Disgraceful thieves

I paid in good faith for a wedding gift over £50 and no delivery I have proof no delivery was made and no refund and no acknowledgement, mailbox full, no phone number to complain so have had to raise with credit card company

Terrible all round

Order was late. Tried to contact their customer service team but couldn't even send email as their inbox was full. Also filled in the form on the website and yet to hear back. Order finally arrived. The packages were all damaged and the pots were all dented. The plants were a really low quality (e.g. The lavender was nearly dead) and some of the items were missing.

Terrible customer service as do not reply. I bought two tulip trees and one seems to be growing fine but the second one is not doing anything. I have sent messages to gardening express over two weeks period but yet to receive a response.

Absolutely rubbish

Ordered a 1ft tree fern with 100cm minimum ferns. There was no trunk at all and ferns measured 70cm all most were shrivelled and dead. Sent 9 messages and 3 emails to the CEO. No response at all. Contacted bank in the end.

Ordered two hydrangea that arrived with few leaves despite it being in season, trying to get through to customer service is almost impossible but when I did I was told that I hadn't given the plants the right care, I'd only had them 1 day. Refused to replace until time had passed to prove they were dead. I potted them on, 2 months later after watering and feeding appropriately I just had sticks in a pot. Gardening Express then refused a replacement outright. Don't be fooled by the low prices.

The company sent my order late, it was not what I ordered and then they didn't respond to any of the communication I sent to them. The fact they do not respond and remove all commenting from Instagram and Facebook says it all.

I am nearly 80 years old and made a mistake in my house number.
All Gardening Express has said that I must sort it out with Yodel & Yodel say that they can not amend the number without the senders permission which I quite understand.However Gardening express are intransigent about this and the upshot is that they have my money and I do not have the goods.
No wonder that they "hide" behind a no telephone number policy.All of this worry has made me feel very ill and am now resigned that I will not see my money or my goods.
I can not upload proof of purchase as I do not know how to do it-I have given the order

Plants turned up 2weeks after ordering half dead and nothing like the pictures on their site. One small tree was nearly dead.
£70 I won't be getting back.
Complained with pictures and chased for a response, still no contact.
Please avoid and stick to your local garden centre

I ordered 8 plants on the 4th May and based on their web site information, allowing for busy times, I was under the impression I would receive them after 10 working days max. ( although their web site says they aim for 3-5 days). I e-mailed them on the 17th May having heard nothing as regards despatch or otherwise. As I was going away for a week's holiday the following week, given the delay, I requested they deferred the despatch until I returned the week after. Two days later they e-mailed me to say once an order had been allocated for despatch, it could not be deferred or cancelled. They suggested I re-arranged the delivery requirements with the carrier - Yodel - when they contacted me. Yodel messaged me two days later and gave me a date for delivery - during the week I was away on holiday. They also explained this order could not be delayed or diverted. Very helpful! I managed to get my daughter to spend the day at our house and accept the delivery - which she did. She noticed that one of the boxes was crushed and broken open.The driver said she had to correspond with the office and was not interested in any discussion. She took photographs and a video. She then opened them up to discover the plants were crammed in two per box. One of the bamboo plants was bent & broken. One of the Ilex plants was bone dry and already brown. She looked after them as best she could, watering them every day unto my return 4 days later. I then reviewed all the plants. The dry Ilex was now dead, ( the others were ok but very small.) The broken bamboo was also very ' sick' and I was shocked at the quality of the spindly weedy hydrangea plants they had supplied. They were a special offer at 3 for £30 so I was not really surprised and decided to put those in my greenhouse and nurse them to better health. On checking their website, Gardening Express do everything to prevent you contacting them directly. No direct contact e-mail, no contact number, no live chat facility, just a convoluted online form under FAQs. ( I used this for my earlier query on despatch). I duly sent them a respectful online communication with the facts and photos, requesting a replacement Bamboo and Ilex plant. I have now since sent two more as they have not replied to any. ( I notice they say not to send more than one as their system might consider it Spam - very convenient) I give up - all I can do is now spread the word on Social Media about my experience - which I have started to do. I would suggest they contact a professional online supplier instead who actually cares about their customers and service. Unfortunately I am unable to give them no stars so I have given them the next best.

I ordered a plant which arrived on Monday 12 June however as soon as I removed it from the box I could see the poor plant was dead. I have tried emailing, messaging through Facebook and contacting through the Gardening Express web page at least half a dozen times but have had no response whatsoever. I am absolutely appalled at the total lack of customer service and will never ever deal with Gardening Express again.

They offer a 5 year guarantee on their plants, which sounds good - doesn't it?

But when you try to speak to them because your plants *arrive* sickly, they ignore your emails, messages etc. and have no phone number to contact them.

And even if you don't have any problems, the despatch process is a bit iffy - you order, pay for, and wait...and wait... and wait, and all the time their website just says "processing", with no indication of when or if it's ever going to get despatched.

This is a shady company - avoid them.

Ordered two Californian lilac standards which arrived as barely more than twigs. At a cost of £66 including postage I as not happy so immediately contacted customer services via their chat which is their only way...clever not to have a phone line as they can ignore you and there's nothing you can do about it. I would never use again.

Bought around £600 worth of plants. About 5 died after about 3 to 4 months, I assumed its because of the cold weather. They told me I'm covered by a 5 year warranty. Then totally ignored me when I said I'd chose a new plant. No idea why they offered me a rep

Worse company to deal with,place a big order,upon receiving one plants nearly dead & other was out of soil and 2 branches already/ nearly broken, contacted Garden express 4 times by chat,quick messaging and email NO REPLY. Not going to return dead plants and to bare the expenses als have no guarantee i will get my money. They claim they r cheaper than than yougarden and rest but there quality are far worse than others and small plants. Be aware don't buy from Garden Express
