Sundance Catalog has garnered a mixed reputation among customers, with some appreciating the aesthetic appeal of their products and catalog. However, a significant number of reviews highlight persistent issues regarding product quality, particularly discrepancies between advertised and received items. Customers frequently express frustration over delayed shipping, cumbersome return processes, and unresponsive customer service. Many report long wait times for refunds and inadequate support when problems arise. Overall, while the brand has a loyal customer base, the growing concerns about service reliability and product quality suggest a need for improvement in customer care and operational efficiency.

I placed an order and sent it all back weeks ago. Still do not have a refund. I understand if it's Xmas but not any other time. Makes me not want to order anymore from this company
The prices are above average, the shipping is ridiculous, the quality of the clothing/fabric was cheap, the sizing is not consistent. I know this sounds negative or exaggerated, but I have nothing good to say about my one and only experience. I ordered April 4, and it took 2 months to complete my order. I ordered 6 items, all in the exact same size - and was able to keep 2. One was too small and the others were much too large. Not only do you pay to have the stuff shipped to you, you pay the same price to return something - $7.95! Take me off your mailing list, Sundance!
Awful return policy. It's all done by snail mail, even the paper you put back in the box. No way will I ever order from here again, Hey, Barefoot in the Park, get your shipping/receiving/returns folks on board and get this crap moving!
I ordered from a few different catalogs in advance of a trip with plenty of time for things to arrive. Everything came in quickly except a skirt I ordered from Sundance. I almost didn't order it since I've never ordered from them before and it was $$$, but it looked nice and I thought I'd give them a shot. After many calls to the company since you can't track your order online they only answer is they lost it in the warehouse and they'd ship it that day. Three days later it did finally ship, they said it would be here Saturday it's Tuesday and the Fedex tracking looks like I might actually get it. I leave tomorrow and after reading these reviews I worrying the quality will not be worth the wait or the headache. At least the refunded my shipping.
I have been on on and off again customer of Sundance for years. Have had many poor experiences, some good, but recently all bad. I ordered a $600 pair of boots that arrived and were 2 different sizes and the sole of the boots were uneven. The boot itself was gorgeous, but unfortunately made improperly. The packaging of the boot itself was horrible, yet Sundance charges a fortune for shipping. Then I have to be bothered to return defective boots that should have never been shipped to begin with. To add insult to injury I took time to write a review per Sundance's request and my review got rejected!
You send items back and it takes about 4 weeks for them to even acknowledge the return. This is a higher end catalog, but it needs much improvement in customer service. Even Amazon has a better return system!
Was ready to order $68 tee shirt (color me stupid) when I noticed the shipping charge would be $13.95. Ridiculous! I don't mind reasonable shipping charges, but I don't want to be robbed. BTW, Banana Republic is free coming and going.
I ordered a shirt for my MIL's birthday. Ordered it on a Sunday and paid $18 shipping (which was the standard shipping cost). It shipped on Monday and is not expected to be delivered until not this Friday, but the following Friday... customer service was not helpful either. Won't order again...
I ordered what they call a tiny treasure cup. $15 which added up to $21 with shipping. It looks like a five year old made it. It's supposed to have colored crazing on the bottom of it. This one had a speck of paint in the side of the thing. So bad I threw it away. I am one busy woman and have no time to hassle shipping it back and getting dealing with poor customer service. I simply will not ever purchase from Sundance catalog again! Lesson learned.
I received three sundance leggings as a gift for christmas and they were the wrong size so I decided to return them and exchange for different items. Well not only did Sundance "only receive two (out of three) leggings" they REFUNDED the credit card instead of the GIFT CARD that I EXPLICITLY stated in the return form.
So now I am MORTIFIED because my aunt now thinks I didn't like her gift and Sundance has done a HORRIBLE job at trying to fix the problem. I have never dealt with worse service, do NOT buy ANYTHING from Sundance unless you are beyond sure you won't have to deal with the service.
Wow! I never expected to be treated so badly. I placed an order for a Christmas present on Dec. 4th and when I called today to find out where it was, they told me it was backordered until June! What kind of Christmas present is delivered in June! They made no effort to get in touch with me to tell me what was happening or to offer any alternatives or compensation. The "Senior Associate" told me I could order something else and they would expedite it b/c they were "expediting everything at this point anyway."
They sell clothing and jewelry at a premium, and the shipping cost are outrageous.
I was going to order one pair of earrings for xmas, which costs$38.00, but to get the lowest cost shipping. I would be charged $9.95. That's 26% of the cost for the item. Ridiculous.
I just realized, after posting a critical statement about Sundance customer service, that they have a 21% customer review rating. I respect and support Bob Redford and his activism, and engage in that myself as a professional. I just wish that he'd take his highly profitable upper-scale clothing business with the same devotion as he does his personal beliefs. Time for a house cleaning at Sundance Catalog!
Sundance has great products but the worst shipping policy in the business! Gouge you coming and going. Also, customer service is terrible... have the attitude we do business our way, if you don't like it shop somewhere else. YUCK!
I have received this catalog for a while now and always enjoy seeing it. I finally ordered something but it will absolutely be the last time. %17.95 in shipping for something that cost nowhere near that to ship... then to add insult to injury, the items was no better than a rag. Horrid quality and an additional $8-$13 charge for the honor of returning the item with no clarification of which charge it will be. I will NEVER patronize this business again. SO disappointed.
Just ordered over $750 worth of clothing and shoes after getting their catalog for years. They sent the wrong size shoes. Not ordered and they don't fit, but rather they sent the wrong size! I called and asked them to please send me the correct size and they very rudely responded that they will send them out when they receive the others back. Wha Wha Whaaaaatt? They screwed up and now they won't send the shoes unless I pay for another pair. Very rude customer service rep. The good reviews must be Robert Redford's personal assistant. This is a company that truly does not understand their customer. We get 10 high end catalogs each day. This one will go in the recycle bin.
Don't buy from Sundance unless you are SURE of size, fit, quality, etc. Not only is shipping charge exorbitant, but return shipping is absurd. I paid $21.90 (13.95 + 7.95) just to have a look at this item. The item was a flimsy sleeveless shell and actual shipping costs would be in the neighborhood of $5. It's like going into a store and being charged just to try a garment on. I will stick with Zappos and amazon where shipping and returns are usually free! I don't mind being charged a few dollars extra for an item if I keep it. Then at least if I return it I'm not out anything.
I was ready to place an order and noticed the very high shipping charges. I changed my mind about the order and will not order from them in the future. Too bad, they have some good stuff. They need to get with the Nordstrom & Zappos philosophy or no charges either way.
I have ordered a few items from them - I liked some, didn't like others. Overall, the quality is excellent and will purchase in the future. However, the shipping costs are terrible.
I love the boho clothes at Sundance but they are incredibly expensive (and I like expensive blouses like Joie and Johnny Was, but their quality is much better). As a company, I feel Sundance charges an incredible amount for shipping, and if you don't like an item you have to pay for shipping AGAIN to send it back. So I once paid $20 for a pair of pants I don't own. It's a waste of money, especially considering how pricey their clothes are to begin with.
Customer Service isn't stellar, either. I returned a top for another size, but never received it. When I called a month later, they told me it was no longer available. My credit card had been credited but I never received a message that I wasn't getting the item.
Answer: No. Sold it to a lawless private equity firm. Took the money and ran laughing all the way to the bank. Screw the customer until there are none, then just rebrand and keep screwing the customer. But when it comes down to it, its up to consumers to do their homework on all e-commerce as there are few laws, protections, and really no regulatory oversight/enforcement for this kind of criminal fraud which is rampant in the US now. Other countries have enviable common sense laws governing e-commerce on their books because their citizens wont tolerate the sort of abuses and fraud perpetrated by companies like Sundance, et al.
Answer: Shipping costs are extremely high, shipping is very slow and quality is not consistent.
Answer: The photos are so deceptive that the product you receive is nothing like them. See my photos below. I wish Sundance would do better.
Answer: No you don't! Overpriced and poor quality. I Purchased a necklace on sale and it was so tiny I returned it. This company is no longer affiliated with Robert Redford!
