Such a laid back site. One item was damaged and they refunded my account right away. No hassle. Have been happy with the items I have ordered!
Generally good service and products, however 40% arrive late or not at all. A few were in fact were not what was advertised, but for the price I paid, acceptable. Some arrive damaged due to poor packaging or being abused by delivery agents or USPS. Also vendors that purport their product to be genuine or natural, especially in jewelry category, are, in fact, synthetic, man made, or lab created.
I love this sight but lately not so loving I'm not receiving deliveries of my products purchased. I love my money but I prefer my purchased items better
I love the concept of the site, unfortunately it is just a poorly executed business. There is basically zero customer service. The sellers are not held accountable. If they send your items to the wrong address (usually it's even the wrong state, and this does happen often) basically they will give you tophatter credits or take forever getting you back your actual money. A lot of times you order something and the seller can just take the option that maybe that item didn't sell for as much as they like so they can just cancel your order and issue a refund no questions asked. That's not ok. The consumer bids on it to win it, that is the purpose; to get things cheaply. NEEDS A CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT! You are unable to truly contact anyone at tophatter and maybe they will respond to your emails within a month. Some of the items are cheap garbage, but some are actually very good.
I am on this app every day all day long. Been buying all my Christmas and birthday gifts. This is the best app to be biding on, lots of great stuff.
Tophatter is a good site. There are some things that can be improved like when you've won a bid that has different colors, teams, or sizes, there should be an EASIER way to make those choices BEFORE FINAL paymemt commitment screen appears. There is NO option for this so you end up having to cancel or not being satisfied with your order. Also, the complimentary credit that is given is not often enough or long enough. Sometimes people aren't able to bid right at that moment so they miss through opportunity to utilize that option. MOST sellers are OVERSEAS so your wait time is PROLONGED or you're given a CREDIT to compensate for the fact that your item(s) were cancelled FOR you. More DOMESTIC sellers are needed or FASTER delivery i. E. 2wk MAX window. This is because the item(s) could be special occasion gifts which could be within that 2wk window. Finally, Customer Support should be available through online chat, a phone number, as well as email within a few hour time period, these are conviences in which customers and potential customers alike SHOULD have access to. Outside of these things Tophatter is a GREAT experience.
As the old saying goes--you get what you pay for, other than the money (coins and silver certificates) -- you get exactly what you pay for! I've been very pleased with ALL of the items I've purchased and in no way feel as I've been taken. :)
Customer service sucks been asking for refund on product I ordered for over a month with no reply back but they say they will email me but never have. Had issue with delivery sayid product was delivered but never was went to postal carrier said it was delivered at wrong address yet was addressed to me yet no response from tohatter about the shipper screwing it up I just wanted my product I ordered before Xmas yet no reply in over a month of messages. Really frustrating I spent my money and they act like its my fault the shipper messed up I now just want my money back and will probably stop using them if they can't rectify me the problem before xmas. Very disappointing.
I've ordered several things some I never got and most looked like cheap dollar store items. The clothing is horrid. Rings look look nice in photos but when you get them they look like gumball machine rings. Takes months to get things. And most sellers are not good with communication.

I am going to dedicate one of my Youtube channels letting people know which companies to stay away from... TopHatter being one my top five losers. With well over 100 wins, 75% actually turned out to be a nightmare. They use Covid19 for taking so long to get back to you, yet thats to buy time because all my attempts had not been answered as of yet. Recently I received a $9 dollar order that was missing 28 pieces of 31. I was told to return the 3 pieces to China in order to receive a refund. FINE... I will not stop exposing this company until all my orders are completed and I'm refunded for all the late/lost orders. All I have is time. I don't want others to experience what I've experienced buying from TopHatter. It's now the principal!
I started using this site in August getting ready for Christmas the items I have bidded on thought was good for gifts for kids. I have received some items and been happy with purchases but on the other hand I seem to have more refunds than goods so had to find extra money to find gifts that was waiting for and still had nothing. Once had all refunds back I won't be using again
This is no better than wish. I ordered a 4x shirt for hubby and it came as European size. Nothing in the ad about being European! And I paid good money for it! Over 40.00 bucks. Not returnable! Scam! Doesn't deserve any stars.
I'm still visiting and bidding but getting super concerned since half my orders have either been refunded or no shows.
I won a lot of bids I planned to use as Christmas gifts but instead received emails stating refund notifications not one but almost half my bids. It seemed to be mostly on the bus I won for a dollar or two. I sent Tophatter an email to switch my refund credit to my credit card and am still waiting for a response. So it's not Tophatter itself but the businesses that make this a low rating.

