I am most certainly a fan of this store. They have a great selection of products, which I love. In the past, I have purchased cotton camisoles/tank tops. The cotton quality was robust and soft on the skin, a real treat in the winter. However, as in everything these days, the quality of the material the new camisoles are manufactured with is quite flimsy and most certainly not worth the same price. Unfortunately, the store brand is watered down. Also, word to the wise: when looking at food items that are on sale, ask or look closely at the expiration date. I bought some biscuits yesterday, and now I am stuck with 4 packs that I can't possibly consume before the end of April!
The former high-quality standards have dropped considerably. I bought some very expensive Mozart chocolates right before the holidays and when they arrived they were hard and starting to change color: dark chocolate should not start getting a Dusty white look or feel hard. I complained and I haven't heard a word since. Their quality after many years of buying from it, has significantly diminished. Customer service is non-existent when they ignore an email about the poor quality. Every chocolate is the same way.
Was very disappointed with my purchase of the Christmas Pudding. I thought it's gonna be the same as the Christmas pudding that my nephew brought home from a trip in England about 2 years ago.
This one tasted okay initially, but immediately turned out with a "waxy" aftertaste; not sure what is was initially but I was able to remove a white waxy sediment from behind my lower gums. I reviewed the ingredients and saw "glycerine" as one of the ingredients and upon looking it up online, I found that some bakers use glycerine in their recipe to keep their cakes moist. I followed the directions for heating it up using the microwave but it still "precipitated", for a lack of a better word, which resulted in my tasting the weird additive (glycerine)
Although 'nice' and 'folksy' describe the customer service of this company, having to wait 2 weeks or longer on orders is disappointing. Just not competitive when it comes to entering an order then shipping it out.
I was given a gift of a jacket, wrong size. Returned for correction and received no notification after a few weeks, Tracking showed received by VCS. Called a few times before someone answered after very long wait times. Verified return, said replacement mailed on a given date and would be arriving in 7 to 10 business days. More weeks and no item. Finally a request for additional payment when card data was listed on return form. Questioned again and extremely rude attitude. Supposedly refund was issued, will have to check before filing a claim with ICC. Fairly expensive for Chinese made products anyway.
So, I've been trying to reach you for two days...only so long I'll hold on...you are not providing customer service at all and you should rewrite your "bill of rights" for customers...to say..."customer should expect and GET quality/fast service"...and by the way...a customer really doesn't like to hear "old timey" advertisements while holding...and holding...and holding...only to hear the same ole dribble about "we love our customers...just hold on for a little bit more"...shows us you have absolutely no respect for your customer base...
They have no problem taking orders/money. They DO NOT answer the phone.
The product I bought was too small and shipped without a return shipping label. For the prices they charge, it may be time to close the door and hang it up. At least with LL Bean you get consistent service and customer service when you need it. They'd get 0 stars if I could give it. As much as I dislike writing bad reviews...It seems many are dissatistfied!
I have been waiting for my refund for weeks. I finally received an email that it was processed. After a week, still no refund on my card. I contacted the company, and was told they changed systems so my credit card info was deleted. A check had been sent. I asked how much longer I would have to wait, and I was told to please be patient with the postal service. I called back to see if there was a tracking number. I also asked if they could cancel the check and overnight a new one. I was told the finance supervisor said they could cancel my check but it would cast ME $30. Horrible customer service. No common sense. Absolutely zero concern for the customer. And, that ridiculous conversation when on hold. Keeping my fingers crossed that I'll receive my refund!
I received a damaged item and reported it. I was told my account would be credited and no need to return the item. Despite reminding them THREE TIMES, I still have not received the credit. I'm done. I could have gotten the same item from Amazon for half the price. I am disappointed because I have been a loyal customer for many years.
