I had a terrible experience with Uber Eats. After my order was canceled, I tried to get a refund, but their customer service was unhelpful and unresponsive. It was incredibly frustrating to deal with such poor support. Overall, the lack of assistance and the inconvenience have made me decide not to use their service again
My order was mixed up and I ended up not receiving it. They refused to give me a refund. I spend $32 and did not receive anything. I would not recommend Uber Eats to anyone.
I placed an order from a restaurant that was still showing as open on the Uber Eats app. When I arrived for pickup, the staff came to the door and told me they had already closed at 11 PM. Nothing was going to be made, and they instructed me to cancel the order — they even said this was a glitch in the app and that it happens often. I followed their instructions and canceled the order, assuming that would be the end of it. No food, no service — obviously, no charge. But instead, Uber Eats still took my money. Their so-called "support" team sent me a lazy, copy-paste message saying the order was "accepted," so I wouldn't be getting a refund or even credit — completely ignoring the fact that the store was closed, the order was never started, and I left empty-handed. I even have dashcam footage showing the restaurant staff coming to my car to explain what happened — and immediately after, I placed another order at a different, actually open restaurant. Let's be clear: this isn't a customer mistake. This is a platform failure. Uber Eats knowingly allowed orders to go through from a closed restaurant. Then instead of owning the error, they doubled down and kept the money — like it's no big deal. Zero accountability. Zero fairness. Absolutely no customer care. Uber Eats has turned into a complete gamble — you're risking your money every time you place an order, and if something goes wrong (which it often does), you're stuck with their robotic, useless support team who won't lift a finger to fix it. Avoid this app unless you enjoy being scammed and ignored. Disgraceful.
I ordered Peet's coffee and canceled 1 second after, they charged me full price., and said was cancellation fee. 37$ cancelation fee. I deleted and will never order Uber eats again.
I placed an order for Burger and Fries and the system defaulted to my work address. I repeatedly messaged the driver and phoned him to let him know that I was at my home address. The driver who needs to learn more English if he hopes to communicate effectively with customers couldn't seem to understand what I was telling him. When he repeated my address I had hoped he would then deliver what would have been a cold meal. He said ok and then I was notified that he marked that he delivered the meal and my account was charged. Needless to say I will never use this service again.
Scammers who charged for cancelling an order when their driver was stuck in the same location. I canceled the order and they are refusing to refund me. I didn't receive my order, the driver was not answering but somehow it's my fault. By the way their cancellation reasons are exactly the same reasons I canceled my order, it's reasonable for them but not for me.
As long as i live i will never use that app again, my son used my card one time to get food and i guess it was a membership. I looked on my card and 5 months for 9.99 each was taken out. First of all you can only chat and its very difficult to get to chat. Finally got to chat and they basically was rude and said they have other people to speak with and disconnected me. I lost 50 dollars for service i never used. Plus they said they cant take my card off file. I should reach out to my bank.
I never received my order, because the driver couldn't understand English and therefore couldn't read directions. And the customer service phone number doesn't even work anymore. The only option is to chat online with incompetent bots. They said the driver didn't follow instructions, but THEY were the ones who hired someone who doesn't know English. And they had the nerve to tell me they couldn't refund my tip to the driver who never even showed up. How sleazy is that?! I didn't trust them to refund any of my money, so I just called my bank to have the charges reversed. Save yourself some money and aggravation, and just pick up your food. Don't waste ONE PENNY on Uber Eats - they do NOT deserve it.
I'm deleting the app and switching to postmates. They keep messing up orders; today I have no sauce on my poke bowl, no sauce on the side (I ordered it on the side because the menu gave that option, the driver could have seen it was missing), not even a soy sauce packet; it's not edible and they only gave a $5 app credit. For how expensive it is, it's no okay. I'm also still frustrated because last week, my order took 2 hours to come instead of the quoted 25 minutes, the food was completely cold, so cold it was disgusting and I didn't have access to a microwave and they offered a $6 credit on a $35 meal, I had to throw it away because it was so cold it definitely sat out for at least an hour if not longer and I didn't want to get sick. Unacceptable.
