Beware canceling

Beware if you cancel one day into the billing cycle. They will reach into bank account and pull out another months fee THEY WILL NOT PRO-RATE IT. And call your bank and remove authorization for further charges

We did a little downsizing recently and returned a cable box to Spectrum. Once the box was returned via their method, I called Customer Service to have the monthly fee removed from the bill. The customer service rep stated that the monthly fee would be removed and a switch would be made to a different cable package. About ten minutes after the call was made...POOF...a whole bunch of channels were no longer available. Burned Once. What they heck? So I called back and was given a reason right out of the pages of Thats Incredible. The rep informed me that the package had been changed to 'streaming' from a package that was labeled as something like 'heritage' customer, meaning we had been a customer with Bright House. I told the rep that in no way shape or form that I request a change in package and the purpose of the call was to inform Spectrum of the equipment return. I asked that the previous existing package be restored. And to my surprise, I was told that in no uncertain terms can the previous package be restored...by more than one person. I believe my response was something like 'I really do not believe that...we can send rockets into space, rovers to Mars...and you cannot just restore the previous package? Nope. Can't do it. So I finally got a 'supervisor' that relented and stated that 'no', the package can no longer be restored but they would do some switching and restore service to a 'similar' package with a price of $165 (previous package was $168 'ish. That $165 price existed for two billing cycles then POOF...it goes up to $170. Burned Twice.

Spectrum are big scammers and they will ruin your credit score and your life for an equipment and service you never ordered and never used. AVOID SPECTRUM PLEASE! Save you some headache and keep your money. They will STEAL your money without a doubt! Go somewhere else.

I have had issues with my tv channels since day one and have called and never once been offered a discount have it knocked off bc they say its free anyways, WELL FIX THE DAMN THING. IT'S BEEN A YEAR NOW. Same with my mobile had issues there, raised the data and they took out immediately after telling us it would be taken out following month putting our account in the negative and then they ran it a second time doubling the negative balance, after fussing for hour with rep, they took off the two charges but bank only would take off two of the overdrafts which pissed me off, bc bank said they were authorized to autodraft our account. So I look at bill to be taken out and it says $160.48, they take out $282.64 and $#*!ed us royally. THEY ARE CROOKS.

The Worst

They seem to average an outage every week. The support is so disconnected when it comes to broadband services and yet they continue to hire incompetence.

We have had Spectrum for a little over a month now. A few days ago, our internet cut out. After two days, we decided to call. We live at an apartment complex, so the neighbors and I obviously live under the same address, but with different apartment numbers. Well, Spectrum did not seem to understand the concept of this. My neighbor canceled her service with them, which in turn canceled ours! And when we tried to turn it back on, we were given the run around for THREE DAYS. I was told they would not reactivate our account unless my neighbor called to activate it. That never made sense to me, because why does she all of a sudden have authority on our account? So, she called, and sure enough they told her that WE had to call them to fix it because it was OUR account. Next day, they tell me I owe over $100 which made no sense, seems I had only had them for over a month and had already made my two payments. After being on hold for an hour, they told me I had to go to my nearest Spectrum store with my lease to prove that I was who I was, and that I live where I do. Luckily, Daniel at the Spectrum store was our saving grace. I'm most likely going to be switching providers, because I'm not paying a company that is so ridiculous and unprofessional.

I had internet only, switched to add TV and was forced to take the phone to get the better deal. Now I can only use one device on my internet. If I want to add more it cost more. If I cancel the Internet and phone my bill goes from $1113 to $98.66 + tax. Are these people SERIOUS? Monday I will be canceling all 3 services and getting internet through our local phone company. Honestly, STAY AWAY FROM SPECTRUM. I was OK with the service when it was TWC.

DOESNT GET ANY WORSE!

