Have purchased a few items in the past and have been satisfied. However, in the most recent catalog, The Last Days of Summer 2020, that had 81 photos of models, I wondered how many of them were African-American, given that on one of the last pages of the catalog, was a quote from poet, Maya Angelou, who said, and I quote, "She said, 'I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision'". Sundance presents a lifestyle, and I had to think, how many of my family and friends who are African-American would see themselves in these image and whether this catalog reflects their lifestyle, for I could see items appealing to them. With an "open heart," I write this review and ask that you widen your customer focus and begin with whom you chose as your models.
I live in Utah and have spent a load of money in the last 10 years at Sundance Catalog. When I went to return 3 items that were badly made and not worth the money I paid, I was told I could not return at the outlet store. Ok. But there are 20 in fees to return. That after the items were so badly made that I can't even use them. Please people if you are shopping at Sundance beware. The items look great in the catalog but mostly come from China and are awful. So I am out 400 and if I return them 20 more and then others are stating that they are not getting refunded for months. I went into the outlet today and was aghast. Merchandise all over the floor I could not walk through the aisles. When did Sundance become synonymous with Walmart (Walmart is better). The sales lady was nice but a bit short with me and I don't blame her. What a dump. I bought a Manos Zalopectas purse for 218, which is already pulling, a Wild Horse cap for 35 and a Chan Liu wrap bracelet that I could not clasp because the leather hole was too tight. Sad and very very disappointing to see this happen.
I placed an order and sent it all back weeks ago. Still do not have a refund. I understand if it's Xmas but not any other time. Makes me not want to order anymore from this company
I received three sundance leggings as a gift for christmas and they were the wrong size so I decided to return them and exchange for different items. Well not only did Sundance "only receive two (out of three) leggings" they REFUNDED the credit card instead of the GIFT CARD that I EXPLICITLY stated in the return form.
So now I am MORTIFIED because my aunt now thinks I didn't like her gift and Sundance has done a HORRIBLE job at trying to fix the problem. I have never dealt with worse service, do NOT buy ANYTHING from Sundance unless you are beyond sure you won't have to deal with the service.
In this peak shopping season of the year, ALL retailers offer FREE shipping AND holiday discounts. Sundance offers neither unless you buy $150 worth of their over priced clothing. And do not do this, not worth it.
And God forbid it needs to be returned or exchanged. Fron the other comments I am expecting even WORSE customer service THEN...

I have ordered a few items from them - I liked some, didn't like others. Overall, the quality is excellent and will purchase in the future. However, the shipping costs are terrible.
Bought an inexpensive ring (~80$), so I'm not expecting that much... However, this is well below reasonable... Impossible to clean and does not look good. Design of ring is bad...
Every time I call to order anything it is a single and dance... completely sold out or 7 to 10 days from supplier and another week to get to me... USA people... done ordering

My dress was returned more than one month ago, but my refund never comes!

My first & last experience... I ordered a pair of boots that I had to have. They didn't have half sizes so the very unhelpful guy that I spoke with told me to "either order up a size or down a size." I decided to go up. More than 2 weeks later I still hadn't received the boots or even a confirmation email. Nothing. I called in and was told to "wait longer." Finally they came close to 3 weeks later. Great looking boots but of course they were too big. I sent them back using their return label and here we are 6 weeks later and 5 emails later and still no refund. So now I've had to pay finance charges on the credit card. Now after 5 emails questioning why I haven't been issued a refund, I'm told they have my boots but that the refund won't be coming for another 3-5 weeks because they warehouse was closed for end-of-the-year sales and they process returns in the order they're received. Here's an idea,,, hire more people if that's what it takes & don't shut down your warehouse for weeks at a time! Poorly run business for sure.
Placed online order to Sundance Catalog on 5/17/2021.
Wrong item received 5/20/2021.
Emailed Sundance customer service 5/20/21 with order confirmation and photo of wrong item received, requesting corrective action by Sundance.
As the error was entirely on the part of Sundance I expected Sundance to correct it (as other online merchants do).
Sundance responded by email that I would have to: return the wrong item, complete the return information packing slip asking for exchange to original item ordered, include payment information for original item ordered plus shipping. Refund would be issued for wrong item once return received.
I emailed the return information packing slip (photos) completed with wrong and original items but declined to pay for original item and shipping costs as the error was entirely Sundance's error.
As of 6/2/2021, there was no response from Sundance, nor receipt of original item ordered.
My email of 6/2/2021 was met by Sundance with directive by email to return wrong item, then they would take action.
To say that Sundance is not trustworthy, nor competent, is an understatement. They make an error but want customer to be accountable. They provide no customer service and take no responsibility for their errors.