I recently had a terrible experience with Uber Eats due to their app malfunctioning. My order went through three times instead of once, causing duplicate charges. I canceled the first two orders within five minutes, well before the restaurant started preparing them. I even called Sushi Circle in Fulham, who confirmed they had not begun making the food and assured me they would notify Uber Eats to issue a refund.
Despite this, Uber Eats has still charged me for both canceled orders, leaving me with a £111 charge for just one £37 order that I actually received. This is completely unacceptable and violates Uber Eats' own terms and conditions, which state that if an order is canceled before the restaurant starts preparing it, a refund should be issued.
Uber Eats' customer service has been completely unhelpful, refusing to take responsibility despite clear evidence from the restaurant. Their unfair and misleading policies leave customers out of pocket for errors caused by their own app. I will be disputing this charge with my bank and would strongly warn others to be cautious when using Uber Eats.
As Uber Eats' customer service team will not help me resolve this issue and I am unable to speak to a representative from Uber Eats over the phone, despite requesting they call me a number of times. I will have no choice but to escalate the matter further, including disputing the charge with my bank and reporting it to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and Citizens Advice, as this appears to be an unfair business practice.
To make matters worse 'nhaide' from customer serviced claimed on the evening of the cancelled orders that they could 'confirm' that I wasn't charged by Sushi Circle for the cancelled orders though I was still then charged.

In general, Uber eats charges premium fees for barely mediocre service but when you are feeling lazy and don't want to get your own food are usually tolerable. The food usually gets there, and it is mostly correct. I have never left a review good (frankly that has only happened once) or bad (all the other times) but last night was the worst and I thought that a company like uber which makes such a big deal about service couldn't possibly be aware of how bad the actual service was performing so reached out with a complaint. The food was to be delivered by 6:30 the latest with an estimated actual delivery time of 6:25. I then received an alert from the app the food was ready and had been picked up at 6:08. The restaurant is straight shot 5 miles away down a very little trafficked rural road with no stoplights and a 45MPH speed limit so about 15 minutes seemed correct. About 2-3 minutes later I received an update that the delivery schedule had changed and it would now be delivered at 6:50 with a latest of 6:55. That now means my food was going to sit in a car for a minimum of over 40 minutes for what is a 10-15 minute drive. 20 minutes later the estimated delivery time was now 6:56 (the latest time of 6:55 never changed) then i would get updates every couple of minutes that it was later and later. The food finally arrived between 7:15-7:20 approximately 70 minutes after it left the restaurant. The fries were cold but also so soggy reheating was not an option. The burgers were ice cold (ironically the sodas were warm) and with the topping soaking through buns when you touched the buns they were so soggy they disintegrated. All food was inedible, so we threw it out made dinner at home. Uber eats acknowledged all the facts above were accurate and that I spent $73 on food that could not be eaten and was delivered almost an hour late. They offered a $16 credit which barely covered the mandatory fees (~15$). The mandatory fees (higher than all other comparable services) and voluntary tip I left my.49 delivery fee turned into $25 just in fees and tip. Mandatory fee was approximately 50% higher than tip. I will never use this service again and would caution others against using it and expecting positive results.
I am warning everyone to avoid Uber Eats. It is full of false promotions. They let businesses like Fresh Slice, etc fool people by ads like buy one, get the second one for free. And when you realize that's been a scam and cancel in less than 2-5 minutes, they charge you almost the full amount. Not reliable at all. Call the restaurant if it has delivery, otherwise, do not order. I was so embarrassed in front of a group of students the other day.
