I did international shopping here. We asked for a certificate of international customs clearance and sent it to the service center, but it was not sent for more than three weeks. I wrote a Certificate of Origin and asked for a signature, but I was ignored. When you complete your purchase and payment, you no longer respond to customer questions. Because of that I paid more tariffs and got courier delivery. The foolish service center does not respond. At your request. I will not visit again.

Wow, such a terrible and incompetent customer service I've never experienced before. We have ordered a kettle which turned out to have a German electricity output and not a Swiss one. As we live in Switzerland, the prices were shown in CHF and no information regarding the output type was shown on the website we assumed the shop has Swiss- conform electrical devices. Nope, they don't.
We therefore kindly asked the shop to return the piece without extra shipping costs. The surprisingly unfriendly lady told us that we should invest EUR 2 to buy an adapter. After explaining again that there is no space for such adapters in our kitchen/at the power outlet she pretended to not understand and told us again to buy an adapter or we have to bear the return shipping costs of CHF 40 by ourselves.
Result: never again. There are way (!) better internet shops where you don't need to waste your time to deal with such people.
On August 26,2015 ordered 3 Bestlite BL9M lamps, order # *******. Prepaid on the same day. At time of order, website indicated availability time as "1 week". I only received one (1) out of three lamps 2 months later. At the time of posting this review (December 2,2015 - more than 3 months later), the other two lamps have not been delivered. Their customer support is virtually non-existent - You can spend hours waiting to get connected to their single customer support line. E-mails are routinely ignored. This is by far the worst online retailer I have ever come across. At best, they are utterly incompetent. At worst, they are simply a fraud and need to be put out of business.
We have ordered two Costanza Terra lamps. One of the packages had been opened and the lamp inside broken (the metal stem!) but they shipped it to us anyway! Tried to get in touch with Ambiente but none answers the phone. The emails are likewise not answered.
I ordered two items, paid over 900 Euros and received nothing. After dozens of unanswered emails and phone calls they finally promised me my money back. Another lie. I have been waiting for months! It is scandalous! I cannot believe they are still in business.

I ordered a shoe rack. Upon arrival it was damaged. I contacted them via email as instructed and nothing happened. I have now called multiple times and each time they say that I will be contacted via email shortly which they never do. Terrible costumer service.
Avoid it in any case. Its better to live with no lighting and furniture than to order them from that site.

Bought a sofa - Order AB*******
1. Delivery - Logistic Provider DHL delivered downstairs. Sofa-Package is 100 kgs heavy.
How do I put my sofa upstairs? This logistic conditions were not mentioned anywhere while buying. DHL replied that this is not because of the Corona Virus situation, but due to the logistic contract conditions between Ambiente Direct and DHL.
2. Sofa - Splitback Frej Package is devided in 3 Boxes. I received twice the same box, and I'm missing the box with the Rest arm support. I cannot assamble the sofa and I have doubled the sitting part.
- No Answer from Customer Service since a week
- They ask to send an email to open a case to solve the issue, they never find such email.
- I had to pay 250 CHF Customs, I hope I won't have to pay again customs once they send the missing part of the sofa.
If no answer, my company will report Ambiente Direct to the official customer complaint office of Germany.
Unacceptable.
IT's A SCAM
First time ever that I got scammed. The site looks very professional, they have all the niche-designers. I ordered a very expensive lamp. Got a professional e-mail my payment was received. Never heard from them again. It's now 2 months ago, lost my money, never got the product. All i got was a very high invoice from my cell phone, after trying to call them for half an hour.
Like everyone else on here I am appalled at the service I have received-I ordered my products over 2 months ago with a delivery time of 2 weeks. I chased to find out where they were-could never get through and when I did I always spoke to someone who couldn't help but said a collegue would call-they never did.
I then sent an email asking to cancel my order and provide a full refund-instead 4 weeks later I have received my items but one is the wrong item-can't get though and no one getting back to my emails-I cannot believe a business like this exists-especially for such high end goods.
I am still waiting for the 720 EUR refund of Tolomeo Parete Struttura Pergament and Tolomeo Mega shirm Satin I returned on the 6th of February. Delivery times were not respected and there was an error on the color (ordered white, received black). They pretend they never received the parcels (post tracking shows the parcels were delivered to them on the 18th of February). Customer service totally inefficient and unreachable most of the time. They don't answer emails. They're blaming COVID. I don't know if they are totally incompetents or if that is a scam. Order nr *******

