning to ALL customers! If you cancel service in the middle of your billing cycle, they will NOT issue a pro-rated refund! Not their policy. I moved from one apartment building to another and told them I was doing that. I was told ALL I had to do was carry the equipment over and plug it in, then call if it's not working. Guess what? It didn't work. The drop was DEAD and they had to send a tech out. Charged me for 30 dollar activation. Like that was MY fault?!?!? I canceled and went with Gfiber. Free month. Free installation. Free equipment. No contract. And only 5 dollars/month more for double the speed. Thank goodness for competition. Not going back.
We phoned these fools at the first of the month to cancel our service effective the end of that same month, and were told that our billing cycle began on the 28th of the month, so they implied that in addition to that month, we had to pay for the whole NEXT month too! Criminals, period, paragraph! By definition, these thieves are "organized crime" that our government allows to exist among us and abuse us.
Spectrum internet services is the worst! Outages from 2 to 5 hours almost daily now! It is frustrating and very unfair. I have no other internet provider in my area and I'm FORCED to have Spectrum. You get a $2 discount for the " trouble" caused but only if the outage is more than 4 hours!' They have affected my kid's school work, my job and our weekends to watch a movie as a family etc! Their lame excuse it's because of the hurricane from July 9th! Say what? It's freakin mid August. I'm tired of it. Stay clear of Spectrum if you have another option, it's no brainer, go with them. SPECTRUM SUCKS!
I experienced interruptions multiple times during the last few months. I was on 500MB plan. The speed was never up to the mark. The price spiked after the initial offer period. Once I found another reliable provider and called to disconnect, they were ready to give it for a fee much lower than my previous amount. It seemed so cheap and unprofessional. They didn't even prorate my amount once they realized that I was going to disconnect for sure. I don't recommend their unreliable services and customer support.
Once Spectrum gets you as a customer, you'll find the Service has outages & billing continues to rise.
Not at all happy with their service & looking to find another Internet Provider.
This company is the WORSE! We have been with Spectrum for years never missed a payment, called to cancel cable and only keep WIFI due to outrageous pricing, apparently I called ONE day after our billing cycle and they are still charging us for service we no longer have and returned the boxes, this company doesn't know good customer service and I'm not even sure how they can illegally charge you for services you don't have any longer! We will be contacting the BBB
People even though you have auto pay and trust spectrum to charge the correct amount, well don't trust them I have been paying for six months and without knowing I was being charged for the bundle; which I had never agreed to. I never noticed it because I trusted them in charging what I had asked for. I called and asked them why was I being charged for something I never agreed to but no one could give a good response only that if I wanted to cancel some of my services. They never offered to credit what they had been over charging so yes they commit theft by deception and practically know it. So people check your statements because they will sneak something in your bill just to see if you notice it and if you don't there goes the theft in progress till they get caught.
Was sold Spectrum by a guy who came to my door. I specifically asked if the Spectrum plan he was selling me had symmetrical upload and download speeds like our current provider. He lied to my face and said yes. 2 months later (now) we find out we were lied to and Spectrum shrugs. I can't leave fast enough.
Bills increase all the time try to speak with customer service no help.if you reading this no get spectrum
The worst decision you can made deal with this people
Spectrum does not deliver fast internet service. With continued outages and my game gadgets not connecting, makes Spectrum a bad internet service provider. Even when we purchased the high speed service. Stay away from them. Stick with At&t.
Think twice before signing up for Spectrum. The lack of customer service, empathy, and knowledge of product is on full display as they talk to you. From the CSR to the supervisors their either irresponsible or ignorant or both. Either way its something that customers should not have to deal with. There business model is simple, charge the customer before they get service, even if there are outages your still charged full price. Then to top it off, screw them over when you try and transfer service to new location. (See above why irresponsible or ignorant) There employees and supervisors have no common sense to understand the reason why you transfer service. Maybe its because you no longer live there-duh? However, they still charged me like I was there because my service never got canceled until I was billed for a new month. I could not get them to understand and they billed me for an extra month even when I wasn't even in the state. Ridiculous! Spectrum didn't take responsibility (of course) or could even comprehend this but I guess I didn't expect them to. I guess Spectrum business model is to blame the customers for everything, charge them for everything so the customer get so mad that they will never use there service again.
Unfortunately Spectrum is the only full-service cable company in my area. For the past several months poor TV cable reception, tv always buffering or freezing. Very slow internet and Poor WiFi connectivity. Paying high monthly payments and Spectrum refused to credit my account in any way, due to lack of reporting in my part, even thou the service technician (awesome guy) found water and rusted cable from street pole to the property all connectors at the box rusted too. (Photo). His findings should be sufficient as evidence of the poor service caused by the old equipment. The billing department was uncooperative and not concern.
An installer was in my home to upgrade my service from residential to business. He showed up with no identification, and had called ahead with his personal cell to ask me to tell Spectrum he was on site if they checked despite him being late for the appointment and not yet at my house. While here for the second of his 2 visits that day, he stated he had "never met a woman who did not like being tied up", and if consensual, most women "don't mind being slapped around." The corporate response was insensitive.
Longer your a great customer the more they dig their hands in your pockets and bend you over. Valued customer is what they call us. Get new customers trap them in for 1 year with ideal pricing. Wait till year 2 when there's no promotions and you can't change anything because you have a phone plan. Can't cancel internet unless you want to pay an extra 20 bucks per line. Used to be 50 bucks. Now I'm paying 120 for internet and what they call basic cable. Don't enter trap!
Was trying to teach my 19 year old son some simple life skills by signing up for Spectrum internet only. They bait and switched to add Spectrum voice. Between the change of address and the USPS being slow as sh*#, we didn't know that they added Spectrum Voice services to the account within the 30 day money back guarantee period. So to correct this, we were transferred 9 times and spent 1 hour and 42 minutes on the phone. They
still tried to refuse a credit to the account!
Answer: They do not care about customer retention. That being said. I have to believe it is the poorest business model I have ever come in contact with.
Answer: They could give a shit - they create a monopoly in the area and do whatever they want - raise the rate, intimidate, and are very rude and no help to customers!
Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
Spectrum has a rating of 1.1 stars from 1,943 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Spectrum most frequently mention customer service, billing cycle and cable box. Spectrum ranks 53rd among Cable Television sites.