I was in Seattle recently with my son. Decided to order Uber Eats on my app. Found restaurant in area to order pizza from. Wanted to order a large pepperoni pizza with feta cheese and was quoted $36 US plus 49 cents delivery on the app. Then the total 'magically' changed to $55 US. Decided to try to cancel immediately then was informed on app I couldn't because I'd be charged $36 US. Called the restaurant and they told me they would call Uber to sort this out and Uber would be contacting me. Uber didn't and I tried to get this fixed on my app myself but I was unsuccessful and frustrated. I even took pics of the pizza which was totally wrong, cold and arrived very late. Uber has the pics of the screwed up order in their system. It is very upsetting about those extra hidden dielivery/service charges. If Uber was upfront and mentioned this at the time of ordering I would not have ordered. No one in their right mind would pay $55 US for a large pepperoni pizza! DO NOT USE UBER EATS
My coworker had ordered food but at the wrong location and then spoke to customer service online to cancel. Immediately after asking them if it could be cancelled, they cancelled without awareness and charged a 70% fee. So we had a fee of $50 out of a $70 order due to a 3 minutes late cancellation. That is insane! Especially the fact that we did not get warned by it prior to cancelling - so we may have a chance to keep the order. I then tried to reach someone about it and they ended my communication stating they can not do anything about it. I asked if there is anyway I may suggest in the future the people should be made aware of what the cost is for cancellation regardless if is 2 mins or 30 mins later. They said to contact them next time prior to cancelling - Which I then responded that WE did, they then proceeded to not respond or end the conversation. We then contact over the phone and they said it was recorded line and once we said we would record as well, they disconnected the line! IM SHOOK!
Emailing me promo codes that don't work and then it's impossible to message support about it? What useless company...won't bother again
Absolutely worst food delivery service out there. Poorest customer service ever. Issues never get resolved. Tried via email, chat and phone! Nearly $50 on food that sat on a shelve in the restaurant ready for over two hours. This food is no longer safe to eat! Three different delivery people and it still took over two hours. Complaining was ZERO help and they refused to refund. Said I'd hear back from an escalation department. Never did! Money wasted. Will never use them again! Crooked company.
The delivery driver went to the wrong address so my food wasn't delivered, Uber eats refusing refund, making me pay for drivers incompetence. Customer service non existent automated generic messages. No matter what the issue Uber eats won't give refund, leaving their customers to pay for their mistakes. It's cruel making someone wait for food that never comes then making you pay for it. I hope Karma comes knocking for Uber eats. Avoid this company if the driver makes a mistake your food won't be delivered but you will still pay for it.
Overcharge on anything and everything. Starting from the free meal that it suppose its free, you pay like $8. Supermarket they add like 30% extra on every item.
I logged in to my account and for some reason it registered a different address then my home. This was a $200 order. I immediately called the company and cancelled with uber within 3 minutes of ordering. I called the restaurant and they directed me to cancel and reorder with correct address. 2 weeks later, I am reconciling accounts and see they charged me almost $400 that day for the ONE order that I received. I called to resolve with customer service and they say there is nothing they can do. They can clearly see the order was cancelled immediately. They could verify with Sonnys that they did not make both orders. They could do anything but they did nothing except stole $200 from a loyal customer. Beware. These people are thieves!
PS They don't give your tip directly to drivers, they use it as their hourly wage and compensate if they do not make enough from tips. Talk about a scam. They are using us to pay their labor. Complete crock of $#*!.
Bunch of scammers. I ordered food from a restaurant that didnt turn up. When i contacted the restaurant i found that it was a new business and that the restaurant was no longer there. Customer support on Uber Eats refused to cancel the order and then when i was charged refused to refund me. I was a loyal user spending alot of money with uber and now will be taking my account offline and also closing my company accounts too. They do not car about customer service and they are stealing your money.
I cannot believe that you allow a company to accept deliveries that are no longer in business. This has left a truly sour taste in my mouth with a refusal you are willing to lose a customer? Such a shame.
I ordered in good faith to only find out that the restaurant is no longer there and you wont investigate.
