I've order quite a few things in a small timeframe and two have been refunded without my knowledge ir approval. These credits have been given as Tophatter refunds and I choose to have them returned to my card I used to purchase items. If I had been notified I could have told you such. The first item was the vendor, but the second item was a Tophatter refund with no explanation given. Not of to a good start with me and purchases. I will say items I have received have been great, hence the 3 stars.
Prices are great, but the shipping is the worst, when the date l was given for delivery pass l was told it could take another 30 days, the tracking information is not correct,

All my items keep changing delivery dates! Or just don't show up! First three items were early or right on time, now NONE are coming and all later than ORIGINAL delivery date! If knew going to be over a MONTH to deliver wouldn't have even bought them! And tracking them has come to a complete standstill since APRIL.?
I like what I've gotten so far. I'm a little sad when I see some of the same things at wal-mart.

I was happy with the prices but after paying them they are coming from China it takes two or three months before receiving the items orderes. Is there any United States vendors
I started ordering stuff early last month. Thought by now I would have received more than three items. Some of the stuff I've ordered. The date that they gave me. It's already passed and still nothing. So I really don't know what's going on
Everything that I ordered in March was supposed to be here at the end of April... I have only received three items out of 9 or 10 things I am not a happy camper

I don't like the 60 day item refund at all. Some of the items I never recieved at all on top of that Tophatter refuses to give me my refund because I never recieved some of my purchases.

I bid on a herringbone necklace and I won with a $10.00 bid. This was the first time I had tried Top Hatter so I really wasn't expecting much of a necklace for $10.00. But I was very pleasantly surprised when my package came in. The necklace is very pretty and appears to be very good quality. I will be using Top Hatter again!

There are some very legitimate companies selling on this site and delivery is timely no matter what price you got the item for. There are some questionable vendors that take 6 to 8 weeks to deliver items, if you ever receive them. With theses vendors it seems the better the deal you get, the longer and less likely you are to receive what you paid for. Tophatter charges your card when you win the bid, rather than when the product ships. Even then, the Questionable vendors Say the product has shipped, but if you look at the tracking pattern it appears to just be going through various sorting and shipping departments within the company. Tracking keeps saying USPS waiting to receive. At first I thought it was just with shipments from China, but at least one California company does the same thing. One company selling solar path lights (never received) disappeared, but the lights are still being sold on Tophatter by another unknown company. Can't find them on the internet or anywhere. The pictures do not always show the quality of the product you eventually receive. You need to look at the product details before bidding. Many show the product with batteries, charging cable or other accessories that are not included. Others don't come with Memory, SIM cards or other similar items needed for the product to function as intended. You can get an unpleasant surprise when you receive some products, especially Jewelry. The picture shows jewelry store quality pieces, when what you received is cheap, not even good, costume Jewelry. Some of it is advertised as genuine sapphire, emerald, tanzanite, etc. but no certificate of authenticity comes with these, nor is one provided when asked. Depending on what you paid for the piece, I recommend you take it to a gemologist and have it verified. Tophatter's policies are also an issue with me. They will send return labels, until you start to return too many things, then they tell you shipping is your responsibility. The other issue is product ratings. Some items don't show anything for product ratings and some show low ratings, but they only publish the ones with four stars or above. The problem, for new bidders especially, is that it takes so long to get an order, you have most likely purchased several similar items thinking you are getting a good deal. I recommend waiting for the product to be delivered before bidding on too many things. As I said at the beginning of this review, there are a few very reputable vendors selling on this site, just know what you are bidding on before you pay.

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
