Third party company that does not make it self known until you receive confirmation. I had no idea I was booking through a third party as they make it to appear that you are on the actual hotels website. I realised within 10mins of booking that I had accidentally booked the wrong arrival date. I had booked the same date of booking, instead of two days later. I called to change, not cancel, just change. When I called I realised Ihad somehow been redirected to a third party website. I told them I made a mistake with my booking and they said there are no same day cancellations and had already charged my credit card... which ended up to be over an additional $100 in fees. Again, I never knew or intended to book through Get A Room or HotelValues.com, they have a few different names they operate under... and after this experience would definitely not use them. Room charge is in dispute with credit card company.
Customer service reps were unable to assist me on two separate phone calls. I was attempting to upgrade my room for an upcoming reservation. They both said that there was no availability for the upgraded suite on the dates I was looking at. I was able to book the upgraded suite through the website without an issue.

I was booking a room at Embassy suites Tampa through the website ran by GETAROOM. After picking the room and providing my payment information I clicked to book the reservation. The website said "declined" and I clicked a second time and website again said declined. Knowing I had entered my information correctly and having plenty of money to pay for the reservation I then figured there was some computer glitch with the website.
Needing to make the reservation I then found another website and booked the room at the Embassy Suites. I immediately received confirmation email of that booking.
The next day there was an email from GETAROOM confirming the original attempt to book the room and my debit card had been charged. Given I had prior confirmation from the other site I contacted GETAROOM customer service and originally spoke to a lady who listened to the story and told me I could not be refunded. I then wrote on Sitejabber about the problem and expressed my dismay with the situation. I have to say that Customer Service from GETAROOM promptly contacted me and resolved the dispute by refunding my payment.
I was really impressed with the response and resolution to my inquiry by their customer service team. Given this response I will not be hesitant to use GETAROOM for my future booking needs.

If you wish to spend hours over the phone with stupid people that cannot assist you, that's here! They could not just cancel one night from my reservation, I ended up booking a second reservation following their advice and was charged twice for the same room. They kept saying that they could not reach the hotel, then I called the hotel and they answered right away. I hope I will never use get a room services again.

I had to cancel a reservation immediately after booking due to entering a wrong date and it has been a nightmare ever since. Please book any reservations you have directly with the hotel. They charged me $178 and have been telling not to contact the hotel to get approval for a refund. The hotel has no record of my initial reservation and has said that this company is just pocketing the money from my cancellation fee. It is a scam how they send you to the hotel in order to get refunded. Do not book with anyone but the hotel

Do not use this company to book anything. They immediately 'confirm' all reservations and do not allow any refunds or even reschedules for any reason.

Biggest cluster f××k ever. Hacked my account and charged me for a room I paid for in person. Hung up on me everytime I tried calling 1 800 number total scammers. More expensive than the actual hotel reservation.

This site Does not let me put in a negative star, if it did I would.
The worst experience possible would be an understatement, I will know next time, read the reviews first but thought I was using the actual hotel site, but nope, hijacked by getaroom.com, the refund policy is no refund, read the reviews on this site and others, like TripAdvisor, trustpilot, or go to the better business bureau and look them up.
At this point, I don't care if I get a refund or not, if I can save a few people from going thru what we did with this company, it's worth it.

I called to add a night to my reservation but instead YOU cancelled my reservation and issued me a new reservation. By doing this I was charged twice. Once for the reservation YOU cancelled and once for the new reservation YOU made. This caused me to be over drawn at the bank and I had to pay a $25 overdraft fee. First I DID NOT CANCEL my reservation I just wanted to add a night. But you screwed me and YOU cancelled my reservation NOT ME. I called and the problem was resolved but I am still stuck with the $25 overdraft fee. This will be the last time I stay at a Doubletree and deal with you people!

Booked a week and half in advance for a weekend only to have plans changed. When I booked I was told I had up to the previous day to cancel with free cancelation, only to find out that was not true. Julio from getaroom ID number 0050 says it doesn't matter if u have to cancel 5 min after you book you will not get a full refund. They take one nights fees and will refund the rest, which is not what I was told when I booked. Save your time and money and do not use this company. I will be posting this review on all social media's so everyone can see what this company does also with the screen shots of the other reviews on here.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
