The company has garnered a mixed reputation among customers, with notable strengths in its engaging auction format and a diverse range of products that some users find enjoyable and affordable. Many appreciate the responsive customer service, which has been effective in addressing issues and facilitating refunds. However, significant concerns persist regarding product quality, with numerous complaints about receiving damaged or inferior items. Additionally, customers have reported frustrations with order cancellations and difficulties in the returns process. Overall, while the platform offers a fun shopping experience, it must improve product reliability and support to enhance customer satisfaction.

Most of the things I have ordered have been very late or refunded with no explanation. If I had not wanted them I would not have ordered them. Some of them say they have been delivered and when I look to see where they are at they are in another state that has an address nothing like mine. So needless to say I never got them.
I just started using this site and got hooked i ordered a lot well so far I have received a couple items super fast shipping and the items I expected well I won some super good deals on some clothes they were all cancelled anything i stayed on here for hours to win was refunded because it was out of stock how are you going to put it up to bid on if you dont have it and pay attention to the size and description Ive received a dog bed the size of a baby blanket lol
There are TOO MANY CANCELLED ORDERS with CREDIT REFUNDS, LATE DELIVERIES, NO DELIVERIES/LOST IN SHIPMENTS, and VERY SLOW (sometimes none) CUSTOMER SUPPORT. This especially happens on very good auction (low bid) "wins". Sellers would just CANCEL ORDER due to "Out of Stock" reason, but the items (from the SAME SELLER) would still be available to bid on on the auction site. I have reported this many times to Tophatter Customer Support who say "stiff penalties are in place to deal with these sellers" but these sellers are still there! To add to this, deliveries are VERY SLOW. Sometimes, 2 to 3 MONTHS after the order. Then to top it off, items are not what you expect. Most times, items are smaller than the pictures; or worse, WRONG ITEMS was sent or MISSING PARTS. TOPHATTER NEEDS TO BETTER IN SCREENING THEIR SELLERS AND IMPLEMENT TOUGHER PENALTIES.
I have had to many things refunded that i really wanted without a explanation as to why... then i have gotton something that i paid alot of money for that should have been only a fricken 1$ not want it shown in the pic and it took FOREVER TO GET HERE... only sometimes a very few times do i every get what i order this last time i got my order fast and they were nicer than i thought they would be
The 1st item I ordered on September 21st and have still not received it! Most of the things I've ordered just take too long to get here?
For a message from you about where my packages are. I have been waiting since 10/18 and 11/7 for my orders. I messaged you several days ago but no reply yet.
I started ordering in November with Tophatter. So far 3 out 5 items I ordered came in wrong. The items that are advertised are not what is being sent. The items you do receive are very cheaply made. Horrible all around
This site is a good site to do business with to buy things that you need. I would recommend this site to anyone who has a need for things at a cheaper price than what the stores offer.
I have received merchandise that was not what I purchased and slow or no response to correct and found some extra charges on my credit card
I haven't received enough items to be satisfied and I've had 3 bids refunded with no explanation as to why. Pages load too slowly. Feel I have missed out on some good bids because of this.
Order item in September 2020 and delivery expected Nov12/20, today 11/29/20 and no delivery made
Asked for refund, and no reply regarding the refund instead keeps asking for edit because it is delayed and was replied saying to wait 3 more days since Nov 12, if not received then full refund as promised in website
But nothing refunded and no reply as to what they are doing to this issue
I had to call PayPal and my credit card to get refund
Waiting for card to get me my refund
Seems they don't want to give refund if you don't get delivery
It looks like a scam it does not want to refund and keep the money
You have a 50/50 chance of receiving your purchases. If you don't, they are great about refunding promptly, but only do it in credits that you have to spend on more of their purchases (which you have a 50/50 chance of receiving.)
I don't really have a problem with Tophatter. They periodically give bidding incentives, (disguised as rewards), and seem to back up the buyer in the event of an issue with a seller or a product. I do however have a problem with some of the sellers or their products. BUYER BEWARE... Some sellers will award an item with no reserve and a very low winning bid, only to send an email a few days later informing that you have been refunded. The reason given is that the item is damaged, defective, or in short supply. When you see that very same item continuously being offered by the very same seller, you know very well the real reason they pulled back their product is because the bid wasn't high enough. So far, that has happened to me three times. I guess I was mistakenly under the impression that a winning bid is like a contract between a buyer and seller and should be honored. Also buyers, do your homework so you know what an item is worth. Sometimes the very same item you're bidding on can be found on Amazon for an outright lower price. One last thing... Don't get your expectations up regarding product quality. With only a few exceptions, product quality has been a disappointment. As an example, I will no longer bid on optical items. Our landfills are already too full.
Some of the products are awesome! But the majority of the products are small and not as they appear. But I guess thats how it is for any store really. But most have a disclosure that items are smaller than they appear. Top hatter does not, but they do offer a money back guarantee and have a return policy. So I give it 2-1/2 stars
Will be used again and again just hope the corona virus is not still be making such big news! Makes shipping slower because the company just doesn't know.
I'VE BEEN ON T. H. FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND OUT OF THE 35 wins and only received 6 and 4 returns because deceptive advertising. So I will collect the rest of my orders and come back to review my review.
I am very happy with the things I have bought. I was able to get Christmas started early this year, which I love.
Ive been shipped items of inferior quality or not as pictured or as described. I haven t received 1 item i could have gotten for less at the. 99 cent store. Then i was over charged on a bid which was 12. Dollars but charged $50. Two times for a tablet both arent worth a dollar plugged the first one in and the charging inlet was missing a tab its useless junk.
My experience with TopHatter has been great. They have helped along the way when I asked questions when I accidentally hit the bet button(I don't do it often, but it has happened). For the most part, the items I have purchased have been what I thought they would be. On a rare occasion, an item arrived broken. They took care of it without delay.
I absolutely love tophatter shipping seems to be coming along pretty quickly so far with all that I've purchased. I only have a few complaints in one of my orders I only received one price for my purchase and I have never received all the accessories that I was supposed to get to begin with. My next issue is the whole if you cancel to many orders you can not bid for 24 hours that's just ridiculous my option. And lastly I think it's crazy how you can not bid if the menu has a number over it but it don't tell you if it's reward or message or what
Answer: There is also the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION that can help with these types of problems
Answer: You have to read the descriptions. It will tell you if it's real or plated.
Answer: Do not deal with this company,,, all jewelery is crap n cheap
Answer: Tophatter will screw you over. Shop Amazon or overstock.
Answer: Good luck! Tophatter rippes off the sellers so they are not going to be very likely to return your money.
Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
Answer: Yes! Sale of counterfeit items is prohibited. If you are concerned about the authenticity of an item purchased on the platform, you may return it for up to 30 days from delivery. See full details on our return policy here: http://tinyurl.com/h7xokwj.
