I am enjoying the 'hunter-gatherer" experience of shopping at Tophatter through bidding. However, it would not be as enjoyable without Tophatter's fair and rapid customer service department.

Tophatter is fun, no doubt. The gamble is, some of the items are really low quality, some are more than expected. Still, even the low quality stuff is good, if you get it for the right price.

My greatest concern is that bidding on an item and receiving it 2-3 months later, takes away form the bidding experience. I definitely will factor in my need vs. want of an item if I have to wait for something coming from, let's say China. Would like to know where the item is being shipped from before opting to bid on it...

I saw the app and when I opened it I saw some real nice things. So I ordered stuff i wanted, the first item was was nice, so my trust went up with Tophatter. Then I saw a pop up tent i wanted, i got it for $70 and was happy to pay. I got an email saying it would come before mothers day and i wanted to use it for mothers day so I thought it was perfect. The tent never came, no one saw it come and when reviewing the cameras I did not see anything. Because it says it got delivered I'm out of luck with no refund. Then I ordered a sonic toothbrush, and when I got that it was not the one I ordered and it had nothing inside to move the brush around. Faulty fake dummy toothbrush. When I looked at the toothbrushes the one i got was selling for 1 dollar i payed way more than that. I feel like the stuff I'm getting is what ever they have on hand and does not fit the description they give.

Takes awhile to get stuff cant go by delivery date, lot of scandalous products and vendors, atleast you refund on the scandalous products, your time frame for sending stuff back seems like a scam, you can take upto who knows how long to recieve stuff but got a 10 day limit to send it back, bad business in my opinion lessons learned

You can also use the browse/search option once you have purchased your first item via bidding. To find specific items by going to Menu then browse, click on the magnifying glass in the upper right. I have ordered alot of stuff with tophatter and only a few things that I have ordered I have received. Alot of stuff has been in transit like forever.
It is sooooo easy to shop on this site. I am new shopping here. I only received 2 things I ordered so far- so it is still early. But I am getting excited and impatient to get the other items I ordered.
It can be addictive but fun. Only one thing is sad is some products seems to take time in getting them. But love the products

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
