I was extremely concerned about my two orders with Borderfree after reading the mass negative reviews online, but to my surprise the experience with them was relatively painless. I ordered from Adrianna Papell and Dr. Martens and both packages arrived on their expected delivery dates fully intact with the correct items, and were delivered to a PO box with no hassle - something which is pretty rare shipping from the US to rural Australia.

I was not charged twice like many other reviewers and the payment did not go through my PayPal until the package was shipped, as they describe on their website. I did call their toll-free helpline to get an update on my packages as they had sat being "submitted" for a week, and the person who I spoke to was quite helpful and nice despite being from an overseas call centre.

Other things I would keep in mind when shopping with Borderfree:
- It takes them a ridiculously long time to answer emails, you're better off calling.
- The time your order sits being "submitted" is included in the shipping time, it doesn't push back your delivery date like I thought it might have.
- I placed an order several months ago which sat being "processed" for a week before being cancelled, which I believe is due to the item going out of stock before Borderfree alerted the company in question of my order. Be wary that your order isn't really confirmed until it is "submitted".
- Borderfree's returns policy is complete bull. Pay extra attention to what you're ordering beforehand because there is no way you will ever get your full amount back doing a return.

Overall I think the key to having a decent shopping experience with Borderfree is more just keeping a very close eye on your order, and if anything seems a little off giving them a call. However, if you have the opportunity to use a local or more reputable shipping company I would go with them instead - I feel like using Borderfree is taking a risk on your order and there's about a 50/50 chance things will go to hell, I just got lucky!
