I asked to be booked at the Shilo Inn in Ocean Shores. Getaroom told me that Shilo was fully booked but they could put me in a different hotel. The next day when i arrived at that hotel I found it to be inferior and more expensive. I drove to the Shilo Inn to see if they had any available rooms to which Shilo replied that they were almost completely open. So I spent 58 minutes on a 3 way call with getaroom and my credit card company trying to get a refund. They told me they would refund my money, so I went and booked at Shilo. This all took place 1 1/2 months ago, and I'm still waiting for my refund!
I thought I was being linked directly to Ibis Hotels when this site came up on my search. I was quoted £95 which was a good rate so I booked it. Suddenly the price shot up by £100 and my card was debited immediately. It was only then I realised I was on an American site, even though the phone no. Was a UK number. This practice should be illegal, the price quoted should be the whole amount being debited. I feel ripped off by this company because their site is deliberately misleading on so many levels. I could have booked this hotel through a UK company with no added fees. Save your money and go through a reputable company!

I was trying to book a room i got booked for 2 different hotels for the same day they would not cancel one because I policy they then reserved transaction and took the transaction again. I am out 176.28 of my hard earned money. This site charges 60 extra dollars to use their site. You can just call the call the hotel directly to book a room and avoid this site all together. I will never use another booking site ever again because of this mess. Sorry Expedia, Booking.com etc. This site is absolutely useless.

We thought we were dealing directly with the hotel and booked 3 rooms. They charged 60% tax and recovery fee. We called upon receipt of the confirmation and were told that there is a $75 deposit towards amenities and we would receive a refund if not used. Totally deceptive.

Booked wrong date, needed to change to one day earlier. They told me I had to first cancel the first one so they could rebook and I would get a credit. This has not happened. Will never use your services again and will make sure to let my friends and family know as well.

I booked a reservation last evening for hotel rate of $159 when I added my credit card info it was immediately processed for over $230. I never received an email confirmation! I have tried every phone # I can find. This site is terrible! I would rate this site a "0" if your scale went that low!

**Update - after writing this reveiw i was contacted by a much friendlier, concerned customer rep. And issued a full refund.
Got online to book a hotel where our travel team was staying, asked immediately for the dates I was looking for, input the information (almost 2 months away), found the room and clicked on "BOOK NOW". Never did it ask to confirm dates or any other information, just asked for name, address and payment info. After I input the information and clicked on "COMPLETE RESERVATION" it wasn't until the reservation was done that it told me the date that the room was booked for was TODAY, I called and was confused when they answered "Getaroom" since I thought I was on the hotel sight. Because it was after 10 they said they were unable to cancel my reservation for that night, I asked if they could change it to another date and they refused to do that also. When I called the hotel direct my room ended up being cheaper and they were much friendlier.

I made a 10-day reservation by mistake canceled the reservation my card was charged $1,696.88 which they never credited back my card after cancelling reservation I had to call the credit card company to cancel it then I made another reservation for 2 days they charge the card $316.46 the room cost was only $197.25 still waiting for a credit I my card unfortunately I called the company they're telling me that that was the rate of the room for two days and they claim to be the lowest one out there to get the room for you what a joke this company I would never recommend I would never use and I would highly recommend no one to use it

We booked through what we thought was the Hilton Honors website. Made a reservation for a week in March 2022. Got the charge on our cc it had more then $ 400.00 extra fees added on plus on the website it said we could cancel up to a few days b/4travel.
Since they wouldn't take the extra fees off we asked to cancel and refund our money. They refused! Today we decided to Try to cancel, they did & took our entire payment (we were not to pay until we arrived) they have refused to refund any of our money! Stay away! We will be taking action against these sharks!

This is by far the most disappointing experience with any online booking I have ever had. The information with the booking does not tell you how high is the booking fee. They do not even give you a summary of the total cost so you can verify before finalising the payment. In addition the phone contact is almost impossible and the customer service email while timely is unhelpful. Never book with them

Please beware of this corporation. They are third party and affiliated with reservations.com. I had to change my travel plans due to exposure to positive Covid-19 and a representative asked me to submit my Covid-19 test results to *******@getaroom.com in order for them to give me a refund. They do not have any cancel/refund policy! Buyers Beware of organizations like this, they are going against HIPPA laws by asking people to submit medical information in order to cancel a hotel reservation.

WARNING DO NOT USE THEM! This site should be shut down. They steal your money. Cancel Policy is BULL! I booked a room on 1-27-22 at 8:30pm for 1-29-22. Next day canceled by mistake and they still charged me 211.22 which was cancelled well before 24 hours of staying at the hotel. I talked with customer service and explained the accident and they had no compassion what's so ever and told me this was non-refundable. They can issue refund, read the BBS they refunded many customers due to the same reasons.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
