I buy from Neiman Marcus online, because even with a gift card, I am treated like dirt in their stores. The sales folks look down their nose at you if you ask where the sale items are. Enough!
So, I buy online and get regular "flash sale" notices. Recently, I purchased a $285 top on sale for $49. Nearly 12 hours later, I was informed my order was canceled as the top was out-of-stock in my size. This was a 24 hour sale with little time remaining. I had ordered a size large as I am between medium and large. Now, I was told they had none. It took them nearly 12 hours to determine that.
I jumped on my computer as the sale was nearly over. The medium was available, so I took a risk and ordered it. I always try to order what I plan to keep and wear and that works more than 95% of the time. A mere 90 minutes or so later, when the flash sales extra 25% off had expired, Neiman Marcus had the top available once again in large. This was close to midnight and they had more than just one large. Funny thing about these tops however--no extra discount.
So, this seems to suggest that my order was canceled because it had the extra discount. As I was now free to order it at a higher price. This is not the first time Neiman Marcus has done this. Because of the random order cancelation, I was sent a 10% off coupon that can only be used on one full priced item and has an expiration date. Whoopee! I think this smells a bit like bait and switch to me. Customer service, once they finally talked to me, could not explain the cancelation of my original order. Who could?

I bought some shoes through Neiman Marcus about 2 months ago. The package never arrived to my house but apparently according to UPS the package was delivered and signed by the driver under the name COVID. There's was instructions of signature required. Neiman Marcus won't give me my money back because ironically they're taking the driver's signature as my signature and due there's a signature involved, they won't give me the refund. I contacted them plenty times and they still say, if there was not a signature involved we would give you the refund. I cannot believe Neiman Marcus is taking someone's signature as mine. I used to buy, constantly, at this Store. However, the customer service is simply bad, incompetent and not helpful at all. I lost about $1500. DO NOT BUY FROM NEIMANMARCUS.COM, DO NOT TRUST THEM. THEY'D SEND YOU TO THE POLICE AND GO COMPLAIN THERE. SIMPLY RUDE.
I prefer the service at Neiman Marcus to Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's. Maybe not quite as good at Barney's but still Neiman Marcus will always have a special place in my heart.
This is the worst high end department store ever! If you want high end with great prices and good customer service don't shop at Neiman Marcus! Shop at Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and even Barneys New York they are all GREAT! Neiman Marcus and Bergdorfs are HORRIBLE. Their shipping is slow and if you want to sign for it they send it ground so you don't know when they are coming to deliver instead of sending a different way so that you have a time frame window as to when they will deliver it. Most importantly the same merchandise that you can find at Neiman Marcus I have found days later at other stores for 30% less! This is really a EXPENSIVE, NEEDLESS MARKUP STORE WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. The last time I went into the store I noticed a lot of women with Poor Taste and a lot of money to spend but money can not buy you GOOD TASTE AND CLASS!
I odered an expensive clutch on 10/26/21. I received a confirmation of the order at the time it was placed. On 11/2/2022 I received a notification email from NM stating that package had shipped. It included a FedEx tracking number. When I click the tracking link it took me directly into the FedEx tracking site. I receive the message: "No record of this tracking number can be found at this time, please check the number and try again later."
How is this possible for the package to have shipped out yet the tracking number does not show up in the FedEx system?
I called Nm and reported the issue and I was told it was delivered. I said how is this possible? I can't even track the package because NM sent me invalid tracking number. I went to the post office to check, the package is not shipped also post office customer service informed me to contact the shopper because the tracking number is invalid.
After several calls. NM opened a claim said it will be resolved but it never did.

We had a request to ask of customer service that we knew could not be done by the person answering the phone so we asked for a supervisor. Having been a major customer for decades, we expected the supervisor to listen to the request and to see what they could do. Instead, a totally officious supervisor named Cesar got on the phone and without even hearing what we hoped he could do, he immediately lectured and scolded us on his procedure and could not have been ruder. So we finally got the name of the true supervisor -- Kaitlin -- and our main goal was to complain about how completely rude Cesar was and how uncaring customer service has been. I have tried to 2 weeks to reach Kaitlin and held on the line a total now of more than 2 hours. But they keep putting Cesar's friends and colleagues on the phone and insisting Kaitlin is busy but we can speak to Cynthia Ralston or Omikari or Melissa or Cesar -- all just his friends. When we insist on speaking to the actual boss, they try to leave you on hold and then finally say she will call back but no one calls back. Totally rude, incompetent, and protecting their rude friend.
Whoever runs the customer service at Neiman's should probably clean house, from Kaitlin, Cynthia and of course Cesar
If I could give them 0 stars I would. I wish I had read all of these reviews before I ordered. This was my very first experience with Neiman Marcus. I thought Neiman Marcus was a high end, reputable business & I was sadly mistaken. I ordered multiple dresses for an event NEXT YEAR & returned them all. They never left my house. One of the dresses was NEVER tried on and was returned in its original packaging. Neiman Marcus accepted the return and then wouldn't refund my money. They never contacted me. When I called them, they said the dress was worn, damaged, and unsaleable. I know with 100% certainty I returned it in the same condition I received it and it was never worn or damaged. I asked for details and pictures because I was stunned. I asked for it to be escalated and someone to call me. Neither happened. Instead, they tried to send the dress back to ME! I refused delivery and I contacted them again, and I got the same run around. They refused to allow me to talk to a manager. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Whatever happened to that dress, if anything, did not happen while it was in my possession. They need to check with their own warehouse team or talk to USPS, the carrier. Today, that dress came back to me AGAIN, repackaged in a new box. I again refused delivery and have reported Neiman Marcus to the Better Business Bureau. They have stolen $430 from me. All I want is my money back.
This review is for the customer service I just received from an online supervisor with the 800 customer service number. I placed two separate orders, one on Nov 23 for one item and one on Nov 25 for two separate items. Today is Dec 6 and I just received one of the items from the Nov 25 order. The other item from the Nov 25 order shows "in process" and the item from the Nov 23 order shows "in process." I called to find out what is happening with the orders and the customer service agent couldn't offer any information, so I asked for a supervisor, who also couldn't offer any info other than "we are experiencing delays." One of the items says right on my order that it is shipping from Orlando, so I called the Orlando store and they have the item in stock, but this supervisor says it cannot ship from the store and has to ship from the warehouse in my state, Florida, and she cannot promise when it will ship or when I will receive it. I the asked to cancel both items, which she advised that she would send an email requesting to cancel, but couldn't promise the orders would be canceled, either, which both have been charged to my card. So I am paying for orders that I may never receive, or I may receive at some point, but who knows when? The company selling the items can't tell me, but they won't cancel the orders and I have to pay for them?
Neiman Marcus used to be a wonderful store that sold the best merchandise in a way that made you feel special, now Walmart's customer service treats you better.