There were no email updates to the back ordered item with a new expected in stock date. I assumed the item was no longer available. Zero communication and you would think if the item is in stock 9 months later I should be asked if I still want the item (a mother's day gift) before surprising me with a credit card charge. I actually filed a fraud report and canceled my card as I thought my card number got stolen then the next day saw a shipping notice from Sundance in my email.
This incident aside, most items are delayed in shipping making timely gift giving impossible and the return policy and shipping fee for returns is ridiculous.
I will never shop at Sundance again. I hope this review saves you from learning the hard way.
I am very upset that this company will NOT stop sending me their bulky catalogs 2-3 times per month. An old room-mate ordered from them, so now the Postal carrier is required to give me the catalogs because it says "So-and-So OR CURRENT RESIDENT". I've called Sundance THREE TIMES but they always say "well it doesn't say anything about not sending them to you, but I'll make a note of it NOW..." but then they KEEP COMING. And so I call back and get the Run-Around all over again. I resent the use of paper, and I resent the temptation. They are cute clothes, and I am a walking clothes horse, but I do not need to spend my money on more clothes. I mostly resent the "Postal Harrassment".
Return policy is horrible; the process of a simple return is very time consuming. I would not recommend buying from Sundance. Customer service staff; do not care.
I had to return a ring I purchased for my wife from Sundance for poor fit. I shipped the returned ring on March the 13th using the return label which is for 2nd day FedEx. I called today April 10th and the customer service associate said they received the ring but had not completed the refund. I said wow! That's rather slow and she said "it takes 2-3 weeks to issue a refund - it's not quite complete yet."
Yikes! It's been almost a month now - that's ridiculously slow!
They didn't have any problem taking my money out of my account the same day I placed the order. Why the month delay to return the money?
Also standard shipping charges of $12.95 to ship the tiny ring seems exorbitant - but I did agree to that when I placed the order so maybe I shouldn't complain. And to return the item I was charged an additional $7.95 shipping. So I will be out $20.90 on this $68 ring purchase that didn't work out for my wife.

Ordered a matching bracelet, earrings and necklace in January. The bracelet came and i love it! The earnings showed up weeks later and we're very disappointed in the quality and the color of the item. The earrings we're almost white and we're supposed to be a pale pink purity. This was all supposed to be a Valentine's present. Valentine's came and went still no necklace. We returned the earrings. Very cheaply made. Got a letter in the mail saying the necklace is expected end of February. Where are already into March and still no necklace. Last letter said maybe April. So we call the company and ask what is the hold up. Unfortunately they cannot guarantee any shipping date whatsoever. And unfortunately they do not care. When I told them I want to cancel the necklace and return the bracelet they told me I still had to pay the $8 return shipping fee. They wouldn't wave anything or even give me a discount on the necklace. Very poor policy for such a high-end catalog. Why would I order from Sundance again? I asked the supervisor that and she said "sorry" so we are not ordering from Sundance ever again, very poor policies. If I would have known this I would have never placed the order to begin with. It has cost me almost $20 to return two items. Goodbye Sundance
Bought a dress for $128.00. Loved it so much I decided to purchase it again. Checked out Koselip dresses before ordering and found the exact dress for $23.99. Feel I was ripped off by Sundance.
My first impression of Sundance clothing was that the styles were wonderfully different! I've never liked looking like a department store. The prices were higher than I was used to, but I thought that the unusual style would be worth it. Over time though, I was repeatedly feeling that the pieces I ordered didn't feel substantial. The pieces in the photos looked better than the ones I received. The clothing didn't fit correctly and was uncomfortable. The pain in my feet became stronger than my desire to wear the boots. I've had good luck with clothing fitting me well, but these weren't like that. It came to an end for me when a sweater came out of the washing bag with one sleeve substantially tighter and longer than the other. That was when I decided I was done.
I've admired Robert Redford for a long time. I felt like he was a man of substance and integrity. But the Sundance clothing quality didn't mesh with my image of him. I felt duped. Misled. Used. What Robert Redford, the actor, is selling is an image much like his image on the big screen. Most of the products are labeled as imported from Italy. But they look like they were inspired by Mexico.
I have been ordering from Sundance for many years without any issues until this last year. In July, I ordered a bathing suit cover up and a top. Both were on backorder, and Sundance gave me an approx. Ship date. That date came and went and when i called they gave me another approx. Ship date. It had been almost 2 months before i received the items. Summer was now over! I gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept the items for the following summer. I recently purchased 3 items after Christmas. One of the items my husband wanted to surprise me with (boots) and he had previously ordered and he was waiting to come in. I called Sundance to cancel the boots I ordered - mind you this was all within the same day! -- and was told they already shipped. I told cust. Serv. That I had not received a shipping confirmation and she said it should be coming in my email. Well. 4 days later i received the shipping confirmation saying that the item just shipped. Customer service totally dismissed my request and did not even try on both accounts (July order and recent order) to suggest or assist with a solution. And lied! Sorry Sundance -- no more..
Sundance makes no attempt to notify you that a item is out of stock on you initial purchase upfront. They get your money and then provide a thank you for your business and it typically ships within 24 hours. But in the line item of your purchase it says it is out of stock with a date. So you have the choice to call back and cancel order or wait for it to ship. Well for Christmas I had a out of stock with a ship date before Christmas so I waited. Christmas came and went and I called them back and they said the item would not be in stock for 3 MONTHS! No notification. I cancelled the purchase item but still got stuck with the 2nd day shipping cost. Well it happen again with a purchase in June. Another present missed for my wife. Again, stuck with the shipping charges. All others businesses provide notification at purchase and even ask you if you want to proceed. Not Sundance. Pretty shady and absolutely no thought about customer satisfaction. You have lost a long time purchaser and your rating explains why. You don't care!
Answer: No. Sold it to a lawless private equity firm. Took the money and ran laughing all the way to the bank. Screw the customer until there are none, then just rebrand and keep screwing the customer. But when it comes down to it, its up to consumers to do their homework on all e-commerce as there are few laws, protections, and really no regulatory oversight/enforcement for this kind of criminal fraud which is rampant in the US now. Other countries have enviable common sense laws governing e-commerce on their books because their citizens wont tolerate the sort of abuses and fraud perpetrated by companies like Sundance, et al.
Answer: Shipping costs are extremely high, shipping is very slow and quality is not consistent.