TERRIBLE, BROKEN SIGNALS Daily with Internet, SLOW Speed while PAYING for the FASTEST, BAD Cable Service, DVR CONSTANTLY MESSES UP RECORDINGS, OR DOESNT RECORD AT ALL, BUT SAYS IT DID, AND TO BOOT, THEYRE OVERPRICED!
Ive had techs out NO LESS than 5 Times, and NOTHING HAS BEEN FIXED.
I AGREE FCC NEEDS TO BE BREAK THEM UP!

DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE
September 14, 2021

The service drops every 20minutes or so in my area. I have troubleshooter everything, and even a hard reset only keeps internet in my house on 1 TV for about 40min. Worst investment ever- AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The best recommendation is to switch providers IMMEDIATELY.

Horrible cable

I had Diectv for years and it always worked. With Spectrum, they keep raising their prices, most of the channels rarely work, it has to initialize at least 3-4 times a week. Don't waste your money!

What a WORTHLESS COMPANY. I have been with them for over 20 years because Spectrum is the only company that offers high speed internet in my area but I should have went ANYWHERE! Constant unannounced outages at the most convenient times like Saturday & Sunday EVENINGS! Customer support is non-existent if you can get one that speaks English! These people are nothing but THIVES so go ANYWHERE but here!

I have had Spectrum for 18 years. It has been a constant battle to keep my bill just above too much $ continuously for all of the years stated above. My wife and i finally decided to eat crow and take the only other internet competitor (blah :() . When lord behold... Spectrum is hiring, and it is within walking distance from our house :) my wife applies and they hire her on the spot because of her educational degree. 6 weeks of training, free cable and the best insurance i have ever come across, everybody is happy :). . Right :(. incidentally, she passed up a better paying job for this one (no weekends) after a whopping 3 months they send corporate ax man to say they are closing shop out of the blue. And when questioned why? (they were swamped everyday morning till evening with customers) Spectrums answer was, they needed to focus more on their worthless mobile phone network and said they had been planning to close the store since 2017, this all happened in July of 2018. Now if this was not bad enough this criminal corporation would not shut our service off and is trying to stiff me with a 500+ bill, we have continually called to get return tickets for our equipment to no avail and want to charge me for it because i refuse to drive 50 miles away to drop it off to them. I couldn't
Fabricate such a ridiculous story. No accountability, border line criminal activity.

Clarence ny 10/29/2018 1600hrs. A driver for spectrum lic#*******jz East on Greiner at Thompson, at speed, suddenly stopped and made a left turn in front of me while I was West on Greiner with r. O. w. I had to lock my brakes. Called spectrum to make them aware their driver nearly caused an accident and I hope they take it seriously. I had multiple occupants in my vehicle. This is the 3rd time in 2 months I have been on the receiving end of a spectrum driver's reckeless driving. Who trains these folks to drive? If spectrum drivers need g. P.s. In their work trucks, spectrum should install them before their drivers mame someone. I have an onboard dvr and this video is uploaded. Re train or replace your bad drivers, spectrum.

Why the hell can't you hire a couple of reasonably decent programmers for your TV box?

Price and offering of shows are very good, but you completely fail at recording programming. Is it really that hard to cache them in an array and read the damn array?

Direct TV does this 100 times better than Spectrum. More so because Spectrum programmers are complete failures. They do not understand Configuration Control and just have no logic. This is the result of hiring foreigners from 3d world countries who's education system is extremely poor.

You need some programming leadership from experts, not cheap kids.

1/2 the time you cannot get the box to set a program to record and the other 1/2 the time when it does set to record, you drop it off and it does not get recorded.

Why the hell are you charging for this crap? I have worked with Jr. High school kids that can program better than Spectrum programmers.

Put your software under Configuration Control, then start fixing the issue. MeTV seems to be an outliner, that never records correctly. That should not happen, as the channel should not be part of the logic.

Rebooting use to straighten it out for a little while, but now it seems to be failing to correct it.
When it comes to recording programs, Spectrum is just discussing.

Come on Tom Rutledge. How about getting your customer's some results here?

