I purchased a pair of shoes, I couldn't get them on they were so small. I paid to ship them back the same day they arrived. Sundance has had the return for 14 days and have not processed my refund. Customer service has no clue when they will issue a refund. Items are refunded in the order they arrive back. They have so many returns that they can't process them. Customer service was useless. Two weeks and no refund is not acceptable. Unable to say when I will get a refund is unacceptable. Poor product and even poor service.
I've been waiting for a month for a refund for a sweater that didn't fit. When I contacted customer service, I was told that the package was still in transit. Unacceptable! Still waiting for my credit card to be credited. I will never do business with them again! Other companies issue refunds in 1-2 days. What a scam.
I was a loyal customer until they screwed up a very important gift order. Once they admitted to a packaging error resulting in only one of the two gift items getting shipped, they told me the only way to remedy on the timeline I needed the gift delivered by would be for me to pay for the item again and await reimbursement/credit. They want more money up front for a mistake that they made, ridiculous!
I don't mind paying more for beautiful items, and yes, they are overpriced. But, when I pay for an overpriced luxury item, the customer service should be stellar! Sadly, this company falls far short.
Recently I ordered a $90 shear top with a cami underneath. During my second wearing, the back strap of the cami broke, the front sagged and suddenly I was exposed -- at a party for all to see. It was the most embarrassing wardrobe mishap.
I complained, asking for a full refund (I offered to mend the cami myself), and all I got was: "We apologize for the difficulties you experienced with the XXX."
Did they not read about my experience or did they deem my experience triple x-rated? After complaining about receiving what I assume was an insulting form letter (that offered no concessions other than no return shipping fees), I just got an explanation that it was a form letter. DUH.
I've been buying from Sundance for years. I love their stuff. Even if it is so very expensive, wear out quickly because they are usually made from very thin/fine/fragile fabrics, and they NEVER give you a break on shipping. Doesn't take much to lose a customer!
I have been a Sundance customer for many years. Recently I received an item which was not of good quality -- basically, it was a bandana the Iikes of which would appear on my dog's neck after she had been groomed. I felt I should not have to pay for the return shipping of such a crummy item. After a long conversation, this issue was resolved. I then wanted to get a MORE EXPENSiVE item in exchange. The fee for mailing that item would not be waived. $8.00 for a $68 scarf that weighs nothing. Their products are nice, by and large, though some are quirky and some not of high quality, but the winners are winners. The issue is customer service which counts for a lot. I do not consider this good customer service and so, I will not be shopping with Sundance anymore.
I love the boho clothes at Sundance but they are incredibly expensive (and I like expensive blouses like Joie and Johnny Was, but their quality is much better). As a company, I feel Sundance charges an incredible amount for shipping, and if you don't like an item you have to pay for shipping AGAIN to send it back. So I once paid $20 for a pair of pants I don't own. It's a waste of money, especially considering how pricey their clothes are to begin with.
Customer Service isn't stellar, either. I returned a top for another size, but never received it. When I called a month later, they told me it was no longer available. My credit card had been credited but I never received a message that I wasn't getting the item.
I ordered a pair of boots USA Size 9. I received a box where the original size on the outside of the box had been taped over and a "size 9" was handwritten in. On one shoe, the true size had been scratched out and on the other shoe an attempt to wipe out the true size was not completely successful. The size was 8.5. Sent shoes back and still waiting for refund. Never again will I do business with this company.
I purchased a wool sweater online. The size was not true to size. I wear a 4 or 6 and ordered a small. The small was too large. Also, had I seen the sweater in a store, I would not have purchased it due to its quality. I was aware of the shipping cost, $17.95, which seemed high but the sweater looked beautiful online and it was on sale. This made the cost comparable to other sweaters I have purchased. I was also aware of the return shipping cost of $7.95 but believed I would not be returning the item. I just discovered that Sundance also does not return taxes paid on an item. Is that legal? I advise caution when purchasing an online item from Sundance. This will be my last purchase from Sundance.
Paid with a CC and a gift card, they returned most of the money to Gift Card - why?
Tried to get an explanation- they said it is done automatically, so I am trying to get rid of the gift card balance and instead I am getting more and more back on it!
Customer Service is useless, tell you one thing, nothing happened in fact!
Sundance overcharges for shipping and state taxes. I computed my order and found that both were inflated. I have cancelled my catalog subscription and am returning the item (cashmere sweater) which I recently ordered.
I ordered a top in XS. I am 5 5 and 135 lb. it looked as expected and seemed well made but was too tight through upper arms and shoulders and way too loose in the body. No problem - I mailed it back myself and I had recd free shipping to me so not too bad. However - when they asked me to review the shirt and it was not a perfect review, they said it was refused. Evidently they wont allow any criticism. I stated in the review that their fees for shipping are high especially when other high end stores give free ship and returns. I unsubscribed and won't buy from them again because Ive seen numerous bad reviews re customer service.
