Unreliable service

IF THEY DID IT ONCE, THEY WILL DO IT AGAIN!
I have ordered an item through BORDERFEE under a free shipping campaign the company had leashed with TARGET. BORDERFEER and TARGET decided to call off most orders after 5 days of the purchasing confirmation for NO apparent reason. For real! Ask them! In today's international trading norms this is unacceptable. By the way, they did it with approximately 14,000 order. Not exactly a one time slip.
This is what they have sent me (and many others apparently):

Dear Target Guest,

Due to the much higher than anticipated response to the Borderfree Free Shipping promotion, we are unable to deliver order E4X00XXXXXXXXX and had to cancel it. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.

Remember-IF THEY DID IT ONCE, THEY WILL DO IT AGAIN!

I will never use this company again. I didn't have any idea who they were until I was told by Party City that they would be responsible for shipping. I ordered my products on May 10th, I received notice that some of the products would be shipped later. Because of the length of time it took them to get any of the products to me I was concerned that the remainder of the order would arrive too late for the event we were having. I phoned them and sat on hold forever, I wrote them twice via their company e-mail and never received any kind of response. I finally received a notice that the remainder of the order would arrive on June 2. The order arrived, it wasn't what I had ordered and they had charged my visa account in the amount which would have been correct if they sent me the right item. It is now too late to order another one. I talked to party city and got a refund for the incorrect product but wasn't refunded my shipping fee. This company is an international warehouse for a number of merchants so they are the ones that are responsible for actually packing and sending the order. Their shipping fees are ridiculous, in many cases the shipping fees were more than the cost of the product. If you find out that your order will be handled by Borderfree forget it. Their customer service is the worst!

About 6 months ago I had considered using Borderfree (and other similar companies) to get an item shipped from the US to Canada, but because the reviews for these companies were so bad I decided against it. Then last week I ordered a Halloween costume from Partycity.ca and after I had placed my order I realized the item was being delivered from the US by Borderfree. I went and re-read the reviews (hoping my memory was wrong!) but they were all still as bad as before. I truly didn't expect to receive my package.

The costume was ordered on the afternoon of October 14th. The estimated shipping time given was 10-20 days. On the same day I received shipping notification from Borderfree.

Today (Oct 18) I clicked the link in the email to check the shipping status. It said "Oct 17 out for delivery" and the etd was Oct 19th. I went for a walk to my mailbox and the package had already been delivered.

So I don't know what to say. My experience was excellent and trouble free, however due to so many other people having issues with them I would still likely hesitate before using them again.

I bought a few items online. I wanted to return 1 item that cost $12US. It has cost me $40 Canadian to return a $12US item. Ridiculous! Do not use Borderfree!

I have made a purchase from borderfree. And ı am so dissappointed my order is on hold cause they couldnt provide info to DHL since 8th July. ıt is a simple info and woudnt take time. Allthough thry were worned by Nordstrom they still couldnt contact DHLı am adding thr letter DHL sent me.

The trio of llbean.ca, borderfree.com, and intelcom is horrendous at tracking a parcel. Not one of them can tell me where my shipment is, and all of them must be in some sort of abyss!

BAD EXPERIENCE

I live in the Philippines and usually when i bought items from different sites online, i have it shipped to a local logistics company based in new york to have it sent to me within a few days. Usually using that method the longest wait period for me is 2 weeks.
Recently while browsing a few sale items from rebecca minkoff. I noticed that the prices were not that bad. It was already converted to the currency we use here. I decided to buy 2 items and have it shipped directly to my office since that option looks good... NOT GOOD! Item ordered using borderfree was submitted since November 17. IT was only "Shipped" on the 1st of december. What the hell did i pay for express shipping if it took them almost a month to deliver my items. I am still waiting to receive my items.
I tried calling them a few times telling them that i want to cancel my order they kept telling me that they cant. I also tried calling them to see if they have received the items i ordered from the rebecca minkoff website, they kept telling me that they haven't received the items but upon confirmation with rebecca minkoff the items were already delivered to their warehouse.

Still waiting for my items. Will update soon once i receive it.

GOOD LUCK IF YOU WANT TO USE BORDERFREE. LOUSY SERVICE

I ordered two dresses. Never received a confirmation of purchase, but Borderfree debited the money for the purchase from my Paypal account. After two weeks and I had already sent an complaint to Paypal and Borderfree I received two packages. I asked for a return as I no longer needed the clothes. I received a reply that I would receive more information about my return in a separate email within a few days. However, I did not receive a reply for about two weeks. After further complaints I received the return details. I returned all items in early December and received a partial refund on 25th December on my Paypal account - no reason was given why they only refunded the money for one dress. Just for your information, I bought the clothes on November 2nd and the problems keep going on. I have sent several complaints since 1st of January, however Borderfree did not answer so far. From my experience so far, I assume that they will potentially answer after two to three weeks.
Update: Now Borderfree responded that they cannot refund the money, as (i) I have opened a dispute at Paypal (which is already closed since the 25th of december and which Borderfree denies) and (ii) that they did not receive any return. The reasoning is false and does not even make sense!

