Ordered a hydrangea that arrived with few leaves on only four very leggy stems, despite it being in season. The plant was too long to fit in the box leading to one of the stems being snapped off, trying to get through to customer service is almost impossible however, when I did I was told these are as they would expect them to be delivered. Refused to replace the plant or offer any refund.
I certainly won't be ordering anything else from Garden Express.
Don't be fooled by the low prices.
My review doesn't even get as far as the plant! My story of ordering and waiting week after week is similar to everyone else's here, but I'd like to add that this garden company seems to be in cahoots with DX Deliveries, because they have both strung me along, either saying that the other company has my plant or claiming that it's waiting to be collected. My non-existent fig tree (£80 which I shall never see again) is bound to be dead after having apparently been on and off the van, in and out of the depot, and goodness knows where else for weeks on end.
Gardening Express have stolen my money and they are nothing but thieves. Please can somebody investigate?
Please do not use this company, read all the reviews online about them. They are rated so low, (mostly 1*) they supplied me with a dying tree and then refused to replace it. I received it in April and as a bare root it took over a month to show any life. It finally died in late July but their brutal response was to say they would not do anything as their policy was bare roots are not covered if you do not report issues before the end of July!
I made an order under #******* for 4x plants and only 3x arrived. Delivery took ages with little communication.
I have been chasing the additional plant for around 6 weeks now on the contact page, emails and instagram. Not one reply!

After 2 weeks from order, I had what can only be described as a twig delivered. I was supposed to get a plant full of buds and flowers (and yes it was in season) but definitely did not receive what was described. I'm not even sure if the twig is alive. I have filled out the online form and emailed them with pictures and absolutely no reply. You can't comment on Facebook, you can't use Resolver as they don't have any communication set up with this company, there is no telephone number and seemingly they completely ignore all emails and their website does everything possible to elude all contact with customers. Absolutely disgusted with the product received and zero customer service. I do not know how this company is in business and I would strongly urge anyone not make a purchase from them.
After attempting to contact Gardening Express using their online form, I have heard nothing from them since I sent it nearly 2 months ago... I ordered a number of plants and, although some of them were ok (& the prices were attractive), I sent them photos of: 3x LEWISIA, 1x DELOSPERMA, 4x Echinacea Breeders Mix - all of which were dead -- or nearly dead -- on arrival. I am an experienced gardener, but I am really disappointed with their customer service/support as well as with these plants. I can't recommend Gardening Express as they have made no attempt to resolve the problems with the plants they sent and, since hearing nothing (& they cannot be phoned), I have had to go elsewhere to buy the plants I paid Garden Express to deliver.

Oh, how I wish I'd read these reviews before using this company... I'll never use again & would advise others to avoid.
Circa £40 spent on plants; *two weeks* after ordering, they arrived... All crammed into one box, crushing each other. One is diseased and dying, another simply dying... and the remaining ones have unfortunately been neglected so much, they're unlikely to ever succeed. There's barely any foliage, let alone flowers.
These are not fit for purpose and could not be further from the standard of plants advertised on website.
I contacted them immediately on receipt (via website, as no phone!) I've emailed 3 times...
Not a single reply. Detailed photos were provided...
WHAT A SCAM
Initially, they appeared to be good, the plants were in good quality and arrived within a decent time period. However have since placed 5 other orders and each time the deliveries are slower and slower to the point they are exceeding the 10 days they say. Customer Service is non existent and disgusting. Availability not great either. Whilst the quality of plants have been good for the most part, it is not enough to keep my custom. Have since used one of their direct oppositions, not only did the plants arrive within 2 days, they were well packed, excellent quality and did not charge for delivery unlike Gardening Express. Once the last two deliveries eventually arrive, they will never get my business again. NEVER heard of a company that treats loyal customers so badly, you would think they more you spend the more they would look after you, but it is the complete opposite with gardening express. Of all the plants only one was not at all happy with as was diseased but then only cost a pound so just destroyed it, was a Cucumber plant.
I ordered a duo pear tree that was described as 'established'. When it turned up as a gift, every leaf had been ravaged by insects and the info sheet attached to the stem was old, dirty and brittle (it broke off when being taken out of the box. The tree has clearly not been looked after in a nursery and was in no fit state to be sold and the customer services for Gardening Express have not responded. Based on this experience I DO NOT recommend this company.
I ordered 2 plants. Cost of 74.00. One had eaten leaves looked like vine weevil had attacked it. The other was a poor spindly thing with yellow leaves. Dry as a bone and looks dead. Very disappointed.

Dreadful customer service. Contacted them by email about a problem with my order as it's the only way they communicate with customers; what type of company doesn't have a phone number.

Ordered plants from here on the 25th July as I had a party planned for 5th August. Site claims 3-5 days to despatch. A week later still on the same screen as when I paid on the 25th. No contact number finally today got an email saying 7-10 days to dispatch. This is stated on the site as a very exceptional time scale. Only on bank or national holidays.
Then up to 3 days for the courier to deliver.
You can only cancel your order in the first 24 hours of ordering.
Complete shysters avoid like the plague.Be warned!

The plants pictured, do not relate to the plants you buy. I bought a pack of 5 Kniphofia, Fire Rocket Mixture. They arrived in one very manky polythene bag, smelling like something had died! I've planted them all up, one so far looks healthy, but I have no idea what colour, as they were not individually labelled or separated. I think I got 2 plants that might develop and a handful of roots that were left, I shared equally between 2 further pots, but I don't think they'll come to anything. I believe this is done to save costs. You cannot contact ANYONE, they DO NOT reply to emails, the DO NOT have a number on their website to contact direct, therefore I feel they've taken money under false pretences. I am going to look into this further as I would like a refund.
Plants were not in the state I would have expected, actually that's an understatement, they were half dead and it wasn't down to transportation. I contacted the company via their contact page with photos and then again a week later via email and still not heard anything back. I would be very wary buying anything from this company.
As everyone else has said, this company says they will reply to a completed web form but they do not. Received unusable plants, very damaged and they don't give a hoot. Will never waste my money there again. Shocking and how they can trade like this is disappointing to say the least. Be very warned people, buy elsewhere, this company does not deserve your trade!
I recently ordered a three colour Hibiscus from Gardening express and although delivered in a timely manner, the plant was completely dead. I have complained to them about this and carried out the tests they suggested but the plant is now three months old and showing no sign of life at all. I have found it almost impossible to contact them and have requested a full refund (of over £30) But as yet have had no response at all. Deal with this company at your peril as they are the worse I have ever come across.
Only received 7 of 8 plants ordered and paid for. Zero customer service. I sent a photo as asked but then none of my 4 or 5 emails have received a response. Effective theft combined with shocking regard for customer.

Answer: Suggest complaining to the UK government's Coronavirus Business Complaints process as sadly many people have had the same experience including myself. Their Quality "tickets" process is all part of the scam.
