I found their number when I google searched a Hyatt hotel I was looking to book a reservation with in Boston. Under the search this companies (loosely reference here) contact number came up. When they answered my call they knew I was looking to book a Hyatt, just asked which Hyatt and for # in party and days to reserve. All seemed very typical to me. I booked with them for my stay. Next day I printed my email confirmation and noticed a "tax recovery" charge for $240.71. I also was told there was no cancellation period by Stephanie who I pushed and she eventually gave me a 5 day grace cancellation period, thank goodness I pushed her! I was shocked as this was never defined in my phone booking. I immediately called the company and spoke with Joseph. He was helpful and kind in the beginning until I started pressing him to define these charges. I finally got from him that they are to cover taxes, occupancy, state, city, government, room and another "fee" for their services. I asked to speak to a supervisor and 55 min later, being put on hold for 6 times and dealing with now a very rude, obnoxious, arrogant Joseph he had the nerve to offer me a credit of $58 which I declined. He then put me on hold again and then came back to say he could credit me $88 since the supervisor, Jenny was still not available. I'm sure there is NO Jenny! I finally got him to tell me they are a 3rd party booking agency which was never initially disclosed to me. Then after pushing him he eventually gave the name of this fraudulent company and I then immediately googled them to read horrible reviews. I did a live chat with the Hyatt and they did have my reservation and also had other rooms available which I booked on line with them. I then cancelled my reservation and asked for an email confirmation. He battled me initially saying their would be a penalty for cancellation, to which I told him I had an email confirming I could cancel. I did cancel, made him stay on line (on hold) while I "waited" for his email confirming he had cancelled my reservation. I also kept him on hold while I called my visa company to confirm the credit back to my card in full. They verified this credit. I then informed Joseph I would be writing a review on their website and notifying the Better Business Bureau of their fraudulent activities. Happily I then said good day to Joseph and hung up, lesson learned! DO NOT ever do business with this company. The number I called was *******239

Having arranged the travel arrangements for both sets of parents on the 30th July for my birthday weekend, the weekend was literally ruined by GetARoom's incompetence and double booking.
It has taken me almost eight weeks to finally get one set of parents payments refunded (plus a pitiful £50 compensation), but I'm still getting nowhere for the other set and none of the contact telephone numbers work... COMPLETE SCAM.
Never in my experience has a hotel booking been so terribly handled and the sheer lack of compassion to a weekend being ruined for a family who had literally driven hours to get there, to only be told, 'sorry there's a double booking, nothing we can do - goodbye' is disgusting.
Both parents, in their 70's, had driven for hours to get to us for my birthday weekend - they wasted a further three hours at the hotel (Hilton Warwick/Stratford) trying to fathom what had gone wrong, none of the staff were helpful and the Hilton generally had absolutely no idea of the bookings.
By the time it was clear there was no solution being offered, they came back to me exhausted and then spent another goodness knows how many hours driving home. Do they have any idea how much upset and sadness this caused? I couldn't stop crying, nor could my mother - having not being able to see her for months. My father was over from New Zealand and again I possibly get to see him once every couple of years, so being able to spend a little precious time with them was what we'd all been looking forward to for a long long time.
Get A Room had completely ruined our weekend and I'm disgusted by the lack of compassion and empathy by the company and feel that a pitiful £50 compensation for one set of parents is a further insult to injury.
Eight weeks later and this nightmare to get the money for the other set of parents continues... DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM - THEY WILL CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING EVEN WHEN DOUBLE BOOKED!
Customer service fast and polite breakfest was good most hotels are from 6am to 9am super8 was from 530 am to 10am would stay again

The Trivago website stated the stay would total $588 and when I clicked the link to the GetaRoom website, the stay totaled $799.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