We stopped into Rockingham store recently on a weekday morning. Only a couple other customers but many workers out, maybe 8 visible. My husband and I browsed separately. He and I exchanged notes on the strange, unfriendly, unhelpful, unreactive and avoidant or uncomfortable vibe of everyone there afterwards. I understand wanting to allow the customer space to enjoy the retro atmosphere in peace. Thank you. But when a customer leaves a store thinking they mightve done something wrong, theres a problem. We spent 80 bucks. A typical amount for a visit there as Ive been there on a couple very crowded days before. They do have neat stuff, however, first item I looked at was a metal ball shower ring set made in China. I looked at the price, 15 dollars. I'm sorry but, I dont support crappy business ethics anymore..
They charge $20.00 for base level UPS shipping on a $139.00 clothing item a week before Christmas.
The item wasn't even close to fitting body length and sleeve length. I tried calling and sat on hold for 2o plus minutes listening to their down home old fashion messaging. No one answered customer service emails. I sent the item back. It was over two weeks before I received a confirmation of their receipt. Again I had tried calling and reaching customer service earlier.
They finally issue an item credit minus a $7.32 restocking fee?
Won't do business again with them and I have only just started recounting my experience on social. Media.
I had purchased my second leather handbag from the Vermont Country Store. After one year one of the metal feet fell off. I sent it back hoping they could return it to the manufacturer to improve the design. Gratefully the Vermont Country Store fully reimbursed me for the handbag. I really appreciated their backing of their product!
I kept getting a notification that I had an invalid credit card. I called the bank and the credit card was good. I called 4 times and finally ended up with customer service which had to redo the whole order. It was time consuming and frustrating. I won't be ordering from them again.
I bought ajumper for 71.00 whch was described as being of high quality denim and beautiful stenciling. It is fast fashion quality: four washings and it will shred. They say they have products form the US and this is form India. Customer service representative hung up on me.
My daughter sent me a bathing suit for my birthday in April. It was too small and I wanted a different color. I returned the suit and was told the color I wanted would not be available until Sept. At first I accepted that. Then I decided to order a different style that was available. The salesperson said she didn't know how to do that and she would have someone call me who could help. Several days later I received a message on my voice mail with a return phone number. When I dialed the number, I got a commercial for a " "health device". My second attempt to call that number, I got a commercial for Direct TV.
Since then, I've tried to call the number in the catalog only to wait for over a half hour each time before I gave up, never reaching h a person. I am really Mad!
I love their Bathing Suits. They last forever in chlorine pools. But their customer service sucks!
I ordered a watch and they sent me the wrong one. 100% their fault. I had to pay for the return shipping label, which in my opinion, they should have refunded me for, since it was their screw-up. They gave me a refund for the watch, but wouldn't refund the shipping. Very poor customer service, which is a shame, since I love their selection of items.
I purchased and was charged for an item on November 6. When it arrived on November 8, the products were bad. I called customer service and they sent me a prepaid return label. The items were returned by USPS on November 13 and I was given a tracking number by the Vermont Country Store. The items went from USPS to UPS almost 2 weeks ago according to their customer service. I was told it would be 2-3 weeks before I received my almost $100 credit after I handed it off to the USPS. It has now been over a month and I still don't have a credit. I have called and spoken to a "live" person 3 times and called today as well. I was told that they couldn't help me and they would pass my message onto someone and that it would be 24-48 hours before someone would call me back. I was disconnected twice from their online chat after demanding my money be credited back. I have had to dispute the charge on my credit card because I don't have the product and they will not credit my account.
Can never get a hold of anyone. Poor customer service. No response on phone or email. No idea how I would try to return the item. We are done with you
In our experience, Vermont Country Store does a great job of selecting and offering top-grade products. Better yet, on those very rare occasions when the products are not up to their (or our) standards, they unhesitatingly stand behind them.
These are excellent people to do business with.
Ordered on line. Have to return product as way too big for a medium. They dont answer the phone. Kept me on hold for over 20 minutes before i gave up repeating folksy messages how they would answer soon. Finally "chatted" from the website. It was a hassle also. They couldnt just email me a label I could print. Had to use snail mail. Then they sent a catalogue! I am trying to get off their mailing lists. Decades ago this was a great place. No longer. Overpriced as well. Dont waste your tie,