Total trainwreck

We have had spectrum for years. I'm the past three weeks I was lied to, told that they couldn't reduce my charges, days later told by another rep they could reduce them by about $100/month. All services were changed. Then about a week later randomly all my services were shut off and someone on their end marked us as deceased and shut off all of our services. Spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get this figured out, then found out when they set up the account again they set it up wrong. When I called back they wanted me to pay to fix their errors, gave me an absolute run around, finally retention dept was "able" to fix our services HOWEVER somehow the price went up $30/month and they couldn't explain that to me. On top of that during all of this we come to find out that they had been charging us for something we returned to them for over a year, and then someone on their end kept sending a never ending stream of equipment to my house that I had to spend even more Time on the phone with them getting charges removed for that. And scheduling a pickup for all their damn equipment get kept repeatedly sending me. They offered me a $23 credit to my account for charging me for 15 months worth of something I didn't have, and offered me ZERO compensation for spending 7+ hours on the phone with them in the last two weeks due to alllllllllll their errors.

Worst company ever. Do not recommend at all. Do EVERYTHING YOU CAN to avoid getting their services. It's a extremely overpriced nightmare.

Spectrum technical support
September 16, 2017

I've been a long time customer from the days of Insight. Due to the never ending rising bill I turned all my services off and kept just the internet. I've had never ending issues with streaming since. Numerous "technicians " have come out but have fixed nothing. Today when I called technical support I was greeted with less than courteous service. For a lack of a better word "racism." Due to my ethnicity I tend to have a slight accent. I explained to the rep that the lights on my router keep flickering. He stated that couldn't be, because his systems show that it's been on with no interruptions for 13 hours. I explained that couldn't be because I literally watched all the lights go off. He then went back and forth with me, pretty much insinuating that I was lying. At this point my friend ( who had an American accent) got on the physnd explained the same thing I had said. To which he then became very helpful, to the extent of sending someone out, although they had just sent a technician this morning. Btw this technician from this morning stated everything was fine. It's appalling how Spectrum monopolizes the market, and still supplies sub standard service. I've been with this company for 12 years through all the takeovers. Yet still I get treated like i have never paid my bill on time, or have always been a sub standard customer.

Spectrum is the worst!
November 14, 2017

Paying more for less. I am paying $191 now for something called spectrum silver. This is more than I paid for the Triple Play package which included a phone and internet HBO and Showtime and Starz and Epix, I have scaled down now to NO phone and less premium channels and I'm paying more! This is beyond anything that I imagined would happen after Time warner became Spectrum.

Set up to have Spectrum installed at my house all my neighbors and either side have Spectrum the pole is right and the corner of my lot the guys that come out are very unprofessional and trying to discourage you from getting the service unless it's a very easy job that'll take him a short period of time refuse to put the cable in because it would take longer time setting up was a total waste of my time I told the people to call me before they come to my Gates so I can let them in his supervisor called wanting to know why I wasn't there I said I was there and he never called so we called him back and then he showed up this company is the worst AT&T and Verizon and other companies are much better

Believe all of the bad reviews

Ever since Spectrum took over Time Warner internet, the quality and customer service went down, down, down, down, down. Speed was both consistently inconsistent, and consistently far lower than we were supposed to be getting. Their equipment at the utility pole, and the connection indoors was prone to going bad and we had them out at least once a year "fixing" the connection. The one thing I'll give them credit for was not trying to blame us for any of the issues we had. Phone support was terrible, though. They were clearly reading from a script when doing troubleshooting - expected at first level support, but the higher up level of support staff was no improvement, if they were even a higher level as they claimed.

We were never so happy to dump them and go to an actually dependable competitor, which incidentally had 5x the speed (reliable speed) for about another $10/month. When we cancelled and returned the modem, the person receiving the modem more or less confirmed they would never match the speed and price of the company we switched to. It seems like they have enough suckers that they couldn't care less about trying to offer a decent deal to keep a customer.