I never write reviews, but at this time I have to make people aware of all the shipping charges. I paid 17.95 for shipping, 23.50 for the return and I was told they would charge me either 7.95 or 12.95 for returning the items. I also was told I had to ship it today to make sure it would arrive within the 30 days they give you to ship your items back, well I received my package yesterday. At the post office they tell me that the label to return(is only the return address)is to small for the box. On top of that, customer sevice tells me the label is not the correct address. How can you send every two weeks a catalog for free but not shipping. Sundance... you not only lost a customer, but you also received a bad review.
I bought a ring for my girlfriend, it was $140. The website shows it as a white, rocks material ring, but all I got was a cheap, hammered metal ring.

It cost $45 to ship to me with customs, and another $36 to return it. They wouldn't provide me a return label. So I paid $80 for shipping on a false advertised ring that cost $140.
I will never, ever buy anything from here again!
The products are beautiful but way overpriced! A tiny mention of "Imported" is in most product descriptions, which generally means "Made in China". That could explain why the clothing I have ordered always runs small. The catalog is obviously geared toward Buffy, Muffy, & Tuffy of the Hamptons and the Keys... All of the models are willowy blondes or slightly brunette... no curves or dark skintones. Shame on you Mr. Redford!
I ordered some nefertiti earrings on Nov. 29. Was told they were not in, but would be by Dec 9th
I said that was fine. Dec 9th passed and not a peep from Sundance
I called them yesterday. Lady says they won't be in till Jan 22nd
She was very apologetic, not her fault. She says you should have gotten an email. I recieved 5 emails from Sundance but none were related to this problem. What a surprise.
I had just been to the Tempe Arts and Crafts Festival the previous weekend, but didn't look at earrings thinking I was getting the ones I wanted from Sundance. Now I have none. I wonder if Robert Redford ever hears or knows about the crappy customer service Sundance provides. From looking at reviews seems what happened to me is not real unusual.
I've recently purchased a jacket from here for my mom for Christmas, and my sister bought the shirt to go along with it (Angelwing top and Firelight Velvet Blazer). We both had awful experiences with this website. First... shipping was $18! Just for a light-weight jacket! My sister emailed them asking why their shipping costs so much and they replied with a BS review - pretty much saying what they have to go through to ship it (exactly the same method as every other website/company). It's a scam. PLUS my sister's order took about 2 weeks to be delivered! If I'm paying an arm and a leg for shipping, at least get it to me in a decent time span. The jacket and shirt are both made in China and the materials are VERYYYYYyyy cheap. I feel as if I'm going to rip the shirt just touching it and same with the jacket. I wouldn't even pay $5 for these items. The customer service is not helpful either. It's a scam. Never, ever shopping here again. Buyers, beware!
A pair of jeans I ordered was out of stock. Three months later I was sent the jeans and my bank account was charged $128. I had moved in the meantime. Therefore, the item went to my old address. I was told today by the rep to go look in the backyard or around the address it was shipped to. I was told they had marked the item backordered. What a piece of $#*! company. I had no way of knowing they were going to charge my account after three months. Do not order from this company. In a world of online shopping, they are a big fat zero.
Never never again! I am getting a huge hassle from a simple order of a dress and top, returned for other sizes... 3 weeks later... no merchandise, no refunds, HORRIBLE RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE... and still nothing to show for it! Once I get this mess straightened out I will never order from here again. Expensive shipping too... I'm not sure why I ordered from here to begin with
Following is the review I tried to submit. I think it explains the situation very well. I received an email from them saying "Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!" I'm offended I wasn't allowed to post and wasn't told what the issue was with my reivew.
My review: This review is more regarding customer service than the boots. They were lovely but I can't wear tall shafted boots, so I checked with customer service before ordering. They told me the boots had a 12" shaft which is perfect for me. I could tell at first glance they were taller than that so I measured and they were a good 15". I asked Sundance to waive return shipping fee as I had bought misrepresented merchandise, but they refused saying I had "received a service". I live in Texas. In addition to steep shipping I have to pay sales tax too. I rarely shop here anymore.
I ordered a Christmas gift on December 9th. It still hasn't arrived though I got an email saying it had been shipped on the 10th. I was told to check USPS because Sundance wasn't allowed to. And, I'd have to wait 21 days before they could act on the order status. 21 days! The customer service at Sundance is the worst I have ever experienced. From now on, I'm only ordering from Amazon. They at least compensate you if there is a mix up on their end.
Answer: No. Sold it to a lawless private equity firm. Took the money and ran laughing all the way to the bank. Screw the customer until there are none, then just rebrand and keep screwing the customer. But when it comes down to it, its up to consumers to do their homework on all e-commerce as there are few laws, protections, and really no regulatory oversight/enforcement for this kind of criminal fraud which is rampant in the US now. Other countries have enviable common sense laws governing e-commerce on their books because their citizens wont tolerate the sort of abuses and fraud perpetrated by companies like Sundance, et al.
Answer: Shipping costs are extremely high, shipping is very slow and quality is not consistent.
Answer: The photos are so deceptive that the product you receive is nothing like them. See my photos below. I wish Sundance would do better.
Answer: No you don't! Overpriced and poor quality. I Purchased a necklace on sale and it was so tiny I returned it. This company is no longer affiliated with Robert Redford!