Where do i start? I mean I've never had such a bad experience with any other company... First off I ordered a pair of sneakers from that so called Horrible company on the 23rd of November and it's about to be December 7th... WTF I mean it started off ok it shipped and before you know it instead of shipping it straight FedEx to my house they decided to drop my package off to who knows where I believe the Post office and No new information since the 28th smh... So I've been calling them everyday and some foreign guy who barely speaks English says I'm calling toooo much... they are on the case you've called before I told him I can call as many times as I want Hell it's my money... he acts like it's his company with his menial job... Try Doing Your Job... Never again Neiman marcus... how do you FU#% UP so bad SMDH
Neiman Marcus customer service is horrible for online! My first order I never received it even though it said delivered. So I called them the filed a claim told me it would take 3 days. Took way longer than that and for them to tell me they couldn't refund me. Because the carrier took of picture of the item in front of my house. Ok how do you guys know that was my home? I wouldn't lie just to get a refund if I got the item. Or maybe someone took it but I was not about to let you all have $230 of my money for an item I didn't have. I had to file a complaint to get it back. My second order that I ordered right after that one that came a couple of days later. Was defected and was leaking everywhere. To the point we had to throw it away well neiman marcus said the only way I would get a refund. Is if I let FedEx pick up the item and send them a picture. The stuff was leaking everywhere I wasn't keeping that. And the nearest neiman marcus to me is over an hour away. Like you guys are a joke I will never shop with you all again!
I bought Louboutin shoes for my fiancé, paid extra for over night shipping. The shoes never arrived I had to call to check on my order to find out that the order had been canceled and never was I even notified and then found out the reason was even more ridiculous. The store "claims" if you are a first time customer they have to audit your account first before shipping which might take a few days. So then why was there no issue collecting the extra money for the over night shipping then?! After wards spoke an additional 3 times to reps who confirmed the order was replaced and on its way. Checked again each time and found out it was never sent. Then I thought I have no choice than speaking to a manager I'm sure they can settle this mess. I was %100 wrong. Spoke to RICHWN. R who was useless. Not only did she not sound interested at all in my issue.it almost seemed normal for her as if I was the ******* customer to call for the same issue. She in her exact words said " I can only write a note to have your order shipped for tomorrow " which is exactly what the other 5 reps told me. I initially bought these shoes for an occasion for my fiancé. Not only did they ruin that but they ruined my experience for ever buying a pair of socks from this store. For the amount of money I paid and the hassle I had to go through I will def not be returning. I think you have a better chance placing an order from China! Stay away and save your money and time.
Racist! The costumer service very poor they didn't even greet us in the white plains area. Never offered me water and when I went into the dressing room she left for someone else! They look at me with the most nastiest look and one of them look like a wanna be Kardashian a scare crow! I am a teacher and I make decent money I wanted to treat myself but I would never think I would experience this SHUT THEM DOWN VERY RACIST they shouldn't even get a rating! Found the perfect gown at Neiman Marcus for my daughtef's wedding thks coming 1st week of November. The gown needs alteration amd the saleslady recommended their Alteration Manager to do the work. She said she is very good and called her. The Alteration Manager said its easy work and that she can do it. After a week she called me to come for measurement. It's an hour away without traffic from where I lived, so I drove on the day she told me. When I got there, she said she cannot accomodate me and to come back the next day. So we're already talking of 4 hours drive round trip for 2 consecutive days. After 2 weeks, they called me to do the fitting. I got in the store with my daughter and they brought me the gown. When I tried it, they cut the hem way to short that even I wear flat shoes, it's still short. In addition, beads ard missing, waistline crooked. In short, the gown is beyond repair. I cannot even find a replacement. The aggravation, anxiety and frustration is so bad.
They offered refund but I think they could have done better with all the stressed we've gone through
NM is a great place to shop with great brands, sales that are reasonable and usually very helpful customer service personnel. When inquiring as to where an order is at that was placed 14 days ago, the agent I encountered tonight blatantly lied and caused a lost customer. I get it, no one cares about the 1 person that doesnt spend thousands and thousands each year. But to outright lie and try to blame FedEx, that was a new low. I don't mind being told it was late being shipped, but the agent said
"Thanks for your patience, the last order I see to be deliver Is the Peter Millar Men's Dunbritton Summer Cotton Sport Shirt, they are at the moment on the Fedex truck on their way to your home. The max arrival date on this item Is for January 16th 2023. I will advice to wait this time frame since the shipping service Fedex are in high season are they are taking a more time to deliver the orders."
I placed an order for 5 shirts. 4 were received January 6th (with 2-day shipping service I requested). The 5th just shipped today and the rep blamed FedEx. Rest of transcript is here:
