Bought wife a gift cert for birthday. Not emailed despite calling to verify order. Then called customer service. Non English speaking useless help. Called ba k next day, given big apology line and a 25% off for issue, but when went to order discount not good for many items. After reading these other reviews I guess they don't seem to care.
These guys can't get their house in order. Tried over a month to get the clothing I ordered on-line. Five phone calls later, nobody seemed to know if it was back-ordered or in stock. Kept getting different stories. But never got the clothing. What a disaster. Would never, ever buy anything from them again.
Ordered $85 worth of clothing. After 3 weeks never received. After spending one hour on the phone with three levels of people I was finally promised a refund by a supervisor. This did not happen. My instincts tell me they are not longer trustworthy. I wonder if this is a scam. Do they have new owners who are now unscrupulous? Are they going out of business. Years ago I would have highly recommended them. Now I say caution stay away!
They are currently doing a monthly travel essay contest. In four months, there has only been one winner. I am starting to suspect this is about getting emails for advertising purposes and not actually submitting something that might win. Emails to Travelsmith and the judging magazine have not been acknowledged or answered.
Don't both submitting an essay in the hopes of winning, something is wrong here.
This is a great company. If you ever have to return something, they are quick to refund. I recently purchased something from their competitor, Magellans, which I returned and it took 2 phone calls and six weeks before I saw the credit even though I had tracking information and a signature. Never again. I will always buy from Travelsmith for this type of merchandise.
To be succinct, they need to revamp their shipping fees. With Amazon, Macy's, etc. allowing free or free with minimum purchase, Travelsmith makes more money on shipping than product mark ups. (Not quite, but a $40 item and shipping $8.00 is out of line)
This is the most difficult site I have ever had to work with. Never, never use their gift certificates. If you get one, buy something and then exchange it they credit the original gift certificate, which you have long since thrown away as used. No other company I have ever dealt with does this. Usually they just issue a new certificate with the amount of credit you are due. So avoid travelsmith... their shipping costs are usurious and their service is awful. I was given incorrect certificate numbers. Finally we were able to use the money we were due, but trust me... NEVER go to this site.
Used to be a great clothing company. Not anymore. Their sizing chart is WAY OFF THE CHARTS. Ordered the Foxcroft stand collar women's shirt in cranberry. They were asking $89. Finally offered 50% off. They put white buttons on a cranberry shirt for $89. I ordered Size 16 and it fits me. Also ordered the Boyfriend Turtleneck in black, Size 16-18 - the measurements seemed to fit mine - BUT, the XL would fit a woman who weighs 300 lbs. It's voluminous! See pictures below. I will never buy from TravelSmith again. I hope they go out of business as I cannot exchange the black boyfriend sweater for a Medium - which is the size that would fit me. Unscrupulous business.
Purchased a couple of vests. Sent them back to exchange for different sizes. Did not receive the items. Cancelled my order and asked for a refund. Customer service said they already refunded me and will not issue another refund. It's now 4 months later and still no refund. Will never order from this company again. What a bunch of scumbags. Time to get VISA involved and let them go after these jerks.
Contacted customer service for money back on a travel smith adventure bag. The bag is poorly designed and never fit my needs. Got the response that they could not help me at all. I will NEVER buy from them. They have deceptive practice for guarantee, not truthful.
They have clothing designed for travel. However, much of it is not suitable for the way I travel, which is low budget. I don't have much use, for example, for nice dresses, suit jackets, or fancy shawls. It seems like that in recent years they are catering more to business/cruise/high-end travelers. I used to find more practical clothes that were easy to wash in a hotel sink. I still occasionally find something I can use, though. Their quality is generally good although occasionally fabric is kind of unpleasant-feeling. They're very good about returns.
I love to shop at TravelSmith.com. They offer great sales pretty much all of the time. I've never bought anything there at full price. The quality of their clothing is outstanding. Their customer service is among the best you can find anywhere. They go out of their way to help you. TravelSmith.com delivers on time and to your door. If you want or need to return something, they are easy to work with. It's wonderful to find a store with a real dedication to customer service. It helps me shop with confidence.
Placed an order but after a week, status was still in process. When you call, you are placed on hold. There must be only one person who works in customer service because you are placed on a queue which goes down 1 at a time. When I spoke to someone about my order-they told me it was held up because items were on back order & there was no telling when it would ship. I needed 2 items for a trip so I ordered them. Well, they lied because my new order & the previous order both shipped on the same day. This company just wanted me to order & charge me for shipping. Please be careful when ordering from them because you are much better off going to Amazon. These guys are the WORST!
I called to ask them about a women's pants that didn't show where the waistline was and it didn't online either. I was on hold for 6 minutes and discovered that they have now shipped their customer service out of the country. I won't deal with companies that do that. No one knew the answer to my question. I have used them for more than 20 years. Never again.
When the jacket arrived, it was not suitable. Although all their ads proclaim "100% Guarantee" and "Free Exchanges" that does NOT include returns. TravelSmith charged me $11.95 just to send me the jacket via VERY SLOW mail, then charged me another $6.95 to return it. An "exchange" is not the same as a "return" under their policy. I have no idea what their "100% Guarantee" is guaranteeing. Close to $20 for a service LL Bean and others provide for free.
All the emails I receive from Travelsmith.com say "free shipping ends tonight ". I placed an order where I also received 40% off. There was nothing on the website, or it was in tiny print and weLL hidden, that said anything about not qualifying for free shipping if you also used the discount. So I spent over $200 and was charged $15 plus for shipping. Customer service refused to refund the shipping cost. I don't deal with deceptive companies. Site also says free exchanges but fails to mention "returns" will cost you. So beware, you only get one deal from them, free shipping or a discount, not both. And if you don't like the merchandise and are not exchanging it, it will cost you postage.
I ordered an "above the knee" dress in medium. When it arrived, it was way too large and fell several inches below my knees. I am 5'4" tall. The catalog model must have been 5'10" or more for the dress to have been so high above her knees. I decided I had to return the dress. I noted that by using the return label they enclosed, they would deduct nearly $8 from my refund. I called the company to complain about these return charges as I felt the photo and description of the dress were deceptive. The company "service" person was obviously very annoyed, but agreed that I would not be charges for the return postage. I just received notice of my refund. They deducted $18.14 from my refund. This is a terrible company and deserves to be put out of business.
Extremely disappointed in their customer service. I returned a shipment of clothes four weeks ago worth $267. They've only refunded me $26. When calling customer service they tell me it will be four days until they can get back to me with their investigation. I smell something very sour.
It is not worth doing business with this company. Their shipping charges are the highest possible for the slowest service. They also do not keep their word. I was promised upgraded shipping so an item would get to me before I left on my trip. They did not do what they said and therefore the item will not be arriving in time. I'm done with this company.
I returned several items to TravelSmith in October 2016. Two months later, I still had not seen the refund for those items on my credit card statement so I sent TravelSmith an e-mail. They responded that the refund was issued on October 29,2016. I asked them to double-check and they wrote back to confirm it was issued on that date. I have NOT received the refund and TravelSmith seems content to (1) lie and then (2) do nothing further. It's a shameful way to run a company. After years of purchasing from them, I'm done.

If not do so and if person you get connected to won't help cause she can't have her connect you to a manager.
