My one problem is that the two emails of the reservations I made (the two rooms), won't print out for me. Would it be possible to send the two reservations to me in a different form? After some difficulty with their customer service getaroom was able to make things right for my stay. I was on the phone with them for quite a while, but they were able to refund some charges to ensure a good experience. Thank you.
My rental was listed on several other booking sites. However, I got my booing for $200 cheaper by booking with Getaroom. I pray that this is legit bc my trip isn't until 1 month from now. If this is legit, I highly recommend.

I want to thank getaroom.com's customer care department, specifically Carrie for handling my situation with a booking at a hotel that didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. They corrected the situation and made everything perfect and I truly appreciate it!
Charges you more than going straight to the hotel to book! Not a good deal at all! Their site makes you think you are booking on the Hilton site, so triple check! Also, when I arrived at the hotel, they had not received my payment from get a room, so I had to pay the hotel again until it was worked out.

May appear the cheapest when you do a search for a specific hotel/date, but always check prices include the VAT - not an issue for businesses who can reclaim the taxes but in the UK, we are used to consumer prices being quoted as including 20% VAT. There may also be a "service charge" bumping the costs for the privilege of routing your money via the US. Having said that, Getaroom customer services were very responsive when we complained so that brings the rating back up

Booked a room in Oregon as I was moving from CA on Nov. 1st.
My car was stolen in CA and It was going to be another full day before I got a rental to make the trip north. I called get a room and explained to them my situation and was immediately told "there's nothing we can do for you since the 48 hour cancellation period had passed" (I had booked the reservation October 22. I asked for a supervisor and was told no one was on duty. My feeling is: they could care LESS about people and more about keeping my money. I would NEVER recommend GAR to anyone! They kept my money without a single care. If I could choose minus 10, it would still be too favorable for their $#*!ty service.
I called the number on a website that portrayed itself as the Holiday Inn booking site. The person I spoke to, and booked with, also portrayed himself as being with Holiday Inn. Three days before check-in, I needed to change from 2 nights to 1. I was told that my "Free Cancellation" would cost me $182 in penalties. The original booking could not be amended. A "new" reservation for 1 night, along with the penalty would cost the exact same as the 2 nights.
I did end up cancelling and rebooking direct with the hotel. At that point I learned that the 2 bedroom suite was actually 1 bedroom and a pull out sofa bed.
I'll take this up with my credit card company, but I don't expect much.
In the long run, I'm saving about $50 overall and learned something about making hotel reservations. Be very careful who you make reservations with!
We got a great deal on a hotel through this site, we are excited to get to our vacation date. Hopefully its as great as it seemed :) the process was easy and also had to make a call to customer service and they were very helpful as well.
The room was relatively inexpensive and had a high rating. It was definitely not the lap of luxury, but was very well cleaned and offered a nice place to rest. The breakfast just that. Coffee, tea and other miscellaneous quick snack type foods. Did not use the pool because I didnt have time. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.
The person who took my call had a thick accent, I simply could not understand. I asked to speak directly to the hotel and she would not put me through. I asked three times. She did however get me about 50$ off the advertised price of the room.

While booking a room directly on the Hilton site, I was redirect to an identical looking site with identical prices. I didn't notice the hijack and entered my card information and confirmed. When I got the receipt, there was a surcharge of $101. Yes the site refunded my money after I contacted the credit card company but a few days later I had to cancel my card because of a fraudulent charge to another site. Did they steal my card information? You decide. And watch out for the hijack and the surcharge. Don't do it.
I asked to be booked at the Shilo Inn in Ocean Shores. Getaroom told me that Shilo was fully booked but they could put me in a different hotel. The next day when i arrived at that hotel I found it to be inferior and more expensive. I drove to the Shilo Inn to see if they had any available rooms to which Shilo replied that they were almost completely open. So I spent 58 minutes on a 3 way call with getaroom and my credit card company trying to get a refund. They told me they would refund my money, so I went and booked at Shilo. This all took place 1 1/2 months ago, and I'm still waiting for my refund!

The Hotel was great beautiful right on the water. The rooms were spacious with balconies overlooking the river. The only complaint was when I called to confirm my reservation at the hotel they did not show the rooms in their system so I spent an hour on the phone between customer service at GetARoom and the hotel. It all worked out and my stay was great.
My complaint is very similar to many made before me. I thought I was on the hotels actual website, not one trying to look like it. There is even a number shown that looks like a UK landline number but is a US number. The tax and service fees are not mentioned at all and are very misleading. Cancellation means you lose the rooms and any money paid - surely this is illegal? At no point during cancellation are you told that you will not get any amount of refund. Is this even legal? Trying to contact anyone is impossible. An automated phone line is of no use whatsoever. I also had the same problem as another customer - the reference number is repeated back to you incorrectly. Is this a premium number and therefore a total scam? This company are appalling, do not use them.

My suggestion is that NO one ever use this site. I booked a room through them on July 11,2016 for 2 nights at Best Western Plus Riverhouse Hotel, was quoted a price of $262.20 and given a confirmation number. When I received my credit card statement I was over charged $100.00. I filed a dispute and was credited my $100.00 only to have it taken out of my account on September 23,2016. This is a very dishonest company BEWARE! Another thing I wish to make a note of is that I was never able to reach anyone in person to discuss this situation and I never received an email with the information they provided to my credit card company.

I am positive I booked my room through the Omni Hotel website and went to cancel my Friday reservation today was informed it was booked through getaroom.com and I would have had to cancel before Monday (5 days before) to get a refund. I asked them to please change my reservation to the next day, Saturday, November 23,2019 so I can watch my son play basketball and they will not. They give me a website to write in to and stated no supervisor was able to help me on the phone.

Booked wrong date, needed to change to one day earlier. They told me I had to first cancel the first one so they could rebook and I would get a credit. This has not happened. Will never use your services again and will make sure to let my friends and family know as well.

I booked and paid online with this company for hotel room but when we got to the hotel they didn't have a room for us and than said nothing to do with them ring the agent which we tried to do, we couldnt get an answer so emailed them who said we could have money back but would take 5 working days there was no apologies no travel expenses and waited 5 days for return of money. So we traveled 3 hours to hotel and 3 hours back to home as everywhere was booked as it was a bank holiday terrible experience.
I had booked a room at a place back in March. I was charged over 55% of the room charge for some Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees. Today, I needed to add another room and checked the pricing. The same charges and fees are now less than 30% of the room charge (same price for the rooms). Back when I made the original reservation, I did not pay attention to the ridiculous fees, but after seeing how they changed so much it makes me question what the heck are these fees for?

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
