Do not order from this Chicago based company. They will ask for a review when you place your order. Most all their reviews are from people who just placed their order. The problems begin once you order. Company is impossible to reach by telephone, and emails are not helpful. I was told that my items were in stock, and would be shipped in 7 business days. Later told that item is in the where house, but not enough trailers to ship? No tracking # provided. Did not ship within promised period. When told I wanted to cancel, English Elm claimed item is considered shipped, even though it hasn't. Very concerned with business practices, and many poor reviews about broken merchandise RCD, lon waits for orders, etc. Let the buyer be ware! I would never order from English Elm again!
Placed an order but cancelled it via email prior to shipping (no one answers or calls back on the customer service phone). No one got back to me for 3 days so I sent a follow up making sure they cancelled it. Got 2 responses in 12 hours that they would go ahead, make sure it didn't ship and then cancel and get back to me and confirm. They shipped it 8 hours later (4 days after cancellation request) then said sorry it's too late. They are refusing to have it rerouted back to their warehouse which UPS only allows shipper to do. Saying if I deny the package, they will charge me $140 for RT shipping on a $220 item. Has taken them more than 24-48 hours to respond to emails so we could work this out. No email signatures. Not sure if real humans work there as they do not provide human to human interaction with customer service.
Terrible customer service. No phone calls. Read all return information. You basically cannot return anything for any reason. Read all reviews on the internet, then shop at a reliable store that will stand behind their products like Wayfair.
The company they use to ship your stuff is a JOKE! The box was destroyed when it showed up today. It was so torn apart he couldn't even get it in my house so he had to carry in each piece of my table while the box lay in my front yard. Prior to this I found out the hard way that their is no one who will answer or return calls. They do all communication via email and after about 20 emails back and forth I learned they just tell you what you want to hear but it really goes nowhere. They did make my deadline but the stress of what to do if there was a damage to my table was not worth it. I'll stick with known companies who back up there stuff in the future. I read if there are damages upon arrival you still pay to return it and I had I refused the delivery today (with the box in shambles) I would have been charged a refusal fee. Insane in my opinion and lesson learned. BE CAREFUL before ordering with this company! I just tried to upload photos but isn't allowing me to.
I ordered a set of 2 end tables and coffee table from them. They came several days late. Got 1 complete end table and 1 incomplete plus no coffee table. They did end up sending another end table after a lot of back and forth and begging on my end. And they said the coffee table was discontinued and would have to refund me for a portion of my order. Fine but now we don't have a matching coffee table. Wish they would have disclosed that before I ordered the set of 3
I did not like how the prices went up in such a short amount of time.
I was checking prices and comparing with other sites and after a few weeks the prices had gone up since the last time I checked.
Delivery was quick though which I appreciated, even though the delivery was not the most gentle

Experience went well. I was looking for decor for our walls and feel in Love with what I found.
I ordered a small side table, got a good deal and in 3 days it was on my porch, all the way from Canada. The only thing was aftrer I placed the order, I was suppose to get a email that it had shipped, that never came but who cares? It was here faster than expected and in perfect condition.
Although it took 5 weeks for our Aspenhome bed to arrive, Englishelm was $400 cheaper than the next closest price I could find. We had a minor issue, but their customer service was responsive and helpful. Bottom line, if you need it fast, look elsewhere. If you want the best deal, try Englishelm. I will be using them again!
From arriving as promised to protective packaging everything was great. The parts were labeled and it went together as described, a nice piece of modern furniture! And out of stock at higher price elsewhere. Really organizes my living! Thanks EE!
I ordered a rug on October 2,2020 with the understanding that normal delivery ( outside of an Amazon-type environment) could take up to 2 weeks.
I have made 3-4 inquiries about delivery. They provide no tracking numbers. After 3 weeks, I still have nothing. Someone always responds thanking me for my patience, but that no consolation.
It's a horrible process, and once I get delivery (if I get delivery), it will be my last encounter. Beware if you decide to order from English Elm.
Wasted my teams time on a huge project, they list items as in stock then we received an email saying everything we ordered is no longer available. I understand this is a tough time with inventory, keep your website up to date, so customers don't waste there time by ordering items based on your availability. Will never use this service again.

Honestly, I don't know what everyone is talking about, because I had a very, very pleasant experience. First of all you're talking to individual people with names. They're based out of the US (Chicago I think). They email you with updates right away (i did have an email that went to spam but that may be my own settings) and the item ships out as represented. Would probably order again, but don't really need anything.
I purchased a rug and they have took money out of the account, two days later I received an email stating it was canceled as item is out of stock even though in their site was still available tried numerous of times calling no one ever answered the phone, thru e-mail communication that took a whole day to answer few questions I asked to be called no one called me, I asked for a different size of the rug they said it doesn't come at that size even though I have screen shots of their site offering the size, there was really no way to reason or make anything happen positively so I asked for my money back, wish I could give 0 start only reasons I bought i confused them for west elm

Hi Edina! We know how frustrating this experience is and we are deeply sorry. We all want the best for our customers but we really have no control with regard to abrupt stock availability changes. Rest assured that we will be transparent and you will be informed with the status of your item.
This company advertises that items are "in stock" and then after you order them, they send you an email that the item is a custom/made to order item and that production is pushed back a couple of weeks. They ask if this timeframe works for you, then a 50% non-refundable deposit will be used to start production. If you cancel any time after production has started, only 50% of your funds will be refunded.
The problem is that they keep sending you an email that the item is pushed back every 30-60 days. You never receive it OR your money.
Like I said, RUN!

I ordered a bed frame from this company and it had missing screws. Ive been trying to reach someone via phone and email, no one answers the phone, returns your voice messages or responds to your emails. Its been two weeks now!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company! The bed frame we bought from them target and home depot also carried at the same price, it was out of stock in both those places when we ordered from this company. Since then its become available in both those location. Dont order from this company, wait for a more reliable company to have them in stock.

I purchased two side tables that took over 6 months to get to me and if that wasn't bad enough, they shipped it to the wrong address and unwilling to own up to their mistake or make it right.
This company is a nightmare to work with and has been extremely unpleasant. Pls do yourself a favor and buy furniture from anywhere else. If this is your last resort, be patient and wait for someplace else.

Placed an order for 2 chairs. They took the money out of my account and then wrote me days later that they did not have the chairs in stock. If you didn't have them in stock the money should not have came out of my bank account. 7 days later I still don't have a refund, I have called several times and cannot get in touch with anyone, I did email and Melisa said the money was never taken out when it was definitely taken out. She said to ease my mind I should call my bank, so I did and they confirmed that English Elm has not refunded my money yet on their end. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

Wish I would have read these reviews before ordering from this business. Placed a order weeks ago, received limited communication on the order and had to continuously email them for an update. Today, they texted me to say they've canceled the order and will offer a refund for the product with no explanation. Have not checked to see if the refund has been processed and wonder if they actually have any of the products they list for sale. Now starting over and frustrated.
