I called on the 18th of August and scheduled to have my internet services disconnected explaining that I would be moving on Saturday the 2nd of September. I work remotely on weekdays from home and would never have requested services to be canceled on the 1st, a Friday. The rep on the 18th explained I had paid service from August 6 to September 5,2023… translation, I was covered until the 5th. Great. Well, they cut off my internet on the 1st. After being on the phone for over an hour to try and get reconnected for the day, they were going to charge me a reconnection fee. WTF? I decided I might as well work from a coffee shop or use my hotspot.
Very disappointed and will be canceling my mobile services with them soon.

Paying for frustration
November 20, 2021

I dont even know what im paying for here. I am constantly TURNING OFF MY WIFI AND USING CELL DATA because that actually works better about 99% of the time. I preordered starlink but it cant get here quick enough. I loathe spectrum. They are still bright house and still terrible.

For five years we were able to have a decent price for internet, but then moved to a new home and they disregarded our old price and required that we "upgrade" to a new plan, which more than doubled our price. At the end of one year of living in our new home, the price increased by another $20/month and then another $5/month was added the following month. When we've called to talk to customer service, they essentially laugh at us because they have a monopoly on high speed internet in our area - there aren't any other options other than dial up and they know there isn't any other place for us to go. Internet is a necessity for business purposes at home. This increase in price eats into our ability to feed our family (we spend less than $200 a month to feed a family of 3), because we can't not pay other bills either. We've been spreading the word in our neighborhood to show interest in a company that does fiber. You can guarantee that we'll switch as soon as another option is available - even if the price is higher - because we can't stand the callous nature of Spectrum.

Ever since this broadband program started where spectrum pays a portion of your bill, I have had nothing but problems with my internet! I dont know if it's because they are paying and have slowed the speeds, or are just getting over! They have funding, so if they pay $50 on my bill, how do I know if my speed is still the same as when I was paying? They can easily slow speed, make a bill be 25$ but say they are paying $50 "pocketing" the difference because I cannot even watch a show entirely through! Every 5 minutes the internet disconnects. They keep saying it's the equipment but this is our 3rd set of it in less than 3 got dang months! I'd rather just pay my original billing of $60 with the original speed because there weren't ANY ISSUES OR DISCONNECTS PERIOD! SPECTRUM YOU SUCK!

Rude customer service
October 31, 2023

Not once have I ever been treated Rudely on a phone. Other than when I went to cancel my service with spectrum. I explained to the representative I wanted to cancel because we just wanted something different. She began to hound me, "what's different? Why? Your price is unbeatable?" In a rude attitude. But the real reason was their prices are just crazy for the speed I get. I explained I went with T-Mobile, She told me for going with T-Mobile Wi-Fi it wasn't reliable, they didn't have tv, and it didn't even have a gig. T-Mobile is cheaper and it is faster than spectrum by A LOT. Mind you why she is telling me this she has the rudest tone. It wasn't until I had to say "I don't really care about what you want. IT's ultimately about what I want. And we have decided to not go with your services anymore." And then began to put me on hold for 20 minutes. I just don't understand why spectrum would hire people who are just completely rude to customers, like their job is to literally provide service for the customers? Not bully them into staying with them.

Interesting dealing with these large companies like Spectrum. I have been a loyal customer for several years. I am on auto pay and at some point in last several months the increased my bill from 75 dollars a month to 92 dollars a month with out my knowledge.
I contacted Spectrum and requested the advertised rate of $44.99 per month plus $5 dollars for modem rental. The agent was setting the account up as requested. Then she asked if I was already a customer. And I said yes. She responded that I can not get the advertised rate because I am already a customer.
I asked for an explanation since I have been a loyal customer for years.
So basically if you are a loyal customer, you can not get treated like a loyal customer. You have to be a new customer.
Can some one explain the logic of this.
I am not pleased with the attitude of Spectrum. The attitude for all you old loyal customers is Screw You.
I asked the agent to explain this attitude and they were at a loss of an explanation.
Too bad that we have to deal with BIG companies that have such little use for their old loyal customers.
The agent was courteous, I can say that.

All of our politicians are in bed with the lobyists and these companies- They allow mergers and non exhistant customer service. We're essentially down to two choices and neither are good- Charter Spectrum and ATT Directv- What a joke- Call ATT CS at *******020 if you want the most frustrating experience of your life.

AWFUL internet service. Terrible terrible terrible. Zero stars. Straight trash. Raising prices on cable when they already cut half the channels (& with no decrease in price, ridiculous, but removing half the channels) now internet going up when they are the worst internet service ever, constantly disconnecting and slow! TRASH. THOUGHT THEY WERE GETTING KICKED OUT OF NYS?!?!?! GET THE HELL OUT AND NEVER COME BACK. CRASH AND BURN.

Don't Trust Customer Retention-They Lie
January 5, 2023

If you call Spectrum to cancel their services, they will send you to their customer retention department. Be warned no matter what these agents say they have no power to do anything or offer you anything. Everything they say are lies. They say things like we can cancel your service, we can offer you a better deal, you are right we did offer that deal to you, we can't authorize to credit your account for that amount, but you are right you won't have to pay it, I'll stay on the line and talk with the billing representative and then they'll credit your account, stay on the line and don't say anything until I'm done talking with your account representative.

