Waiting on my refund
August 10, 2021

Despite receiving a confirmation email that said I was guaranteed a room, we ended up travelling to Battle Creek to sleep since the GM at this place was crazy and threw us out.

Despite a response from Karen, I am still left with a bad taste in my mouth from this "company." I will never use this service again and I encourage the same from everyone else.

This is a horrible company. I thought I was booking with The Kimpton Canary directly but ended up at this third party company. I booked and cancelled within 20 minutes after seeing the added fees of over $260 that they did not disclose. I called getaroom.com and they told me that the other hotel does not allow cancellations. They are liars. The hotels site allowed cancellations until 3 days before the reservation. The getaroom representative, told me that She could offer 10% off the fees which I refused and said I would dispute the charge with my credit card. I am out $659 for the room. I was told nothing can be done. This company is a SCAM! Do not ever book with them! I filed a complaint with the BBB and my credit card company. I demand a refund.

Buyer beware
August 2, 2017

This is a fraud company. They bill you but without any booking and without any hotel room. They billed my Australian account and I didn't book anything. I don't use that card to book hotels.
Stay away they are frauds

Your agent that the reservation being considered at SLS Los Vegas was cancellable until Apr. 8 without charge. The confirmation received indicated that the reservation was non-refundable. I made a note when she made the misrepresentation on the phone. When I phoned you another agent said there was nothing she could do except pay me 10% which is your fee to the hotel. Misrepresentations are inexcuseable.

As I see many others thought they were on the hotel website and it was actually a third party. They charged me $150 more for the same room I could book on another site. I never book rooms that are non refundable but this one charged me and they are now saying it is nonrefundable. AVOID at all costs!

Rip off

Should have checked her before booking with getaroom. What a rip off. Thought I was getting a great deal for south beach hotel but when I checked out the price the hotel had was $70 cheaper than getaroom. Buyer beware!

When I originally booked I could not understand anything the person was saying because he had a heavy accent. When you book through them they charge you a cancellation fee. When I called to question they are so rude and when I asked for a supervisor they said no. She put me on hold without telling me and I think she wanted me to hang up. When she got back I told her how rude that was and she continued to do it. When I asked her name she said no and then said Reg which is probably a lie. I will never use them again.

Very easy to follow directions and accessible. Pricing was good, hope the hotel experience will be as good as on line reservations. Hope we really enjoy Helen in Winter and plan to go back in summer time.

Great experience

The staff member was kind, courteous, and professional. I was able to book a room within a few minutes and she made sure everything was correct. Very good experience for me and I highly recommend this service.

I thought I was making reservations through TravelAdvisor when it took me to Getaroom's website to make the reservation. No problem in booking the rooms, but I was surprised to find that they charged my credit card immediately! You need to read the fine print. The reservation was made one month prior to our stay, so maybe that's what makes the difference. There was no problem--we called our hotel directly the night before we were to arrive and they gave us confirmation #'s that our two rooms were booked already. I was initially quite upset when I read the reviews, thinking we had lost our money. I am happy I called the hotel which negated the upsetting reviews I had just read. Thank you Getaroom for not letting me down and for making my hotel reservations!

We had to cancel the reservation (two full days in advance) due to family issues and when I tried to call directly, the line kept hanging up. There was no warning that I was going to lose the entire $166 (I called the hotel and I don't think they're getting anything).

I called customer service and asked if they could at least reinstate the room and they said no, they were not able to do that either. I asked for a supervisor repeatedly and was told there was no supervisor available.

The kicker was that the booking clearly stated there was free cancellation and that was an absolute lie.

Do not under any circumstances use getaroom.com for any bookings.

Between being treated the same by bookings.com and now getaroom.com I will never use an online reservation system again and will call all hotels directly to make a reservation. In the end at least I won't be losing any money.

I had no idea when booking it was with a third party. It appeared as though it was the actual hotels website. Our event decided to cancel so I went to cancel our reservation to be told we are out 331.00! No offer of a partial refund or credit for when the event rescheduled. Worst customer service. Got hung up on twice when I requested Politely I may add for a manager. Third call the manager refused to even answer the phone when I want to wait to actually speak to them unless I give the rep my reservation number. The whole reason I don't give it is because I get hung up on

Total scam and liars
October 5, 2023

I called to book 2 rooms with double beds at the last minute as I was arriving at the train station. I thought I was calling the hotel directly, but I got connected to these scammers. The man said that they had 2 rooms with double beds and took my credit card info and he said "actually, we only have one room with a double bed, so the other one will be a twin." I told him to cancel it because that isn't what I asked for or paid for. I booked another hotel down the street. They charged me for the two rooms and when I called and filed a complaint they basically said "too bad." AMEX is dealing with it.

Thy refuse to refund or price match the actual hotel site they apparently rerouted me from. Filing dispute with my credit card company

Poor service from GetARoom!

I purchased a double queen but were only given a single queen room. My confirmation explicitly stated double queen, which is what I paid for, but the manager stated that GetARoom only paid them form a single queen room. GetARoom and the hotel both just sat there pointing fingers at each other. This is dishonest and close to fraud on your part! I'll never use your system again!

Horrible experience, they did not provide the room that was on the reservation, they overcharged and then flat out lied telling me the cancellation policy was the hotels not theirs! Thankfully I contacted the hotel prior to my trip and the hotel made it right not getaroom.com! Book anywhere else!

JUNK MAIL IS AWFUL
February 28, 2019

I reserved a room and immediately started receiving dozens of junk mail. These are not the type of junk mails that you can "unsubsribe" from, apparently, because they come from suspicious senders so that it can avoid the spam filter. Nasty. Wish I'd of known.
