I was told via email and text that my account was being refunded after the order was cancelled because of a stocking issue.
It has been several days now and no transfer transaction to my bank has ocurred.
I have sent numerous messages and no response. Phone number does not work. Be careful!
Bought a piece of furniture. The charged upfront for the back ordered product. I received a substandard product. I wanted to take it back. The claims manager accused me of theft. I'm going to take action. DO NOT do business with this company.

Terrible bed. Terrible customer service. My bed had split wood even before putting it together but I told myself it was fine because you "couldn't see that part" but the second I put my mattress on the entire headboard broke. I emailed the company with pictures asking for a refund and they told me it doesn't qualify. Ummm if the entire bed breaking doesn't qualify I don't know what will! Been going back and forth now and they're still refusing to refund. TERRIBLE company, product, and customer service team. Run, you'll thank me later.
They are selling things on their website that once you purchase it they will then tell you its on back order. There is no mention on the website that the item is not actually available and is on back order. Every few months they will extend the date its going to be shipped back by a few months.
Complete scammers.
I ordered a patio set (love seat, 2 chairs and a coffee table). Same set was out of stock at the big box stores. It was delivered in the estimated time frame but had a manufacturer defect. I was able to fix it by drilling a new hole and continyed assembling. It was fine but I emailed the English Elm team and they sent me 2 new chairs. That were delivered within 48 hours of my email. Now I have 4 chairs which is cool. Would order from them again. Super responsive and a quick and reasonable solution to my issue.
Don't order anything from them! I order tier glass cake stand about 3 months ago, they charge me for three of them and I never received any. I didn't get any emails, resit, tracking number or anything very unhappy...

This Company doesn't really have stock. They fool you into purchasing items that they don't have in stock and then when they can't source those items they let you know that this item is on back order. What I think they're really doing is enticing you to purchase something that they don't really have then using your funds for other things and then getting back to you to tell you that those items are out of stock and then taking their time to refund your money back to you. They really should be looked into. Completely shady!

Nice furniture and I would even say very stylish. I saw similar items in Selfridges and John Lewis. Still, at this place, the furniture is much more affordable, the quality is outstanding, and the prices are lower compared with many other places.
Great customer service they responded to my emails quick the item came damage they shipped the replacement right away and I received it in a week. My item was over 440 lb and the company was willing to ship my new table right away.
I purchased lamps. They came not fully assembled. When I pushed the cord down through the lamp to complete assembly, it got twisted and frayed. I requested to send them back. First, I was asked for photos of the fraying and when I sent them, I was told by Andrew N. That this is normal and that this will be considered a "regular return". I said that if I have to damage an item to fully assemble it that it is not a regular return. They refuse to pay for return shipping. I finally started packing the lamps up and discovered that one had a piece cracked off of it. Due to the time that we have been arguing, they now say that my time limit for a damage claim has expired. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.
Never, ever order from a company that refuses to put a phone number or physical address on their website, or provide it to resolve complaints.
Shipped an item I had cancelled, and refused to recall the shipment, putting the burden on me to ship the item back.
I read the reviews saying items weren't as pictured and returns were a hassle... but I bought anyway :( And when my rug didn't even have the same colors as the one i purchased, I returned it... for a shipping fee of $124! English Elm doesn't even give you a printable shipping label and their email states if you don't give them they tracking number it may result in them not giving a refund! AWFUL! STAY AWAY!
It's easy to write a positive review when you don't have any issues. I always say, you don't know how good or bad a company is until you have a problem! Mine is a long story that has dragged out for 7 months. English Elm is a middleman operation run by 1 person. So, when you have a defective product like I did, he can't do anything other than replace with another that is also defective. Mine came from Steve Silver so don't order from them. They also refused to do anything and said it had to go through English Elm. Months of run around. I also filed a complaint with BBB and English Elm never responded. Now I'm working with my credit card co. And trying to get a refund! Spread the word!

This is my experience:
English Elm reneged on timely delivery of my coffee table after payment in full from me.
The website does not offer full disclosure of policies, delivery dates, etc. The EE staff provided me with a misleading/incorrect date of deliviery.
That is, after paying in FULL over $1000, when I sent the company an email asking when my table would arrive, EE said "August".
The next think I knew, the item was "out of stock" and I had to decide if they could hold my funds until "possibly some time in November."
In my opinion, English Elm offers products online that are not available.
In my opinion, English Elm expects to customers to pay $$ for the "opportunity to get delivery" 4 months post first stated date, while they take on other customers who pay for the same item.
I would hope that others are more wary than I was of their procedures.

I bought 4 side tables. I loved the size and style. They were easy to put together and all of them had arrived promptly with no problems.
To all potential customers that are thinking about purchasing from English Elm... Don't. They advertise HASSLE FREE returns, when in reality they should say "Non-A$$hole Free Returns". My current best friend and boss is now stressed out because she needed to return a rug and some dude named, Andrew (don't think he is real) threatened to sue her, over a rug. She asked multiple times for both a shipping label and where to return it, "Andrew" did not email back until after the "deadline" and now is sending her to "local authorities" for what reason? Yeah, a rug... rugs are lame anyway. DO NOT BUY from English Elm.

I ordered a room divider from English Elm and a day later I got a email saying the item was out of stock. So I got my money back and noticed they were still selling the same item a week later. I then ordered a different divider and same thing happened again. Apparently they don't have the products they're advertising.
I placed an order that was expected to arrive in a few days, but when I placed the order I received no indication of when it would be received. I reached out and they informed me my order was actually backordered for weeks and if I wanted to cancel I had to reach out 7 days before it was going to be shipped (which according to them, was weeks away). I went ahead and cancelled the order and purchased something from somewhere else in it's place. 5 days later, the item from English arrived to my apartment and they are saying too bad there is nothing they can do. There was no apology, no attempt to make it right, and now I am stuck with a $200+ console table that is difficult to build and I have no where to put it. TERRIBLE 0/10 would recommend
I ordered a small table for my laptop in October 15th. It's now Thanksgiving. There's no shipping update, no order update, no phone number to call, and no response to my email inquiries so now I'll have to do a chargeback which is a royal pain!
It's really disappointing especially considering I spent hours searching for a US based company to avoid these hassles.