Was doing good with my Christmas shopping then boom we pay for product wait for them them bam refund because they just don't ship don't send tracking number, whatever reason. No phone to call everything through text. Now it's last minute we can't order to receive on time for Christmas & out of work due to pandemic. But here we are with a credit not doing any good for someone missing they're gift. Think I'm about done now that Christmas is about to be over don't like waiting on packages I paid for rely on and may or may not show up. Yeah I'll stick to physically shopping and receiving my product when I pay. Lot of money spent here in 2 months to sit waiting in limbo for a package that may come but may not. And it takes too long for a response when requesting info about an order. But don't pay your invoice right away cause your chasing a 2 yr old they message you 20x, but when you request info on items that say you received everyday for a week that you haven't received they tell you that's the reason they haven't gotten back to you because you can't send more than 1 message about a problem. Even though it says response within 24 hrs & it's been over a week? So it's nice you the blame customer for the lack of a response from your representative to solve an issue on products they paid for and haven't received and have been inquiring about for a week. Great service Tophatter great job.
This has got to be the worst online shopping experience I have ever had.
Nothing arrives like descriptions or pictures, the quality is awful, all from China and probably unfit for UK consumers! Tophatter should be shutdown or investigated by the consumers watchdogs. 0 out of 5 stars, but have to put 1.

When I started on with this site it was, interesting, fun, some good items and prices, some stuff not so good. I have been a firm believer you get what you pay for. I have been sending messages to get some info on some items won, and i am not getting anything back. I would have a very hard time recommending this site at this time.
I like TOPHATTER and its deals, but I have so many orders that are late or missing that I am concerned if I am going to even get them by Christmas. I have 1 order that was due on Dec 4th 2020 it says it was delivered on the 6th and I have not received it. I contacted customer service and I have still not heard from them. My orders are all Christmas and if i do not receive them I have nothing for my family because of the money I have spent on TOPHATTER.
The company has the potential to a great company. They need to monitor their vendors more and solve the wait process.
There are too many bad Venders that Tophatter allows to rip off their costumers. And really bad to ZERO customer service.
THE SCAM: You purchase an item and certain Venders will send you a garbage cheaper version or only part of an order (ie: a 31 cleaning brush set where I only received 3 out of the 31 pieces. Same item TWICE by TWO SEPARATE VENDERS!), then Tophatter will want you to go repackage it and pay for postage after having to go all the way to the Post Office in order to send it back for a "refund" that you "may get" ONLY if the Seller agrees that it is in the "Same condition that it was sent to you". All of this is to return something like an $8 item. Because "Yes", and they know that most people will not waste their time and more of their money, so they get away with ripping you off.
Attached is just "some" of the examples of what was advertised and what I REALLY got:
1. I purchased a cute "Baby Groot" pencil holder/planter.
2. A Motorized Remote Projection Screen (What they sent me was nothing more than a cheap white painters tarp and nothing else).
3. A Pikachu Deadpool figurine Size: 9X9X14cm (what they sent was a keychain)
4. A nice skull ring (what they sent was chromed garbage)
Don't get me wrong though, because some of the items are wonderful, it's just that the negative here is out weighing the good. As the bad list goes on and on.

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.

Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