Of course they'll transfer you back to billing and leave you hanging. My guess is Customer Retention is the Spectrum Union offices who have no purpose anyway and get their kicks off of lying to customers.

If you believe any of customer retention's officers lies let me assure you the billing department of this monopolistic monstrosity couldn't care less what you've been offered they're about taking your money and calling you the liar and then charging you a late fee for believing their lies.

I want everything via internet, so Spectrum offering TV via browser & iOS/iPad app was great - even more so when I was told about their CloudDVR.

Streaming TV: constant problems, both web & app
CloudDVR: It hasn't worked AT ALL for 3 weeks (I can record/hold 50 episodes at a time... I have 50, but can't watch any of them. Can't watch, can't delete.

I called at least a dozen times asking for an American technical support agent and each time the call was routed to the Philippines where agents are rude and everything is scripted. One agent attempted to help me and tried to tell me that my modem is not registered after a series of verification questions. WTF how do you think it has been working for the past month? One even made a comment to a coworker as I asked to be transferred to an American agent "Hindi ako marunong mag transfer. I transfer ko kaya ito as kapitbahay nya" (I don't know how. How about I transfer this to her neighbor).

15 years with timwarners bull$#*!! Now spectrums turn to dish out crap! 3- 4 days out the week I don't get my premiums. I lag on game counsel.if GF is on laptop kicks me off!

IF I COULD GIVE THIS COMPANY A ZERO STAR I WOULD, THE INTERNET SUCKS, THE TV PROGRAMING IS AWFUL,
AND NOW THEY JUST BUMPED UP MY BILL TO ALMOST 200$ A MONTH FOR WHAT, THEY ACT LIKE THEY DONT CARE ABOUT KEEPING CUSTOMER AT ALL. I KNOW THEY LOST MY BUSINESS. IM GOING ELSE WHERE, TOTAL RIPOFF.

GOUGERS par excellence

1. Spectrum doubled my bill for same service I was getting when the company was TimeWarner.
2. Spectrum added an unauthorized landline to my cable/internet bill (I haven't had a landline since 2001). I didn't notice because I am on paperless and autopay. When I demanded a refund they said "policy" is to only refund the current month's charge, not the 16 months they had been ripping me off.
3. One Spectrum customer service person says and promises one thing, then a supervisor reverses it and defends the company rather than do what is right and in the customer's interest.
4. Spectrum lets you use outdated equipment that they charge you for every month. You have to call them and ask if your router and set-top box are up-to-date, because they don't care as long as they're taking your money.
5. Spectrum's cable service regularly blanks your screen while it updates and it has various glitches, and the streaming version is worse and has clumsy navigation and the guide is not integrated with LiveTV. Spectrum doesn't care, as long as they're taking your money.
6. What do they want the money for? Stuffing their executives' pockets, I imagine. And of course, dumping tens of millions into hideously irritating ads for their mobile service. I don't see why they waste their money when they can just charge you for the service without providing it. (See #2, above.)
For these and other reasons, I loathe Spectrum. It's an unregulated greedy corporation that unfortunately is allowed to have a virtual monopoly where I live. They certainly exploit it.

New DVR
May 11, 2022

Last night a spectrum tech put in a new DVR and not even 24 hrs later it no longer works, my TV kept glitching so I unplugged it to reboot and the whole system froze and now I have to wait until tomorrow morning for another tech to show up and fix the problem, my telly is the 2nd thing that keeps me happy at my old age and paying over $240 a month I should be getting better service.

I received my bill for next month I noticed a $5 increase in my WiFi and so I called the billing department. I was told it was a $5 across the board increase and all Spectrum customers was being charged the same $5 monthly rate increase. I never did understand what the girl was saying it was for and finally gave up. I have spoken with other Spectrum customers who say their bill was the same. I have no videos or images for this complaint. I hardly think $5 is worth lying about. I am old and live on a fixed income. I already gave up my cable and home phone services thru Spectrum because of this. In January when my WiFi alone will begin a new charge of $90 a month they can then have the WiFi too. I am supposed to be getting 200mbps strength and I do good to get between 80 and 120. So here we are again poor service. You can call them and the techs want to walk you through a bunch of mess that usually does not help and when you pay for a service that is their job to fix it and not the customer who is not on their payroll as a internet tech. Spectrum has reached a size where customer service just does not matter anymore.

Spectrum provides the worst service of any company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Their low price suckers you in and then you realize why they are cheaper than the real internet/phone providers. We have had more outages in the last two weeks than we had with Southwestern Bell/ATT in 57 years combined. I wish I was exaggerating. If you need reliable internet or phone service pick any provider except Spectrum. They are constantly getting cancelations so they re-use the same equipment and then lie about it. One of their managers even told me they only use new equipment until I showed him their box that was only supposed to be a couple weeks old. Then he had to admit it was obviously used and filthy. You might ask what a Spectrum manager was doing at my house a couple weeks after installation. He was there because the service people had been to the house 3 or 4 times in the first week of installation. The family room TV actually went down 2 3 hours after installation. This is the first review I have ever written in my entire life but I just had to warn everyone that all those one star ratings are there for a reason.