The costumer service is horrible and unfortunately the orders are always delayed and even if you do manage to speak to someone, they are rude, unfriendly and are not aiming to keep the costumer satisfied.
I have called several times with 45 to 1 hour waiting time and when you ask the wrong questions, the agent hangs up to not answer them, it happened twice to me. Although we explained our situation, the company is not working for the people but rather to gain funds to survive or pay debts. THE CEO and founder, have no active social media/LinkedIn. This says enough about their lack of commitment to treat you with respect and to deliver your products.
Companies are seeking for compassion but what about us that spend money on new items from our hardworking money? What about our money and rights?
I trusted the company because it is German and I thought the law would protect me, apparently a bunch of $#*!s came together, started a company and made sure to scam people from all over the world without being accountable for it.
The agent that spoke to me started to scream, she was aggressive and very unprofessional. If you are in Europe and you can start a lawsuit, please come together and do so to stop them.

I have ordered two fatboy bean bags. I have fully paid using my CC. It took the packages about two months (!) to arrive. More than a year later they have contacted me claiming I have an open debit with them. I have checked and it seems that at some point (without my authorization and without me requesting it) they have mistakenly refunded one of the bags back to my CC. I have offered to pay back the original amount using my CC - and they refused. They claim they cannot accept CC at this point... they asked me to do money transfer to their account - I refused. Money transfer is the least trusted way to pay, it is not insured (like a CC or PayPal payment) and the JP Morgan Chase charges me $41 US fee for each wire transfer. So now I got an e-mail from them saying they will contact a collection agency. I welcome them to do so but would like to let anyone out there to know - beware - don't do any business with them. They fail to deliver on time and do not own their own mistakes.
Worst site I ever had. You should never try this. The stuff named Chloe Dias &Verena Englisch are so bad. They use your credit card while you don't know. They overcharge. Don't tell them your credit card number. If you already order, you must cancel it as soon aspossible!
No response to my mail, no response to phone calls, filed fraud report with paypal. Very scary site because purchases are costly since it's furniture site.
Ordered 2 items which should have been available in 2 weeks. 4 plus weeks later still listening to customer services saying they will probably be shipped next week. Customer Services couldn't care. They simply read off a screen saying items not yet available. If I ever get the goods it will be the last time ambiente get my service.
What should we do with AmbienteDirect.com?
It's probably my destiny I ordered something by this crooks-company. More interesting is that also Trusted Shops GmbH, whose quaility certificate those people have, doesn't make anything if you write them about unserious negotiations this company. The ultimate journey is refer to European Commission, European consumer center and ask them for the legal assistance. It's for free. I'm preparing the small claims procedure, applicable to all EU member states. Could you join me?:-)

Lying about not sent emails, not answering questions in emails, sent me a payment form to get hold of my cred card No, said they tried to charge me 7 times (although my account was filled with money).
Don't, don't, don't buy, even though their site looks good.
Avoid by all means possible. It might seem that their prices are lower but at the end you will pay a very high price for ordering from them. This is what happened to me:
- ordered over £2k worth of stuff. But once I paid no communication from them at all. I emailed them at least 10 times, sent them messages on Facebook (which they proceeded to block me), tweeted at them (which they closed down their account).
- I cancelled 2 items they said they didn't have in stock but haven't yet received a refund
- got the partial order delivered today and of course instead of what I paid for, they have shipped the cheaper smaller versions!
Complete scam. If you have also used them and been scammed, please report them to Facebook so that their page would be removed. I had seen their ads and page on FB which made me feel safe enough to use.

Answer: My order number is AB00006347 and I ordered my products 29.01.2015. 3 months later they finally respond to my countless e-mails and tell me one of the products is not available anymore and was wondering what to do about my order. I told them that I want to cancel my order and want a full refund, since I also paid my purchase in advance. A person called Mai Nguyen returned my e-mail on 14.05.2015 saying that they have cancelled my order and I will get a refund within 14 days. I posted a review on this site about Ambiente direct and then Christine D. Answered me that her colleague Mai is taking care of my case and I get my refund asap. Today is 17.07.2015 and still no refund. This is just the worst company ever! I did expect a German company to be trustworthy but no. Tell everyone not to have anything to do with these people!
Answer: The way I finally was able to get my issue was resolved was through messaging them on their Facebook page. I had ordered two light fixtures and was short shipped only one. After bringing up the mishap to them and getting no response, then filing a charge-back which was reversed because of the tracking number for the single light fixture that I was shipped I started reaching out to them on Facebook and after pestering them for a couple of months via Facebook they finally refunded me my money. Their Facebook admin was actually quite responsive. I would never order anything from this company again. It was a nightmare to deal with them. Good luck!
