Love the rates but the next day I needed to change my reservation to one day less as I forgot the time difference in flying form North America to Europe. So we are arriving a day later. I would have to cancel my booking and re-book but they could not guarantee the same price as was advertised on Kayak. I checked and the current price is $72 more per night or twice the cost.
Not much more to say beyond the title of this post. When booking a room one looks for good price, good value, ease of reserving and flexibility in case plans change. This site met all of the above requirements.
This was the first time I used one of these sites to book a room and it was fantastic!
Nancy was extremely helpful and explained and/or answered all of my questions. We will definitely be using this site again.
It took a lot of back and forth with customer service but I am relieved to say that after posting a review on sitejabber and making additional phone calls, I have been assured that my reservation with be refunded
Am very, very disappointed with Getaroom. I phoned them immediately when my airline cancelled the flight to Bordeaux to ask for a refund and after waiting on the phone and sending emails I have yet to hear any response to my request. I phoned the hotel today and they said they did not know of my request (even though Getaroom assured me they had been in touch) and warned me never to use this site.
I successfully book my desirable hotel using this agent. Then, I learned that this agent charged a fee which is 50% of the actual cost incurred at the hotel. I am very upset by the extremely high service charge. Please do check with the actual price listed by the hotel before you complete your transaction thru this agent.
Discovered Getaroom through Kayak and I've been very pleased by their offerings. They don't have 'every' hotel listed, but they do have a very curated list and pretty stellar rates. Checkout was painless and I'll definitely use it again.

Reserved a room at what I thought was Marriott. Go to check my reservation tonight and find out it was getaroom.com with an additional 198.00 in tax above what I thought I was paying. Called company and talked to a Brian who was totally rude and said there was no refunds. This man should be fired... very arrogant like He was happy He ripped people off. He refused to let me speak with a supervisor. Called c. C company to dispute and they said they have had several reports about this company... how can they legally tap into a legit website and pretend they are them... reporting to bb as well
After searching every website for a good price on a room in NYC that was close to where I needed to be, I stumbled upon this site through Trip Advisor and booked the same room that would have been over $200 with tax for $177 with tax. I'm very pleased. I let you know how everything turns out.
I booked 2 rooms for a family of 5. Asked if the rooms could be conjoined and they said they would guarantee the rooms would be. After showing up the hotel did not have anything available. Getaroom would not do anything other then give me 10% of my total back. I had to call them back 3 times because the call "dropped"
I feel this company is a scam and everyone should steer clear of booking.

This company is a complete scam. The Getaroom Supervisor agreed with the Hotel Rep to modify my dates. Getaroom then charged me the full price and refused to refund the amount after I contacted them several times with the Hotel Rep on the phone. They have horrible customer service and I will never use their service again. I will also be reporting this information to the Better Business Bureau. Scammers by every definition of the word.
We booked a room thru Getaroom and was hit with 36.00 extra fee once we checked in.
While there is a notice of the fee on laptops/computers, there is no indication on their MOBILE website, which we booked on.
Customer service does not acknowledge this flaw, and it seems future customers will also be hit with unexpected fees.
I don't mind paying fees, but I do mind undisclosed fees. This company seems unethical, please be careful.

I was trying to book a room i got booked for 2 different hotels for the same day they would not cancel one because I policy they then reserved transaction and took the transaction again. I am out 176.28 of my hard earned money. This site charges 60 extra dollars to use their site. You can just call the call the hotel directly to book a room and avoid this site all together. I will never use another booking site ever again because of this mess. Sorry Expedia, Booking.com etc. This site is absolutely useless.

Don't ever book though this place they screw you with a 70$ fee and could have booked it at motel direct cheaper this is the biggest scam there is never use them again they people are not helpful and they have a no cancellation policy that is not shown when booking either terrible booking company

DO NOT book a room with this company! SCAM! The cancellation policy is that you must cancel on the day that you make the reservation or you are screwed. This was NOT clear when booking. On top of that, they charges me almost $100.00 in fees! I thought I was making my reservation through the H Hotel but when I called to cancel due to a family emergency they said I had to call this company. The customer service agent I spoke to was heartless and rude. I have never had such a horrible experience with hotel cancellations.

They took more money than they should have and when the question was asked as to why, they gave a generic answer and then refused to reply yo any other correspondence. Don't trust them and I would not recommend them and I will never use their website again when booking for accommodation.
I booked through them (without even realizing it) and hit the wrong date. When I tried to rectify the error by calling they told me they would cancel and reissue the correct dates. Then they hung up on me. I tried using the automated system and got a bull$#*! non answer. Then I called again and they said they had no way to help this situation. I cancelled the reservation and rec'd a bill for the full amount. I am disputing this with my cc company and hope to get some resolution. The sad part is I would have stayed with them if they had just corrected my wrong click problem. I hope someone can pull the plug on these con artists.
Almost immediately after i posted my review on sitejabber, the getaroom folks got in touch with me - they processed a partial refund and once that posts to my credit card, i'll update again

Travel agent (decades of experience) was steered to this website when booking us a room at Embassy Suites in Napa Valley, California - after a couple of days with no record of the booking on the hotel website, I called Hilton (owner of Embassy Suites) and was given their reservation number - the amount paid to the hotel was a bit more than $300 for 2 nights (peculiar since I'd paid almost $600, but we'd requested a pet in room and knew that fee was $150). After we checked out, we got a charge receipt for the pet fee, on top of the large amount we'd paid. No help from getaroom yet on the discrepancy.
They are very good at problem solving. After, I contacted them about my issue at the hotel. They take a full responsibility which is I really appreciate and hope they will keep doing this, I mean caring and listening to what customers said and give them comments. Thank you.
This company charged my credit card for a room. However, there was never a reservation made! I have never been refunded for this non existent reservation. When I tried to call, I got transferred around and eventually hung up on. It is impossible to get in touch with anyone.

I made reservation using getaroom.com at the Holiday Inn Airport West in Earth City, Missouri ($286 for one night). I have cancer and needed to cancel that reservation due to a change in treatment plans. I called the customer service and was told I could not get a refund. I tried calling the actual hotel and they told me I had to call getaroom.com. It was a circle of nonsense! I challenged the charge on my card. They researched it and getaroom.com analyst Ray Reyes lied to them when he said the hotel's policy was not to refund when they told me and so did customer service that it was getaroom.com's policy. Beware of this company who says they can get you good deals. Maybe so, but their follow on service is crap!
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
