Misleading advertising
November 6, 2019

No shipping costs because they're including shipping in "other costs", which are the shipping costs, and they are shipiing with DHL, which is the worst service in the world!

How to select "0" stars!?

I've used Borderfree services before. (I adore & miss my country, it's great, I thought). In my last order, I noticed a 70% charged in taxes. I'm closed to filing a formal consumer complaint with both countries involved.

I've emailed Borderfree 4 times in a period of 2 weeks. No answer has been provided in regards to a break down of taxes. Shipping is extremely high because it includes custom fees, shipping, freight, etc. Why are then taxes at 70%? I've tried calling the number provided in UK (since there's nothing for the country I am), the number is not recognized. I tried in all ways, shapes and forms, nothing seems to work.

The tone of my emails is drastically taking a 180 degree turn. What it all started as curiosity, has become a break of trust and suspected over charges. After much research, deliberation, time wasted, and attempts to contact them, the silence tells me I've been overly charged, BY A GREAT amount, yet Borderfree decides to ignore me. Perhaps, I'm wrong, perhaps I need to understand. Maybe they were accurate but by not replying to my formal emails states otherwise.

We shall see if by a formal consumer complaint will turn their attention to my crying out inquiry.

**A funny note** The red flag became quite brighlty red after DE customs contacted me asking for my receipt (after I thought I had paid MORE than enough taxes and stuff), they forwarded us a "receipt" that Borderfree provided to them (supposedly that we paid). The receipt was in dollars, no taxes were listed and shipping cost were about $5. When in reality I paid 69...% in taxes, and outrageous shipping fee. Interesting huh...

The deadline for a response is becoming thing. I hope I gain an answer as soon as possible.

I recently used Borderfree for the first time and I think it's important to note a few things about the service. It's operated as a brand of Pitney Bowes, which is a global leader in logistics. If you've ever made a purchase on ebay from a foreign seller using ebay's international forwarding service then you have already dealt with this company.

I was not double-charged as others here report. But to some people it may appear so. For some reason I don't understand, American companies often put a hold on funds for purchases at the time of purchase, and then deduct the actual funds at a later point in time. This is also how Borderfree appears to have handled my order. When I placed my order, they "reserved" the entire amount and then actually charged my card for each individual shipment. I was not double-charged, however and the initial hold never actually appeared on my card.

Tracking was acceptable, but I think the company could do a better job of explaining the process. As far as I can tell, your order is shipped to them, they ensure that everything is there and document it for customs, then forward it. Pricing is a little too high in my opinion, but it could be worse.

A few other things that could be improved:
- Borderfree purchasing page on Target is painfully basic and slow. Many items say available for shipping in search results but are not when you visit their their individual page. You can workaround this by putting them in your cart directly from the search list.
- Promotional codes do not work. Even the codes shown specifically for borderfree did not work for me.
- Price could be lower. I feel Borderfree is making a lot of money from this.

Hi ordered a product from US to India on Nov 21st. The product is Bond-touch. Uncommongoods use BorderFree as their delivery partner and this company uses DHL express as their carrier.
Uncommongoods said its going to take 15 days to deliver the item. But its more than that I couldn't get the delivery.
Because the product was bond-touch, I placed the shipping address to a house address of my friend and wanted the delivery there. Which is 1 lane behind our house. But now DHL express is asking for an address exact matching proof of the consignee. Since my address in the documents is different than shipping address, DHL Express asked me to send a confirmation letter of change in address from Borderfree.
When I asked BorderFree, they said we cannot provide that.
When I asked UncommonGoods, they gave me this following response in a mail.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The parcel is rejected at the door and returned by the carrier. On receipt of the parcel, the appropriate refund (as per your returns policy) will be processed.

Or delivered as agreed at which time you may issue a credit return label to the customer. "
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In indian currency, this costs over 14,000 rupees. I am not sure about my product when I will be receiving.
It just takes a minute or so just to send a confirmation mail for change in address and still borderfree (uncommongoods carrier) is not providing and stuck still with the customs.
Saw some reviews getting answered, I am trying to get solution for this without loss of money.

What is the point of the free shipping campaign with Target if Borderfree gets so much negative feedback and loss of credibility.

