I requested information on an email address that I believe was used in a scam on a friend of mine. After paying my. 95 cents (and NOT selecting the free 7 day trial) I received 'no results' as my result. Wait, what?!? The system doesn't check to see if there is anything legitimate, it just takes your money. Then I received an email about my free trial (which I didn't want). To their credit, after I explained I didn't want the free trial OR the $19.99 per month they wanted to charge for an ongoing account, they said they closed it and my card won't be charged. That remains to be seen, but so far, so good. In the meantime, before my free trial was closed, I looked up myself. The information is way off. I wouldn't waste my time or money with Spokeo.

Stay as far away from this company as you can. A simple $. 95 phone number search turned into a recurring $19.95 monthly charge that I failed to catch for a long time on my business credit card. No invoices. No notice of the recurring charge. Nothing.
They are stealing money from people and they obviously know it. When I called to complain they refunded me about 1/3 of the charges without even a discussion. When I asked for a full refund their "supervisor" Monique (ID #1242) read from a script and was ready to hang up on me before I protested. Ridiculous company.
They will be defendants in a class action suit before long.

I tried the 99cent charge to look up a number that had called me. Spokeo gave no further info than I could see for myself. Their 99cent charge is to get your billing info. It was a 7 day free trial, on the 7th Day they tried to withdraw 24.95 from my bank account. My bank held the request. When I contacted Spokeo they said they would cancel my subscription! Effective May2. I told her that it is April 2nd. Cancel it Now. She spoke to her supervisor and removed the charge. But kudos to my bank that held it up for review.
BTWAY that 24.95 charge would have been monthly! I laughed and said people actually PAY FOR THIS?!
Total scam. They probably set up robocalls to annoy people to generate need for their service.

I did a few searches and they were a waste of money. Be careful of the teaser rate. If you don't cancel within the teaser period the company will start charging your credit card with no monthly invoices or any other notice. The customer service representative said the terms of the contract were sent by email. I never saw it and they did not provide any evidence that the charges were authorized. Your best bet is never to get involved with this company in any way.

Unfortunately, I read these reviews after the fact. I paid. 95 for a 7 day trial, cancelled on day 2 of the 7 days because it's a useless site with a lot of incorrect information, that just wants you to pay more and more money. I called the customer service number and verified that my cancellation went through, which they verified that it did, and I asked the name of the representative and extension, and if they would send me an email confirmation of that, which they seemed more than happy to. It never came. They don't intend to give you a confirmation in writing. I am going to report my card lost/stolen and get a new card number. Not setting myself up for these SHYSTERS. I'd like to see a spokeo representative chime in right now as they have on ALL the other bad reviews and explain to me why JUAN could not send me an email confirmation of cancellation. Waiting...

Accuracy on this site is nonexistent. Doing a search for my name does bot show my name, but does show me as my youngest son who is 35 years old. And his name is not the same as mine. As far has this site is concerned I don't exist.
And my oldest son, the junior, has two listings, one of which lists his age as 5 years older then he really is.
Searching my address shows people who have never even lived in my city as living here.

I recently paid for the 1 month subscription, but in processing this they charged me for 3 months. Then I began looking into what I was there for... nothing was adding up. I then decided to look myself and my husband up-not 1 thing was correct. Hmmmm... so I went on & looked up more family & friends, absolutely NOTHING WAS UP TO DATE. People were the wrong race, still married to people they hadn't been in over 5 years! Now, the old info-and I do mean OLD- was somewhat correct. The whole thing was a waste of time.

They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
