They're customer service is top notch, the site does what it says it will do and while some people may not like being billed automatically for a subscription that they've forgotten about, Spokeo doesn't do any sort of behind the scenes "scammy" behavior. I was very satisfied with them all around.

Be Aware

I wasn't aware that I had signed up for recurring charges of $24.95 per month. The charge you automatically if you don't cancel within 7 days. Very very bad practice. Will never use again!

Rip Off

I agreed to pay 95 cents for one look up. I foolishly gave them my credit card and the next thing I knew I had run up a year of $19.95. I though this was a charge my wife made which is why it slipped by us for a year. We called to cancel but BE CAREFUL and track your credit card charges carefully.

I recently contacted Spokeo regarding my subscription. I was pleased with the outcome and the level of service I received. I find that sometimes, people can be rude to companies when asking for their help; not that it gives anyone a reason to not help you, but it definitely doesn't motivate them to do so. Since I worked in collections, I realize the importance of being polite, professional and detailed. With this approach, I had a wonderful experience with Spokeo. I won't say that you will get your way if you "play nice", because it really depends on your situation; but it really doesn't get you anywhere to be impatient or nasty. Just a suggestion.

Spokeo has been charging me $20 monthly since July 2018! As a student who keeps my card on autopay, I did not notice this until they had charge me $400. This is money that I do NOT HAVE and cannot afford. They never sent any emails of a monthly bill or anything. That tells you a lot about their shady business practices.

Not safe

I think that people should be notified if someone makes a purchase with your own phone number because I just look my own phone number is it was scarcely correct info and if I don't know who wants to know stuff about me and they actually get that info I could be in danger!

Spokeo is bogus

I signed up and paid for a Spokeo report of myself. Imagine my surprise to learn I have a middle name! And relatives I have never heard of or met, even though they lived with me!
I contacted Spokeo to have these and other errors corrected, but was told there was no way of doing that. The only option was to delete my name and all (bogus) information from their website. So of course I did. In my experience, Spokeo is an irresponsible, potentially dangerous clown show.

I like a lot of people, signed up to use the $0.95 one time trial. A few days later, Spokeo stole 24.95 from my account. When I called and demanded a refund, he was very polite and nonchalant saying a refund of 9.95 would be sent back to my card. Upon throwing a massive fit I was told I would receive my full refund. Its been 5 days, no refund yet. Beware before using this site.

Once you pay the money then you find that there are misrepresenting the background information you're going to get. Then they want money for each and every other background check you do so it's a farce don't waste your money