Update: Borderfree confirmed the return on the the 18th of January but refuses to refund my money! They don't even respond to my emails anymore.

Once again, I am forced to tolerate Border Free in order to purchase from LL Bean while living in Canada. I ordered the items on January 29,2020, via LLBean.ca and they were (finally) shipped out on January 5,2021. It is January 12th and all Border Free's crack package tracking website will disclose is that it's been shipped - no estimate of delivery date or whether it's been through Canada Customs. I have been ordering clothes with no hassles from LL Bean for many years, but since it has switched to using Border Free for international deliveries, it can take three weeks to a month to receive an order. My housemate has the same issues and worse. Her latest LL Bean shipment arrived with only one out of four items in the box. Upon further examination, she realized the box had been opened and resealed. Based on the weight of the package before it arrived at the border and at the border (the package's weight was taken numerous times throughout the delivery process), the items were probably removed at some point in the U.S. by Border Free employees. When made aware of what happened, LL Bean promptly replaced the items for free. Be aware when purchasing from a company that uses Border Free for international orders - the company has little or no tracking capabilities and packages tend to show up at your door with no notice. If I could rate them ZERO STARS, I would.

I was extremely concerned about my two orders with Borderfree after reading the mass negative reviews online, but to my surprise the experience with them was relatively painless. I ordered from Adrianna Papell and Dr. Martens and both packages arrived on their expected delivery dates fully intact with the correct items, and were delivered to a PO box with no hassle - something which is pretty rare shipping from the US to rural Australia.

I was not charged twice like many other reviewers and the payment did not go through my PayPal until the package was shipped, as they describe on their website. I did call their toll-free helpline to get an update on my packages as they had sat being "submitted" for a week, and the person who I spoke to was quite helpful and nice despite being from an overseas call centre.

Other things I would keep in mind when shopping with Borderfree:
- It takes them a ridiculously long time to answer emails, you're better off calling.
- The time your order sits being "submitted" is included in the shipping time, it doesn't push back your delivery date like I thought it might have.
- I placed an order several months ago which sat being "processed" for a week before being cancelled, which I believe is due to the item going out of stock before Borderfree alerted the company in question of my order. Be wary that your order isn't really confirmed until it is "submitted".
- Borderfree's returns policy is complete bull. Pay extra attention to what you're ordering beforehand because there is no way you will ever get your full amount back doing a return.

Overall I think the key to having a decent shopping experience with Borderfree is more just keeping a very close eye on your order, and if anything seems a little off giving them a call. However, if you have the opportunity to use a local or more reputable shipping company I would go with them instead - I feel like using Borderfree is taking a risk on your order and there's about a 50/50 chance things will go to hell, I just got lucky!

ABSOLUTE IDIOTS

I hate this company they have ruined the shopping experience for me and my daughter! We used to buy a lot from an online store in the UK, I mean a lot!
Then the store decided to put all its international orders through borderfree.com.
Since doing so we have had nothing but troubles.
Cancelled orders, being charged twice, missing payments, missing items, parcels not being delivered and they claim the address was wrong, but upon checking it was not true, delayed refunds, final notice payments even though we had paid, threats that if we do not pay our ability to shop with any store affiliated with Borderfree will be compromised. EVEN though they had my money already.
They will remove your money on the day you order then they do it again when they send the order out, if you complain they lie and say the bank holds the funds, they do not get it until the parcel is sent to you. If that is so why do I keep getting billed twice, the sum goes down in my bank (twice) then all of a sudden Borderfree put it back in without even so much of an apology! See the photo and you will note the amount is taken out twice then put back in. THEY deny doing this. Seems from other people I have spoken to it is common practice to do it. They have also stopped us using Paypal on the site we shop on, but Borderfree still use Paypal if asking for money from them. I think it is because if we pay with Paypal we have a way of getting our money back if Borderfree mess up. WE LOVE the store we buy from but since they started using Borderfree it has ruined everything!
The people you email just say the same over and over, if you try to call all the phone does is beep beep beep.

I made an order with ULTA Canada, only to find out after I made the transaction it was thru this third party company, known as BORDERFREE. This has been the worst experience ever. I love ULTA but for them to be working with this scum of a company makes me just want to take my business elsewhere. I spent a pretty penny for them to not have any answers. I was given a tracking number which didn't even work. Whenever I called customer service the first time I was told that it was sitting at customs and that it could possibly sit there for another 3 weeks (mind you it's been a month), which sounds like total BS. This last time they said it was actually sitting in the borderfree warehouse, and didn't know how long it was going to stay there... REALLY?! I am so disappointed in ULTA because they're usually pretty good about keeping their customers happy but in this case, their representatives seemed to not know what to do because " I don't really deal with calls from Canada" I feel as though they should be well rounded in their business and give me better options. The last call I've made since I don't want to take my chances in wether or not I'll get my money back said they couldn't offer me a store credit via my email with the CAD to USD exchange rates applied, since I'll be travelling to the states in the next week. I will never order from ULTA as long as they are still working with this scam of a company "Borderfree", they have no sense of integrity.