I made an order for Nine West shoes and realised on the same day they had the exact 2 same models, with a different heel hight. I have a foot condition and cannot wear high heals so asked for a cancellation - on the same day. This is required to be allowed within the EU within 14 days, and is part of Borderfree's terms and conditions. When contacting them, I was at multiple occasions sent to Nine West (who by the way never bothered to respond), with a one liner that they couldn't help me. When I insisted and referred to the terms and conditions, they said they would try to intercept the goods and have them sent back, and that I would get a complete refund. I was then told that this could not happen, with a reminder that I could refuse the delivery if I didn't want the goods. I cannot get them to respond when I ask if I would get refunded. It is costly to send them back (and of course could have been avoided) and I don't want to incur more costs for nothing. And of course this is all nicely done so that the 14 days expire.
I have received a the shoes have now arrived and need to be collected. I am going to the French Institut National de la Consommation / US bureau of consumer protection if I don't get a reaponse withn 24h. It may not sort out my issue but companies that play with basic customer rights need to be flagged and ultimately taken out of business.

Avoid if possible
June 21, 2018

Ha! This is a legit company? Wow. Id say it's only a matter of time before the retailers who have contracted to Borderfree, drop them as a service provider.
Emails go unanswered for weeks. You can't physically speak to a human through the 1800 number. Your credit card is double sometimes triple and quadruple charged. They claim this is as they preauthorize and hold the funds so they show as "pending" but this is not the case! Then why do 2 charges go through? I was billed for TWO $933 handbags and I only ordered 1 and received 1. Even with screenshots of my statement, screenshots of the initial order, and a claim through my credit card company, they STILL denied that they did this!
Also - one would think when u pay over 300$ in shipping and duty from the US TO Vancouver bc, that you would receive your parcel in a timely fashion. Not so much with Borderfree! It didn't even ship out until almost 2 weeks after ordering and the initial purchase page said 7 to 14 days until delivery.
They ship in clusters if its international so they wait until they have a whole bunch of packages going to your area and then ship them out as one... you know to save on shipping costs lol. Those hundreds we pay aren't enough I guess!
So after waiting months for my item, weeks to speak to someone, and months to get my item, it finally arrived. Too bad it was a gift and the occasion has passed I was forced to purchase from somewhere else. Also the only reason I did get my overcharge back was through MY credit card company. They flat out refused to admit they stole.
It would be one thing to have kinks and bumps in your service but this is downright shady. You can't have that many issues and not have any customer service in addition to the problems. If they cared and tried to smooth things over then I would give them the benefit of the doubt but they don't! They ignore you and steal!
Come on Borderfree you can do better. It's not like infrastructure and technology isn't in place... heck if Amazon and independant seller's on eBay can send items internationally, same day/next day FOR FREE surely you can get us our stuff within a month when u r charging hundreds for shipping and double charging everyone! UNREAL!

We have had the ghastliest experience with Border Free and their international delivery service for American womenswear brand DVF. Both organisations have demonstrated the utmost failings in all aspects of customer service as well as having processed and received payment for an order that was never fulfilled. On 12 December 2016, a purchase was made online through DVF.com in time for a 2016 Christmas gift delivery for my wife. A confirmation email for the purchase was received and a delivery date stated. Nothing turned up in time for Christmas, nor was any communication received from either Borderfree or DVF. One month after the purchase date, we followed up with DVF, who, a few days later, responded to advise that they did not have any information about the order and would follow up with their international logistics partner, Borderfree Inc. Several days passed and it took several more emails to chase them before they finally confirmed that Borderfree were unable to fulfil the order and therefore had cancelled it in their system. Long story short, 50+ emails later and they have still not processed a refund. Payment was made using a debit card, which meant that funds were physically transferred to Borderfree/DVF at point of purchase. Despite explaining this, providing them with evidence (bank statement) they are taking no responsibility nor approaching this with any decency and issuing a refund of funds that have physically left our bank account. Moreover, DVF.com, with whom the purchase was made, continue to defer to Borderfree Inc. and attempt to absolve themselves of any responsibility. The disappointment of a botched up Christmas gift attempt behind us, this has become a ridiculous state of affairs as we are left out of pocket and with a long trail of emails between the two parties who are no closer to providing a solution. It seems that such experiences are more and more commonplace with Borderfree.
